LANCASHIRE & CHESHIRE COLLIE CLUB CH SHOW 3.5.26
My thanks to Lancs & Cheshire Collie Club for this appointment. I last judged for this club 17 years ago to the day and again I was able to catch up with Gael Wilcock from Australia who also judged that day, many thanks to my friendly and very helpful stewards.
I was really pleased with my entry so thank you to all exhibitors for making it a very enjoyable day during judging and afterwards, so nice to all meet up with everyone, I hope they all enjoyed the day as much as I did.
Puppy Dog 2
- Lusty’s Blamorder Masterpiece. Really nice start to the day with a very promising B/M puppy 10 mnths. Lovely colour, good bone, front and rear giving him an impressive overall shape and size. Head was well balanced, nice ears and lovely dark eye and expression. Moved so well with good rear extension. Although he still has to mature I liked him very much. Well deserved RCC. BP
- Young’s Wynele Ace of Spades. Much heavier framed Tri of 10 mnths, very good coat and condition. Ears a little light but head handles OK. Sound in movement.
Junior Dog 2
- Denton’s Coldelee Take it to the Limit. S/W nice coat and in good condition. He has a good head pattern although eye a little round but has well set and used ears. Would prefer a little more length to back but he moved out well.
- Leavesley & Richardson’s Lizoni Modry Fantasie. B/M of good colour and condition, liked his overall size and shape but rather straight through in head which spoils the expression. Moved out well with drive
- Wheeler & Jones’ Koczkodan in a Quandry
Post Grad Dog 2
- Holmes, Holmes & Lusty’s Blamorder Starman. Young S/W not big in size but good overall shape who still has to mature some. Typical head with well set ears. Nice coat and condition. Moved out well but a little tail happy.
- Seager’s Blamorder Scale Force with Freejack. Much stronger and well built Tri with really nice coat and condition. Prefer a little more length of head and body. Very strong sound mover but another tail happy.
Limit Dog 4
- Rodgers’ Blamorder Mischief Maker with Jerdoni. S/W shown in good condition and lovely tight coat. Head handles well , flat skull, well set ears used to advantage. Good front and rear. I liked his overall size, nothing heavy about him which I prefer. Good sound mover. His first CC. Well Done
- Thomas & Lusty’s Blamorder Side Hustle with Mournebrake JW. A lot to like about this Tri with well balanced head, good ear set, good size and overall shape. Carrying too much weight which spoils his outline. Moved well.
- Howe’s Lizoni The Drifter
Open Dog 4
- Lusty’s Ch Blamorder Audacity. Although I liked this Tri for size he was another getting too heavy for me. Good head pattern and nice eye although ears a little light. He was well angulated and moved out well.
- Seager’s . Blamorder Magic Maker with Freejack JW. Well up to size S/W shown in good order, he has matured well and he has a good coat of rich sable colour. Rather stronger in head but well set and used ears but would prefer a sweeter eye. Moved OK.
- Wensley’s Ch/Int/Multi Ch Constella Hazy Cosmic Jive JW
Veteran Dog 4 (2)
- Lusty’s Blamorder Bring Him Home. Although not a big tri dog head handles well, good ears, nice eye but just beginning to show his age. Good overall shape and still moves well. Always liked him from ringside and would have liked to have judged him when he was younger.
- Lusty’s Ch/Am GCH/Can GCH Cardross Red Dirt Road to Blamorder JW. S/W of much larger proportions with a rather open coat. Cannot deny he is so very well put together and moves so well, but a little too much of him for me.
Puppy Bitch 1
- Thomas’ Blamorder Butter Side Down at Mournebrake. Standing alone this very feminine Tri at her first show. Good overall shape and well put together. Her head needs to clear in stop and skull to flatten. Today she hid her ears but moved well and was very steady around the ring.
Junior Bitch 4 (1)
- Wensley’s Blamorder Starstruck by Versatilis. S/W in good coat & colour. Head needs to clear in stop, but good ears used well. She is well put together, I liked her overall size and shape. Nice length of back to height. Moved out well.
- Jerrett’s Coldelee Busy Bein Famous. S/W, coat pale in colour and a little open. Head pattern ok but would prefer a better eye shape. Still to mature as she is still young. Moved OK.
- Thomas’ Blamorder Butter Side Down at Mournebrake
Post Grad Bitch 3 (1)
- Geddes’ Texforrier The Whole Shabang. Tri of good colour who has a nice overall shape and size, well angulated. Head to clear in stop and skull. Moved soundly.
- Thomas’s Blamorder Butter Side Down at Mournebrake
Limit Bitch 2
- Richardson’s Lizoni Va Va Voom. Tri of good colour and coat, a smart bitch, I liked her size and overall shape. Head handles well with nice eye. Moved out very well with good rear extension.
- Rodgers’ Blamorer High Brow with Jerdoni. Tri with typical head, with well set ears used well. Prefer more length to back and better rear angulation. Moved well but has a happy tail which spoilt the outline.
Open Bitch 7 (1)
- Denton’s Ch Brackenhaye Heart and Soul. Tri of good colour. Liked this bitch who is so well angulated front and rear with nice length of back. Good head pattern, and used ears to advantage. I would prefer a little less of her as she is for me carrying too much weight but cannot deny her quality. Moved out well. RCC. RBOB
- Holmes, Holmes & Lusty’s Ch Blamorder Makers Mark JW. S/W very feminine of nice size and overall shape, liked her head pattern but would prefer a sweeter eye and coat a little open. She moved out well.
- Benton’s Ch Brackenhaye Queen of Hearts of Oakestelle. Liked this tri bitch, so feminine with good coat and condition. Litter sister to 1st. Lovely make and shape, good head pattern, nice eye and well used ears. She was unfortunately not so happy today but moved out so well.
Veteran Bitch 5 (2)
- Lusty’s Ch Blamorder Ice Cream Dream VW. This lovely B/M bitch has shown how well Smooths can mature and still do so well in the show ring. She has retained such a lovely clean head with lovely well shaped dark eye and well set ears, she has such a good front and rear and is shown in great condition. Moved well enough today to get top spot. I think she has improved with age and must be a joy to own. Thank you for bringing her today, I always liker her mother who I judged as a puppy. This young lady is also Great Grandmother to my lovely Best Puppy. Many congratulations. CC. BOB, Res BIS.
- Cowling’s Koczkodan Serenity VW. Another favourite bitch. Very feminine Tri who is very well made, good overall shape and size, nice head pattern. Not showing so well today. Moves out well.
