Rough Collie Dogs

My thanks to the SCC for their invitation to judge and their hospitality on the day. Lovely venue, bright and of good size with matting, which most used very happily, though one or two did best to avoid those, preferring the polished floor!  Numerical entries in the lower classes were poor but later classes were very pleasing.

BP, PD (2,1)
1 Kelly Ballahanna Betrayed 11mths sw in lovely order, well developed and in excellent coat. Balanced head, clean through, just a shade fine about muzzle but was nicely rounded and full, well placed stop and good skull. Used well placed ears very nicely to further enhance a sweet, enquiring expression from well placed and shaped, dark eyes. Excellent carriage and set of neck into good shoulders with firm topline and good ribbing. Best of legs and feet with well angled rear, correct over the croup to well set, long and correctly carried tail. BPD BPIS.

1 Gemheid May'd Of Amber For Detillio S/W, good over all, quite pleasing head though slightly dished through stop area, well placed eyes are a little full,  good ears, excellent neck and shoulder, shorter in upper arm, good topline and substance through, could have a little more enthusiasm.
2 Tiganlea Turned To Black  smaller tric and finer all through. Balanced head, dark eyes, slightly heavy ears, good neck and firm topline, croup running off, good angles and substance for overall size, is now between coats, moved soundly.

1 Didek Eclipse Of The Moon attractive bm. Clean, well balanced head with filled muzzle, flat skull, well placed eyes, one dark, other blue, well set ears. Lovely outline and angulation, good neck and shoulder with firm topline, in good coat with clear blue and deep black markings.  Not enjoying the walk away but went well enough on the return.
2 Thistlewings Andromeda At Bracoisla sw  heavier all through. Balanced head, muzzle to skull but running wide with heavy ears, eyes dark and well placed. Good neck, shoulders a little upright, upper arm short, firm topline and good body and rear, in excellent condition. Moved ok.

1 Kourika Frosted Ice 6yo bm easy winner, balanced head, filled muzzle, dark eyes, well placed stop and flat skull, neat, well used ears, all coming together to give him the edge in this class. Nicely balanced overall with good substance and coat in lovely order. Moved sound and free. 2 Thistlewing Fire Dancer At Bryany 3yo sw. Appealing head with good balance and fill, well placed dark eyes, ears wide, good neck, good substance through but a little soft in topline and leaving most of his coat at home,  carries a bit too much weight. Moved ok. 

L (6)
1. Phreelancer Phinal Salute nicely balanced 4yo sw reaching full maturity. Beautifully moulded and well balanced about muzzle and skull, well placed almond and obliquely set dark eyes and neat, well set and used ears produce a very sweet and appealing expression. Ample neck and firm topline, well ribbed and angulated with good substance throughout, in excellent body fitting coat and condition, though I felt he could lose a few pounds to advantage. Moved soundly, keeping animation and a correctly carried tail to win the RCC.
2 Tiganlea Thumbs Up slightly feminine in general outlook, well balanced in head, dark eyes with sweetness of expression, good skull and clean through cheeks, good neck and topline, well made in body and nicely angulated, just carries tail too high, moved free and true.
3 Shanaburn Country Road.

1  Daliyhaa Madtrr Craftsman 3yrs tric in magnificent order, standing in a wonderful harsh and striking black coat with full extended white collar and forelegs. Confident and looking every bit as a Collie should. His head is the standard as it is written, clean lines through, fill of rounded muzzle, slight stop and flat skull, clean underjaw with a chin, without going deep through from skull. Neat, correctly placed ears coming up into show position finish off the beauty, balance and expression. Solidly built with excellent neck and topline, correctly angulated and with good ribbing, balanced fall of croup places a lengthy tail correctly,  he moved effortlessly, up, down, around to take the class and finally BEST DOG and CC, going on to BIS.
2 Ch. Phreelancer Chill Factor  6yo bm another lovely dog by one of my all time favourites ! and masculine without a doubt. Head is well filled and balanced with all desireable features, correct eye and earset, today he was keeping the showside of himself a little down. Super neck and firm topline, shoulders well angulated, well bodied with good ribbing and firm rear. Has a good body and excellent coat in good condition, just a little darker now due to maturity. Moved out soundly but not quite as fluid as winner. 3 Corydon Christopher. 

V (4,2)
1. Wilmaranna Out Of The Blue For Cathbri  8.1/2yo belies his age, fit and agile, excellent head qualities, dark, wrll placed eyes, ears set a little wide, flat skull, well made body, good angles and substance, moved with ease.
2 Culbrae Red Again very sweet golden sw 8yo, fine in foreface with dark eyes, smaller neat ears, good neck, well made in body with good substance and in excellent coat. Not so happy on floor.

Val Geddes
