PD (10:1) 1. Lockyer’s Gataj I Am Maximus; An 8 month old Black Tri of good breed type. He has a nice head with balance throughout, a flat skull and a good dark eye which is correctly placed. He is well bodied for his age, with good angulation all round and is maturing nicely. Presented in a pristine coat which was a credit to his owner. Moved well when viewed from all directions. A very promising prospect for the future, BPD. 2. Ross’ Samshernik Majestic Boy; A pleasing 7-month-old Sable who presents a typical outline which is in proportion and nicely balanced. Good head properties with nice ears which he used well. Classic white collar which showed off his good reach of neck. Body shape is developing nicely and is correct for his age. Presented in lovely coat and condition. Moved well for a puppy but just preferred the slightly better reach of the first. 3. Allsopp & Allsopp’s Aqualita Majestic.
JD (6:0) 1. Geddes’ Ingledene Absolute Legend; a 13-month-old promising Black Tri who has a masculine, breed typical head. The head is a nice blunt wedge with good eye shape and well used ears. Nice neck and shoulders with a good straight front. Pleasing outline and body shape which is in proportion and well balanced. Good rear angulation. He has a nice coat which was presented in good condition. Moved very well with a good side gait and showed both reach & drive. A lovely young male. 2. Lockyer’s Gataj Perfect Timing; An 11 month old and I liked his head, ears and eye shape. Neck is of good length, and he has reasonable shoulders, straight front and good rear angulation. Would just prefer a touch more length of back. Nice coat and condition and moved well. Just preferred the outline of the winner in this class, but a close decision. 3. Edwards & Bluck’s Beldones Mojito.
PGD (7:1) 1. Ross’ Siluto Blue Wizzard At Amberwish; A nearly 2 year old Blue Merle. Lovely head planes, good eye shape and well used ears which gave a masculine expression. Good reach of neck onto a straight front. Nice size for a male and he is well bodied with good angulation to front and rear. He moves well with a positive action, but was just a touch flighty with his tail which can detract from his outline on the move, however on this occasion it did not stop him taking the class. 2. Gelder’s Libanel Erebus Eternal Love; A 2.5 year old Black Tri. Reasonable head with correct eye shape and well used ears but would just prefer it to be a touch stronger. Reasonable neck and shoulders onto a straight front. Good body and rear angulation, he was presented in nice coat and condition. Movement was alright but would prefer a touch more rear drive. 3. Dix’s Barrenclough Diamond Skies.
LD (10:1) A nice class, headed by 2 lovely males. 1. Williams’ Mejola Top Gun JW; An 18 month old, classically marked Shaded Sable who presents a clean outline and excels for breed type. Masculine head, which is balanced throughout with good eye shape, and well set ears, giving him a lovely expression. Good neck and front assembly, pleasing body shape and correct hindquarters. Presented beautifully and really comes into his own on the move with a very smooth easy action, which gave him the edge in this class. One I considered for higher awards in the challenge but in the end, he just lost out on maturity to the top 2 in OD. I am sure however he will have a very successful career ahead of him. 2. Vescan’s Phreelancer Phinal Salute; A 3 year old Shaded Sable with many similar attributes to the winner. Good head planes, nice eye shape and well used ears which gave a pleasing masculine expression. Good neck and front, well bodied and good angulation to the rear. Presented in lovely coat and condition. Good on the move, but not quite the reach and drive of the winner, however overall, still a very nice exhibit. 3. Brodie’s Shanaburn Country Road.
OD (8:0) Another lovely class, full of quality with some good dogs having to go cardless today ! 1. Beaden’s Marvalan Spirit Of Rock (Imp Pol); A 5 year old very masculine, classically marked, Black Tri presented in full bloom. Striking head with good moulding and balance throughout, showing correct underjaw, nice eye shape and well used ears. Good neck reaching onto well placed shoulders and a correct front. Well bodied and nice rear assembly. Presented in lovely condition with an abundant coat. Very positive on the move in all directions. He was pushed very hard in this class by 2 and then in the challenge by the LD winner, but his overall outline and greater maturity just gave him the decision when making the top award. Pleased to award him the CC – after the show I was informed that this was his third and crowning CC. Congratulations. 2. Blake’s Corydon Christopher; a 2 year old classically marked Sable who excels for breed type. Masculine head, correct eyes, and well set ears & pleasing expression. A lovely neck and front assembly and enough bone with a straight front. Well-developed body nicely angulated, strong hindquarters and presents a lovely outline. He was presented in excellent coat and condition and was handled to best advantage. His movement was clean and precise as you would expect from his lovely conformation. Pushed very hard for the top spot today. I was pleased to award him the RCC in very good competition. 3. Lockyer’s Ch Gataj Turn Back Time JW. A quality champion dog who could well take top awards on another day.
VD (2:0) 1. Jones’ Brooklynson Black Diamond With Dancol; A 7 year old classically marked Black Tri, who looks to be in his prime. Masculine head and expression, good head planes, correct eye shape and well used ears. Enough length of neck, with good angles to both front and rear. Mature in body with good depth of chest and presented in lovely coat and condition. He moved well around the ring with a steady action and well deserved his BVD and BVIB awards. 2. Boyle’s Barrenclough Heart Of Gold JW; Another 7 year-old who looks well for his age. A mature Shaded Sable, who has a well-balanced head with typical breed attributes. He has a good front, nice depth of chest and well angulated hindquarters. Presented in plenty of coat which was in good condition. Moves well in side gait but a touch close in his rear action today.
SBD (4:1) 1. Boyle’s Barrenclough Heart Of Gold JW; Second in VD. 2. Gelder’s Libanel Erebus Eternal Love; Second in PGD. 3. Walton’s Sassari Smudge.
PB (14:3) A super class with so many exciting prospects for the future. With no MPB class this made for a real judging challenge as it had puppies at all stages of maturity, but I think the breed is in good shape with so many lovely youngsters on show. 1. Lockyer’s Gataj All That Glitters; An 8 month old Sable who completely took my breath away. Absolutely exudes breed type with a beautiful feminine head that is so balanced, with correct head planes and lovely tipped ears, giving a fabulous expression. Correct neck and good shoulders, enough chest for her age and lovely rear conformation. Although in puppy coat it was presented in fabulous condition. On the move she was completely in tune with her handler, and she glided around the ring showing reach, drive and complete balance. She pushed very hard for the top spot but lost out narrowly to a very classy LB. I was thrilled though to award her BPB, BPIB & RCC. Congratulations and I will follow her career with interest. 2. Shipp & Shipp’s Tremaro Million Dollar Baby; Another 8 month old attractive Sable of good breed type. Lovely, balanced head and feminine expression. She has good neck and shoulders with a straight front. Body and coat developing nicely and good rear angulation. Moves well but not quite with the power and smoothness of the winner. 3. Beaden’s Myriehewe Diamonds. Yet another lovely puppy in a very strong class.
JB (9:2) 1. Blake’s Corydon Christiana; An 8 month old Sable puppy right out of the top drawer. Feminine head shape, good eye placement & well used ears and the sweetest of expressions. Maturing nicely with good angulation to front and rear, good body shape and outline. Coat presented in excellent condition and handled very well to get the best out of her on the move. Another one I considered in the challenge for the CC and then RCC. I note from my catalogue that she is the daughter of my Dog RCC winner, and I am sure she also has a super future ahead of her. 2. Growcott’s Chantique Sent From Heaven For Lillyway; A 16 month old Sable who is developing nicely for her age. She has a good head and nice eye shape, and well placed ears. Reasonable neck and shoulder angulation and she is developing a pleasing body outline. Coat is coming in nicely & was in good condition. She moved well, but did not quite have the smoothness of 1. 3. Williams’ Essanjay Heartbreaker.
PGB (7:2) 1. Radford-House & Durrant’s Kiss Me Kate Di Cambiano At Fivejays (Imp Ita); A 2 year old Shaded Sable with good head properties, nice eye shape and well used ears. Correct neck and good shoulder angulation with a straight front. Presented in a good coat and condition and moved around the ring smoothly which just tipped the class in her favour. 2. Lockyer’s Gataj Exotic Girl; A 16 month old Sable who is very feminine with a lovely balanced head, well used ears and a sweet expression. Good reach of neck, shoulders are ok for angulation. She has a lovely outline, and her coat is coming in nicely. Good rear angulation and tail set. She moved well but just preferred the slightly better reach and drive of 1 today. 3. Shipp & Shipp’s Tremaro Kind Of Magic.
LB (13:3) 1. Walder & Walder,’s Roughrigg Red Lagertha JW; A super quality 2-year-old Shaded Sable who excels for breed type. Lovely feminine head, correct eye shape and well used ears. Neck is of good length and is set onto well angulated shoulders, with straight front legs. Well-developed across the chest and has lovely spring of rib. Firm topline and a pleasing outline with moderate, strong hindquarters. She is an ideal size for a bitch, and everything is in complete balance and proportion. Her coat and conditioning were of the highest quality. Her handler also has to be mentioned for presenting her so elegantly to show off her fabulous, smooth driving movement around the ring. I was thrilled to award her the CC & BoB in a very strong line up. Her second I was informed later, and it can only be a matter of time before she gains her crown. Congratulations; an absolute pleasure to judge. 2. Lockyer’s Gataj All That Sparkles; a beautiful 2 year old Sable who is ultra feminine. Lovely head piece with good wedge muzzle, correct eye shape and sweet expression, with correctly placed ears. Nicely bodied, well angulated to both front and rear with strong hocks which moved her smoothly around the ring. Presented in top quality coat and condition. Another bitch that I considered seriously for higher awards on the day. 3. Ross’ Timeless Touch At Samshernik.
OB (7:4) 1. Mellish’s Demelewis Double Take; a super quality 4-year-old Black Tri who has a lovely feminine head, dark well-shaped eyes and neat responsive ears. Well-proportioned forequarters, mature in body, with a good topline and moderately angled hindquarters. She presents a balanced outline with everything in proportion. Presented in good coat and condition. Moved well at all times to make her a comfortable winner of this class. 2. Farthing’s Aldreen Illusion In Blue For Didek; A 5 year old Blue Merle. She has a balanced head, good eye shape and well used ears. Good shoulders, straight front and nice rear angulation. Presented in lovely coat and condition with well broken merle markings. Well bodied which gives her a pleasing outline. Moved ok around the ring but preferred the better reach and drive of 1. 3. Llewellyn’s Artzaiak Strawberry Rose For Salsina Imp Esp.
SBB (4:0) 1. Boyle’s Timeless Destiny Star Actis Over Barrenclough JW; A 20 month old Shaded Sable. Balanced head and nice expression. Front angulation is ok, but she needs to tighten up a little in elbow as she matures. Body is sufficient for her age, and she has moderately angulated hindquarters. Presented in nice coat and condition. Won the class on her greater maturity and better movement than the rest of the class. 2. Bartram’s Ambartr Written In The Stars; A 7 month old Black tri who is top sized for her age. Very raw throughout and her head is still developing, but she has correct eye shape and well placed ears. Front assembly is ok, and her chest and body will strengthen as she matures. Reasonable rear angulation. Took some time to settle on the move but was ok when she got into her stride. 3. Clark-Kerr’s Salsina Love Me Do.
