Rough Collies

Thank you to the Committee for inviting me to judge the Open Show and to my two stewards who helped me enormously to make sure everything went well and thank you to all those who entered. The weather which started with thunderstorms forced us to use the hall rather than the outside rings which I am told was a very rare occurrence, however everyone coped extremely well and produced a really enjoyable day.

Dogs

Veteran (1,0) Scamps Aaronwell Ayebeecee at Marketdene, Nicely presented tri, ten years old with good male head, well placed ears, parallel head planes, muscled with good well bent stifles, moved quite well holding his topline.

Minor Puppy (2,2)

Puppy  (0,0)

Junior (1,0) 1. Berry’s ‘Twas Baron of Virgina (Imp USA), 14 month tri boy with good head and muzzle properties, nice eyes with correctly positioned tipped ears, moved quite well but his tail carriage was a little to high and he needed to settle more on the move.

Special Yearling (3,0) 1. Geddes, Ingledene Absolute Legend, Lovely tri 21 months with the deepest of black coats and beautiful deep tan marking and well fitted coat. Strong masculine head with well placed ears correct stop and nicely rounded muzzle. Good reach of neck with good overall proportions of height to body length producing a very nice profile. Moved well keeping a good level top line but could have done with just a little move drive from the rear which I’m sure he will gain this as he matures. BD, BOB.

  1. Bolts, Gataj Bonnie Eddie S/W with good head nicely positioned eyes and stop with good reach of neck, used ears well. Moved quite well with good reach but a dog that needs to mature just a little bit more and also gain a touch more muscle at the rear to produce the desired drive.
  2. Berry’s ‘Twas Baron of Virginia (Imp USA)

Novice (1,0) 1, Geddes Ingledene Absolute Legend

Graduate (3,1) 1. Geddes Ingledene Absolute Legend.

  1. Bolt and Cronks Revdvicki’s Raffles at Chelborn Lovely sound Tri with good head and nice reach of neck with good overall proportions giving a pleasing profile. Movement was ok with generally good reach but overall could be improved with a little more rear muscle.

Post Graduate (2,0) 1. Skinner’s Ladnar Make it Happen for Nikal Lovely B/m with clear blue well fitted coat, well presented. Nice masculine head with correctly placed and used ears attentive to handler. Overall proportions were good and which gave a really pleasing profile. Good mover with ample reach from well laid back shoulders, good drive from the rear holding a level top line. RBD.
2 Bolt’s and Hollywood’s Amalie a Chance to Shine, S /W with good male head attentive to handler nicely presented good. Good rear angulation and well bent stifle moved quite well but not as good as 1, and although not detrimental I would have preferred a slightly longer tail to complete a more the overall picture in profile.

Bitch

Veteran (6,2) 1. Bentons CH Brooklynson Jane Russell of Oakestelle VW ShCEx, Very nice S/W beautifully presented, sweet head with correctly placed ears, nice almond eyes giving a lovely expression and also particularly notable is her good reach of neck. Overall proportions are good just a little long in the back for me, her movement is surefooted with excellent drive from the rear. Her excellent condition belies her age and looks to be a much younger dog than she really is. BVB, BVIB, RBVIS.
2 Ware’s Kind of Magic Della Buca Delle Fate at Wassail (Imp ITA) Liked this tri girl with sweet head good ears and head planes. Nice rise of the loin giving a good pleasing appearance in profile. Moved ok didn’t move as well as 1 but she did give the impression that the outside rings would have suited her much better.
3 Skinner’s Samhaven Time is Money with Nikal

Minor Puppy (0,0)

Puppy (1,1)

Junior (3,0) 1 Baker’s Salsina’s My Girl of Marilake Liked this S/W girl a lot, with a well presented fitted coat, nice feminine head, corect eye and ear placement with nicely tipped ears very attentive to handler. Her profile was particularly good with well laid back shoulders, good reach of neck and nice rise of her loin giving a well proportioned girl. Moved well with drive and held her top line giving an overall impression of elegance. RBB
2 Mason’s Willowcombe Dancing Angel with Lynocean S/W with nice sweet head good head planes and correctly tipped ears although her ears were a little too widely spaced for me, good reach of neck front and rear angulation was quite good movement was quite good but didn’t have the drive of 1.
3 Berry’s Rocheview Felicity

Special Yearling (3,0) 1. Baker’s Salsina’s My Girl of Marilake
2 Ware’s Millubie Enchanted at Wassail Nice B/M girl with lovely sweet head nice ears and correct eye shape, her overall shape was very pleasing with good well laid back shoulders and good stifle and in excellent condition muscle-wise. However her movement let her down today, it would have suited her more I feel to have been outside.
3 Berry’s Rocheview Felicity

Novice (2,2)

Graduate (5,3) 1. Bakers Salsina’s My Girl at Marilake
Mason’s Elshajo Loves Gift from Shalune, nice S/W girl with sweet head, good muzzle with correctly shaped eyes and well placed ears which she used to good effect. Her overall proportions were good although a little long in the back. She was a little ‘raw’ at times needing a bit more maturity, despite this she moved quite well.

Post Graduate (2,1) 1. Rae’s Gataj Majestic Hope Very nice girl well presented with good head properties correct ears and almond eyes, well placed stop. Nice profile with good reach of neck in proportion to her size and shape. Movement was good and her topline was kept on the move but could have done with a little more reach today.

Limit (3,1) 1. Beardsworth’s Maysinder Sapphire Reign, Lovely clear B/m that I like a lot. Although lacking in coat today she still shows herself off well. Her construction shows quality with everything in proportion with a particularly good profile. She has good movement coming and going although a little hesitant at times. She well laid back shoulders and good well bent stifles giving both reach and drive while holding holding her topline.
2 Berry’s Atirakin Wild Hialeah Tri with nice head with good head planes, but needed to use her ears more. Of good size and shape with well bent stifles she moved ok, but needed to keep her tail down on the move which was set a little too high for me.

Open (2,0) 1. Ware’s Millubie Essence of Magic at Wassail (Imp SRB),Really liked this tri girl Sweet head, nicely tipped ears, correct stop and lovely almond eyes of correct size. Nice deep black coat and attentive to handler, in very good condition she gave an air of ‘look at me’ she moved very well and I got he impression that outside she would have done even better with her movement, she certainly deserved Best Bitch and made it very difficult for my Best in Breed decision. BB, RBIB.
2 Scamps Aaronwell Allure in Black Nice tri girl with sweet head, good head planes and well rounded muzzle. I liked her overall proportions of height to length which gave a good profile, muscled showing good condition with well bent stifles her movement was quite good but lacking the drive of 1.
