I wish to thank Chris and her lovely committee for inviting me to judge their Best in Show awards at their friendly and well run show at a new super venue.
Thank you to both judges for two top class exhibits to challenge for BIS, was a close decision.

Best In Show
Smooth Collie: Ch Constella Hazy Cosmic Jive JW
Tri boy that I have given CC to, His head planes are good, no sign of flareness, good mouth, nice round muzzle, correct stop, nice dark eye, flat skull, good earset and used well. Long arch neck into good shoulder placement, deep chest, nice length of back, rise over loin, well let down hocks. Good feet. Movement was excellent, with reach and drive.

Rough Collie: Takhisis Daggers at Dawn JW
Lovely S/W lad. Standing I loved this boys shape, his length of neck to length of back ratio was spot on, good tail length and nice hocks, good front and rear angulations. His body was covered in a perfect amount of coat, groomed to perfection, correct texture and not over done. His head is a bit shorter than I would like with a bit too much stop for me. But he has a sweet expression and used his ears well. Having just come out of the challenge for BOB Rough, he wasn’t as fresh on the move as the smooth, and wasn’t keen in going into the corners. However he bucked up his ideas for the challenge for RBiS over a super smooth girl and his kept his topline and shape and couldn’t be denied RBiS.

Smooth Collie: Blamorder I Dreamed a Dream at Wystry
9 mths tri girl, good head planes, nice wedge shape, has correct stop and dark eyes. Good ear carriage, long neck into good shoulder placement, front developing still, long back, lovely rise over loin, well let down hocks, good feet. Movement was good with reach and drive but topline needs to tighten up but that should come with time.

Rough Collie: Ladnar Call My Name
Baby of just 6 months, Nice size and all male, head still developing but has too much stop for me, ears used well, long neck, good shoulders, long back, good rear angles. Beautiful feet. His body is covered in an immaculate, lovely blue coat and presented to perfection as you would expect from this kennel. However a long day for this baby and he didn’t put his best effort in on the move so had to give way to the movement of the smooth collie. I have no doubt this boy will have a fun puppy career. 

Best Veteran in Show:
Rough Collie: Lynmack Starman at Lemivee
As no Smooth Veteran, this lovely S/W lad was automatically BVIS. Head is shorter than I would like, and has too much stop for me, ears are tipped heavy but used well. His face shows a real gentleman charm and he has eyes only for his handler which he clearly adores. Would prefer more neck but has adequate front angulation. Nice length in back, rise over loin, well let down hocks. Decent tail length. A male of good size and coat was immaculate. He was well presented and showed to advantage, moved steady from all angles. Nice lad with super temperament.

Rough Collie: Imaginist Willow Wren
Lovely tri girl, with classic head with lovely lines, dark eye giving good expression. Good ear set, used well. Lovely long neck into good shoulder placement. Nice length of back into good rise over loin, long tail, carried well. Moved with drive and purpose
