The London Collie Club CH. Show 08/06/2025
Many thanks to the committee of the London Collie Club for inviting me to judge the Rough Collie Bitches and the mixed Rough/Smooth baby puppy classes at this prestigious show . Also a big thank you to my very able stewards for their assistance and to my co-judge Mrs Anita Fox for her deliberations.
I really enjoyed my day and was delighted with the success of some of my main winners in the' In Show' awards .
Overall I was pleased with the bitches presented but must repeat the warnings of some previous judges this year in that several entrants were very overweight , a problem that must be addressed if dogs are to achieve their full potential .
Baby Puppy Rough and Smooth (5)
All the entrants in this class were Smooth Collies who will change places in the future . However , today, it was great to see all five babies enjoying their experience .

1st Wensley's - Blamorder Starstruck - 5 month s/w who was the most confident and well schooled puppy . She has a good neck and outline and carries a good body . Her head is developing nicely with well placed and used ears and sweet dark eyes . Moved well for her age , should have a bright future .
2nd Lusty's - Manordeifi Highjacked by Blamorder NAF ,TAF - a male, just slightly older than 1st but not quite as forward . Good neck and topline, and well constucted . Ears a little heavy at the moment but head coming together nicely .Stood and showed well and moved ok .
3rd - Lay's - Juniperwood Candy Store

Minor Puppy (3,1)
1st - Perrott,s - Lynmead Starstruck - 7 months s/w who showed herself off to advantage and was well presented . Nice outline with a good neck and length of back. Head is developing well with enough stop , and well shaped dark eye .Ears are well placed and used but slightly heavy at present . Moved ok for her age .
2nd Carlton's - Lynmead Dresses the Stars of Sambreeze - litter sister to 1 and similar comments apply. She is shorter in head but developing well . Has good body and bone and good bend of stifle for a youngster and carries ample coat which was well presented . Moved ok
Puppy (4)
1st - Baker,s - Salsina's My Girl of Marilake - 11month s/w mature puppy .Pleasing head with correct stop , neat well used ears and sweet eye and expression. Good length of neck and topline with slight rise over the loins . Good depth of body and nicely angulated front and rear . Carries a wealth of coat which was well presented . Moved well in front , just a touch close behind . Best Puppy Bitch
2nd - Scott's Chantique Wi The Fairies - Beautiful presentation on this s/w puppy of 9 months . A little smaller in stature than 1st but still well balanced .Pleasing head with correct stop , sweet eye and expression and well placed and used ears. Good neck and outline and correct amount of body for size .good bone and neat feet and moved ok.
3rd - Jackson's - Sassari Made Me Sweet
Junior (4,2)
1st - Llewellyn's - Salsina Blushing Rose - just out of puppy but still in great coat and condition . Daughter of the BiS winner and similar in many ways . Has a beautifully balanced head of good length. Correct stop, well rounded muzzle and good underjaw . The sweetest of eyes and well used ears .Good strong neck and nicely constucted front . Good length of back and nice body and bone. Moved ok in front but needs to tighten up at rear .
2nd - Lockyer,s - Gataj All That Glitters - s/w of good type .Correct head with enough stop, dark eye and well used ears. Flat skull, good neck and topline . Good body and bone and moved ok .Going out of coat now but what she had was well presented .

Graduate (5,2)
1st - Tame's - Gataj Time After Time at Rahlissa - 2year old s/w in good coat and condition. Nicely balanced with a good length of neck and back . Nice rise over the loins and good tailset . Nice depth of body with good front angulation and good bend of stifle at the rear. Head handles well with correct stop, good muzzle and underjaw, sweet dark almond eyes and well used ears . Nicely presented and moved well .
2nd - Lockyer's - Gataj Time For Love - well presented s/w of good size. Head has correct stop ,rounded muzzle and good underjaw and well shaped eye . Ears are well placed and when she uses them has a delightful expression , just reluctant today . Good body with substance and moved ok .
3rd - Growcott's - Chantique Sent From Heaven For Lillyway
Post Grad (7,5)
1st - Llewellyn's - -Salsina Feel My Love - 5yr old s/w with a heavy coat . good head type with correct stop , dark eyes and lovely expression. Well rounded muzzle and plenty of underjaw. Nice length of neck but would prefer more length to her back. Good body condition, good front and rear angulation .Well presented and moved ok
2nd - Swain's - A Touch Of Blaze For Lexcol - tri-colour with a jet black coat which was well presented . Pleasing head of good length with correct stop ,and good muzzle and underjaw . Eyes are dark but a touch round . Good neck and length of back but carrying too much weight today which affected her front movement .
Mid Limit (5)
A nice class
1st - McCarte's - Roughrigg One Of A Kind - very nice s/w just coming into her prime. Pleasing head with parallel planes and clean wedge . Correct stop , well placed eye and well used ears which all combine to give a sweet expression .Good in outline with correct shoulder placement and depth of chest. Nice rise over the loin and good angulation at the rear. Presented in good order and moved ok .Just needs to settle herself a little in order to achieve a more steady gait and then should trouble the best .
2nd - Tipper's - Valentine Gucci Angel Sylvestre at Tiganlea - another quality bitch of good type. Nice length of head and body .Correct stop, well rounded muzzle, well shaped dark eye and well placed and used ears. Good body condition and well presented coat. Just failed in front movement today being rather wide .
3rd - Carlton's - Lynmead Royal Beauty of Sambreeze
Limit (6,4)
1st - Llewellyn's - Artzaiak Second Hand Rose at Salsina (Imp Esp) - My star of the day. Very feminine s/w girl in her prime . Presents a lovely picture standing with a super head of good length with correct stop, well rounded muzzle and enough underjaw, good clean wedge with no flaring, well shaped dark eye and very sweet expression . Flat skull and well placed and used ears. Good length of neck and back and a slight rise over the loins.
Good shoulder placement and deep chest, good body and bone and correct angulation at rear . Moved well .Beautifully presented with long feminine furnishings . Delighted to award her the CC which was her third I was told , followed by BOB on the referees decision and ultimately BIS . Many Congratulations
2nd - Lockyer's Gataj All That Sparkles - s/w in good order with a nice head with correct stop and sweet eye and expression .Good in muzzle but would prefer a touch more underjaw. Well used ears but a little wide set. Good neck and outline and good length to back . Well angulated front and rear and good bone and substance .Presented in good coat and condition and moved well.

1st - Scotts's - Chantique Deja Vu - superbly presented golden s/w built on slightly smaller lines but ultra feminine . Well balanced head with correct stop ,well rounded muzzle and good underjaw . Clean wedge, flat skull and lovely dark eyes. Good ear carriage and beautiful expression . Good length of neck and level topline. Nice rise over the loins and good angulation front and rear . Good body with substance and well boned legs and neat feet.
Presents a lovely balanced picture and moved well. Res CC and on the referees decision Res BOB and ultimately Res BIS . Many Congratulations
2nd - McCarte's - Roughrigg Remember Me - s/w with a well balanced outline. Good length of head with correct stop and rounded muzzle. Eyes are dark and expressive and ears positioned and used well .

Veteran (10,7)
1st - Brooker's - Telforth Sweet Dreams to Corisian - such an ambassador for the breed proving how well they can age when cared for as this one has been .Nearly 12 years young and believing she is much younger! Lovely head with the sweetest eye and expression, good muzzle and mouth with teeth in lovely , clean condition . Well placed and used ears. Good neck and topline and good depth of chest. Good bone and body condition. Lovely coat with plenty of furnishings . Moved and showed well.
2nd - Philpin's - Sassari Snow Shimmer for Tudorlyn JW - blue merle of almost 10 years and another who belies her age . Nice head type with correct stop and appealing dark eye. Good muzzle and clean wedge. Good neck and topline and good angulation and bend of stifle . Coat presented in nice condition and lovely colour .Moved well.
