YORKSHIRE COLLIE CLUB OPEN SHOW
24TH MAY 2025

My thanks to the Officers and Committee of Yorkshire Collie Club for the kind invitation to judge this lovely show.  Thank you to my stewards for their hard work and finally to the exhibitors who brought their lovely dogs.

SB d/b 4(2) 1.  Bartram’s Ambartr’s Dignity & Pride.  Sable dog with lovely clean head of correct flat skull, no flare through the cheeks, kind eye and good chin.  Well angled throughout.  Slight rise over croup into strong hocks.  Good length of tail.  Well presented.  Moved well.   2.  Gatt’s Wicani Belladonna.  Young tricolour bitch, well constructed throughout. Pretty head with sweet expression, level topline, good angulation throughout.  Moved a little erratically but improved as she gained confidence. Well presented.  One to watch.

MPD 1 (0). 1.  Harvey’s Wicani Star of Adam. Very attractive blue dog of 8 months.  Correct head and lovely expression. Well arched neck into nicely sloping shoulder, good length of upper arm and good, straight forelegs.  Good bone. Strong hindquarters. Well let down hocks.  Lovely long tail.  Moved soundly and well enough for his age.

PD 3 (1) 1. Randall’s Ladnar Call My Name. Upstanding masculine blue merle dog of 9 months.  Correct wedge shaped head, well set ears, blunt muzzle.  Very nicely angulated throughout with a slight rise over loins.  Another with a good long tail.  Neat feet.  Moved very well. BP, BPIB, BPIS.  2. Allsopp’s Aqualita Majestic.  Sable/white male of 11 months.  Lovely head shape, expression a little spoiled by his reluctance to use his ears.  Good long neck leading to a body of correct proportions.  Strong legs and good feet.  Moved ok.   Look forward to seeing this one develop.

JD. 3 (0) This was an interesting class to judge.  All 3 exhibits were impressive, showing considerable quality, but as was to be expected, all displayed faults related to their age and development.    Nevertheless, lots of potential in each of these males. 1.Tilley’s Gemheid May’d of Amber for Detillio.  Upstanding, elegant sable/white male of 13 months.   Correct head with slight stop, no flare through cheeks, dark almond eye giving sweet expression.  Good teeth.  Good front assembly with decent heart room, correctly sloping shoulder and good spring of rib.   Strong back to a slight rise over loin.  However, his youth showed in his movement which was less than fluent and, although this may have been in part due to the flooring, his stride was rather choppy.  I’m hopeful that this will improve with his development.    Did enough to win this class.  Very well presented. 2.Boyd, Gallagher & McGill’s Gemheid May’d In Black With Stregato. Very attractive tricolour dog who I later discovered was sibling to (1).  Many of his attributes mirrored his brother but his head wasn’t quite finished at this stage.  Very well angulated throughout and good straight legs with decent amount of bone.  A little bit uncoordinated in his movement but I would expect that to improve as he matures. It was a close call between these first two dogs. 3.Randall’s Ladnar Call Me Maybe.

GD 2(1) 1. Dodsworth’s Libanel Everlasting Charm 3 year old tricolour dog, a little broad in skull but kind expression.  Ears a little light today.  Would prefer a little more neck.  Good front assembly.  Moved ok.   PG 3(2). 1. Ross’ Siluto Blue Wizzard At Amberwish.  2 year old blue merle with a decent head, appealing expression and nice dark eyes.  Good front, well sprung ribs and nice length of body on strong legs.  Correct rise over loins.  Moved well.

LD 2 (0). 1. Cooper’s  Kelekona Hearts of Gold Jw. Classic type sable & white dog who stood and showed very well although reluctant to use his ears.  Correct head with good flat skull, no flare through the cheeks, dark eye and well-set ears.  Good angulation throughout.  Moved very well. RBD   2. Farthing’s Didek Once in a Blue Moon. Handsome blue merle dog with a well sculpted head, good front and good length of body.  Was a little reluctant to allow me to go over him.  Moved ok.

OD 3 (0) Allsopp’s Aqualita Its a Miracle, 5 year old Masculine tricolour dog of quality with correct wedge-shaped muzzle, flat skull, & good bite.  Nice eye and expression.  Sadly, reluctant to use his ears.  Good construction throughout and moved with power around the ring.  Tail carried a little high but not over back BD.  2.  Leese’s Essanjay Fields of Gold for Firesaga.  5 year old shaded sable dog.  Nice shaped head and neat ears, when he chooses to use them.  Good length of body.  Correct front but less powerful hind assembly.  Moved ok. 3. Tilley’s Ingledene Dark Moon Risin Over Detillio.

VB. 2 (1). Benton’s Ch. Brooklynson Jane Russell Of Oakestelle Vw ShCex.  This bitch doesn’t disappoint and is one I have judged previously.  Beautiful head with slight stop and wonderful expression.  Always alert and using her ears, correctly shaped eyes exuding kindness.  Superb angulations front and rear.  Wonderful long tail.  Her movement is exceptional and belies her years!  Standing proudly and with dignity, she is the ultimate showgirl  BVB, BVIB, RBVIS.  MPB 2 (0) 1.Gatt’s Wicani Belladonna BPB. 2. Beardsworth’s Wicani Dulcibella Gyda Maysinder litter sister to (1) but slighter in build and ears were very light.  Angulation good but still very narrow in front.  She moved very well, was well presented and is a beautiful colour but needs more time.

PB. 1 (1).

JB. 3(2). 1.  Bartram’s Ambartr’s Dignity & Pride

MB 2(0) 1. Beardsworth’s Wicani Dulcibella Gyda Mysinder.  2.Bartram’s May Queen. Very attractive sable bitch with a correct head, slight stop and clean through the cheeks.  Good front assembly and strong hindquarters. A little unsettled on the move which cost her the class.  Hopefully she will settle as she matures.  GB.  1. Bartram’s Ambartr May Queen, 2. Dodsworth’s Libanel Everlasting Dezire, blue merle bitch with a clean head and good stop.  Front assembly was correct but on the move she appeared very low on her pasterns.  Possibly this was due to her not being comfortable on the floor or maybe because she was carrying a little too much weight.

PGB. 5(2). 1. Harvey’s Afterhero Cheeky Angel At Wicani (Imp).   Very feminine 2 year old blue merle bitch.  Compact, alert, active and beautifully constructed, this young lady charms her way into your heart.  Pretty head of correct wedge shape, no flare through cheeks, tight ears and well set eyes giving a sweet expression.  Well angulated throughout.  On the move,  I would prefer to see a little more forward reach but very few moved well on this floor. RBB, RBOB 2. Rose’s Beldones Clementine Avec Coloratura.  3 year old sable bitch who has a pretty head and a correct outline.   Sound in movement and showed very well.  3. Bartram’s Ambratr Eternal Spirit.

LB 7 (1). My class of the day!  There were some real beauties in this class!  1.Gallagher’s  Stregato My Silver Tassie With Gemheid. My stand-out girl for the day!  2 year old blue bitch constructed on strong yet elegant lines.   Good for bone but this doesn’t detract from her femininity.  Polished, proud, dignity exuding from every pore.  Well-shaped head with sweet expression held on an arched neck of good length into a good sloping shoulder and return of upper arm.  Excellent deep chest and level topline.  Slight rise over loins into long tail. Strong hind assembly.  Neat feet.  Showed non-stop and moved very well in a balanced rhythm with a good length of stride BB, BOB  2.Rose’s Uffspring Ultravox for Coloratura. Attractive 6 year old tricolour bitch with a pretty, feminine head. Ears on top, which she used to advantage.  Kind eye, no flare through cheeks, good flat back skull.  Her body shape is correct and well angulated throughout.  Stood and showed very well.  Although not an extravagant mover, she moved very well.    Overall, she presented a lovely picture.  3. Harvey’s Wicani Blue Myrabella. Striking blue bitch who is elegant and although near the top of the range for height, manages to retain her femininity.  Well-shaped head, neat ears correctly set, kind eyes, good lip line and teeth, lovely flat skull and clean through the cheeks.  Sweet expression.  Her body is in the correct proportion, and she is well angulated throughout.  Nice, neat feet.  Well balanced throughout.  Moved with correct daisy-cutter action and a good length of stride.

OB. 1(0). Cooper’s Lillith Nar Sule of Kelekona.  5 year old attractive sable bitch.  Constructed along classic lines, this girl has a lovely head and expression with neat ears and a kind eye.  Well angulated throughout and moved out very well confirming her good construction.  Very attentive to her handler and very well presented.
