East Anglian Collie Association Open Show 2

I would like to start with thanking EACA for inviting me to judge both Rough and Smooth Collies at this well run, friendly show. It is lovely to be able to park up so close to the show rings as usual at this venue.
Thank you also go to my Stewart for the day kept my ring in order.
The rain held off until the end of the show but the wind was blowing strong and dogs were unsettled at the beginning, I was particularly interested in - fore chest, angulation, length of necks, length of tail and length of back; which Rough Collies seem to be losing.
It was also amazing to have so many veterans in the ring strutting their stuff.
Rough Collies
Class 1 Veteran Dog (3,1)
1st Bartram: Ambartr King of The Ring - 9y3m This richly coloured S/W dog looks all male, beautiful moulded head which gave a lovely collie expression, flowing into a great long arched neck good depth of chest and good rib cage, good fore chest, height to length ratio v good. Slight rise over the loin. Great front and rear angulation.
2nd Alexander: Ingledene Aramis Aw(S) - Two day short of turning 8yrs old mahogany sable male head- nice almond eyes, good under jaw, I would prefer less stop. Strong neck, straight upper arm, good length to body. Slight rise over loin.
Class 2 Minor Puppy Dog (1,0)
1st Cooper: Ambartr Hearts Of Steel From Kelekona -7 months Still developing. Needs to fill in muzzle, a bit fine in head for me. Good scissor bite. Nice almond shaped eyes, Well placed tipped ears . Good fore chest, straight front legs. Nice tight feet. Lovely long neck. Good rib cage. Nice length of body. Good angulation front and rear. Lovely rich coloured coat. Good length of tail.
Class 3 Puppy Dog (1,1)
Class 4 Junior Dog (1,0)
1st Williams: Mejola Endeavour -12mths sable masculine male. Lovely head, filled muzzle, nice almond shaped eye and well tipped ears. Good fore chest, straight front legs good angulation front and rear. Good length of body, lovely long tail. Great future for this young lad.
Class 5 Yearling Dog (3,0)
1st Randall: Ladnar Call My Name JW – masculine blue merle of good colour, 1y 8mths, best fore chest Ive ever felt on a dog, Nice fill of muzzle, well sprung rib cage? Strong neck, lovely length of back, good length of tail Move nicely around the ring. In the line up not to keen to move or use his ears.
2nd Congdon: Aaronwell Ask The Question – 1y1m old s/w dog Head was a little fine for me. Nice almond shapes eyes has well tipped ears. Nice length of neck and good fore chest. Good lay of shoulder. Well sprung ribs. Was a bit fidgety and the wind didn’t help much. Good angulation front and , moved well. Slightly shorter in body. Good length of tail.
3rd French: Breckamore Paddington
Class 6 Post Graduate Dog (5,2)
1st Collino: Imaginist A Griffin’s Mark – Good head and forechest, nice arched neck of good length, good rear angulation, good length of back looks like a male, eye a little light, good length of tail.
2nd Gatt: Imaginist Superior Sun With Bearven – all male nice head dk eye good length of back, good length of tail and happy with his tail very good angulations but very unsettled
3rd Gatt/Harvey: Classic Scots Patrick Swayze (Imp Deu)
Class 7 Limit Dog (6,4)
1st Ross: Siluto Blue Wizzard At Amberwish - 3yrs 4mth old Blue Merle. Nice almond shaped eyes, ears a little wide. Good forechest, muscular, well arched good length of neck, deep chest well sprung rib cage. Balanced angulation, nice length of tail moved well
2nd Skinner: Ladnar Makeithappen For Nikal – 3yrs 2mth Blue Merle nice coloured coat. Well filled muzzle, nice almond shaped eye, not too keen using his ears today. Good reach of neck, well sprung ribs and depth of chest. Nice rear angulation, a bit low on the pasterns. Good length of tail.

Class 8 Open Dog (2,1)
1st Williams: Mejola Top Gun JW – 2yrs 9mths Lovely moulded male head, skull a little flared, strong good length neck, good fore chest, well sprung ribs and deep chest, good length of body. Good angulations, strong rear drive.
Class 9 Veteran Bitch (5,2)
1st Philpin: Sassari Snow Shimmer For Tudorlyn – 10yrs10mths young merle. Nice head, good fill of muzzle, well tipped ears, good forechest, would have liked more neck, well laid shoulders, good angulations. Pasterns a bit weak but age catches up with us all, beautiful long tail.
2nd Collino: Imaginist Willow Wren – 9yrs 8mths young tri. Feminine head, good under jaw, lovely dk almond shape eyes, lovely tipped ears. Good fore chest, week on pasterns good length of body, good length of tail, moved ok.
3rd Wensley/Wensley: Imaginist Spellbinding With Versatillis
Class 10 Minor Puppy Bitch (2,0)
1st Cooper: Kelekona Pearls Of Hope- 6mths old Lovely shape collie, beautiful rich sable, fine head good fore chest, good depth of chest, good rear angulation, nice rise over loin, lovely long tail. Needs to develop. Will watch with interest.
2nd Bartrm: Ambartr Scarlet Sky’s – 7mths old, nice head, with lovely expression, nice almond shaped eyes and ear bang on top, lovely long neck, rich sable coat. Chest needs to drop but she is still young. Good rear angulation and moved with drive. Has a beautiful long tail.

1st Bartram: Ambartr Scarlet Sky’s- As Above
Class 12 Junior Bitch (3,0)
1st Williams: Mejola Some Girls Do – Lovely feminine girl 1yr old, nicely moulded head, ears bang on top and used well, would like a little more under jaw, super angulations, fair length of neck, deep chest and well sprung ribs. Slight rise over loin. Very attentive to handler
2nd Brand: Uffspring Une Fleur – 1y 2mths old merle. Nice head dk almond shaped eyes, Very good fore chest, Straight front legs, good angulations would like a little more length in legs. Beautifully groomed. Very unsettled
3rd Collino: Imaginist Frozen In Time
Class 13 Yearling Bitch (5,2)
1st Congdon: Aaronwell All About Elsa – 1y1m old s/w feminine girl, nice dk almond eyes and correctly placed tipped ears using them all the time stop a little too deep for me. Lovely arched neck. Good fore chest and well sprung rib and deep chest. Body length and coupling ideally I’d like more length in both. Good rear angulation. Lovely tight neat feet.
2nd Williams: Mejola Edge Of Glory – 1 yr s/w female pleasing head with correct stop dk almond shaped eyes, ear a little heavier than 1 and good under jaw. Good fore chest and angulations. Deep chest. Lovely length of tail.
3rd Bartram: Ambartr’s The Legacy Of Wicani -
Class 14 Post Graduate Bitch (4,1)
This class all three had the best fore chest of all the bitch classes
1st Stillwell: Wicani That’s Amore With Bellawave – 2y 9m old shaded sable, head of good length with slight but preceptible stop. Almond shape eyes, a bit light, I would prefer darker. Lovely long neck and length of body, good angulation front and rear. Moved with ease around the ring.
2nd Bartram: Ambartr Dignity And Pride – rich s/w 1y 11m with lovely feminine head beautifully tipped ears adding to a lovely expression. Nice length of neck flowing in well constructed forequarters good length of back slight rise over loin good length of tail moved well just unsettled today.
3rd Pearson: Brilyn Make Me Smile At Garbh -

1st Congdon: Aaronwell Able Mabel – 2y11m Feminine s/w bitch, dk almond shaped eyes, ears set wide but nicely tipped ample length of neck good fore chest balanced through out, move well
2nd Congdon: Ch Riverside Song Desiderata At Aaronwell – 6y8m old s/w feminine girl pleasant head, nice rounded muzzle dk almond shaped eye well tipped ears widely set, ample neck, good angulation front and rear. Well balanced.
3rd Williams: Ch Mejola Main Event JW

Class 17 Puppy Dog or Bitch (0,0)

1st Benton: Ch Blamorder Double Or Quits of Oakestelle – 1y11m old This young blue merle bitch has forged her way into the show world with grace and style. She has a lovely moulded head correct stop beautiful tipped ears which she used. Good fore chest. Strong firm arched neck, good lay of shoulder, good spring of rib and deep chest. Good length of back and slight rise over loin. Strong muscled and good rear angulation tight neat arched feet, beautiful long tail. Moved well.
2nd French/Swann: Breckamore Bobby Dazzler For Swanndale – 1y3m old s/w Has a lovely masculine moulded head. Firm strong arched neck flowing into good lay of shoulder and good return of upper arm. Chest not as deep as 1 but still developing. Nice length of back, well angulated, tail length ok and nice arched tight feet.
3rd Wensley: Blamoder Starstruck By Versatilis – 1y3m old
Class 19 Post Graduate Dog or Bitch (0,0)
Class 20 Limit Dog or Bitch (1,0)
1st Bemelmans: Oakestelle Asteria – 8y10m Feminine Tri girl well tipped ears, eye a bit round for me, good forechest straight front legs, upper arm a bit short, lovely length of body and good rear angulations with slight rise over loin. Lovely arched feet
Class 21 Open Dog (1,0)
1st Wensley: Ch Int Ch Ir Swiss Sh Ch Constella Hazy Cosmic Jive Jw - 4y7m Tri Dog masculine head piece eyes of round shape but dk in colour. Nice under jaw. Good fore chest and straight front legs. Strong arched neck, nice level top line and good length of body, good angulations front and back. Arch feet but not tight . Lovely length of tail
Class 22 Open Bitch (2,0)
1st Benton: Ch Oakestelle Artemis Shcex Vw – 8y10m blue merle lovely to watch her move around the ring with grace. Nicely moulded head, nice dk almond eyes and using ears made for a lovely facial expression, good strong arched neck, good forchest, deep chest and well sprung ribs, solid firm girl with good angulations and beautiful long tail with a swirl.
2nd Benton: Ch Brackenhaye Queen Of Hearts Of Oakestelle – 6y1m Tri girl with beautiful sweet expression using her lovely shapes eyes and well set and tipped ears. Strong muscular neck, straight front legs, good angulations. I would have like a bit more length in coupling. Low set and nice length of tail.
