London And Provincial Collie Club 23rd August 2025

Many thanks to the society for the kind invitation to judge rough collies at their double open show, and to the exhibitors for their entry. It was a very enjoyable day with lots of quality dogs to go over making some of the decisions very tough!

Class 1 – Baby Puppy Dog or Bitch 6(1) 1 st - Flower’s Serenlas The Jokerman – Sable Dog of practically 6 mths showing much promise. Lovely head piece with correct expression and lovely tight ears used to advantage. Moved out well for his age demonstrating lovely front and rear angulation. BBP 2 nd William’s Mejola Edge of Glory – Very pretty sable bitch of 5 mths with another lovely headpiece although preferred the slightly tighter ears of 1, she moved out very well for her age and will look forward to seeing how these babies develop.

Class 2 – Veteran Dog 1(0) 1 st - Bartram’s Ambartr King of The Ring – A striking sable dog of 8 years who presents a lovely masculine outline in the stack. Good head piece although I would prefer the stop a little higher and ears a little tighter. Good length of neck on to nicely angulated shoulder with a good deep chest and length of body leading to a balanced outline. Tail of good length correctly set, good rear angulation.

Class 3 – Minor Puppy Dog 0

Class 4 – Puppy Dog – 2(1) 1 st Falletto’s – Verysuper Black Di Cambiano – Tri dog of 9mths. Smart young man who is well presented but needs to fill out as currently a little narrow through. Nice headpiece, although ears a little light, on to good length of neck. Would like a little more angle to the shoulder, good length to back falling into correctly set tail of good length.

Class 5 Junior Dog 4(2) 1 st Randall’s Ladnar Call My Name – Striking Blue Merle Dog of 12mths. This young man has a lovely outline that catches the eye and a fabulous colour. Excellent expression with correctly placed stop and eye placement. Well placed ears of correct size complete the picture. Would like a little more underjaw. Good length of neck into correctly angulated shoulders and balanced rear angulation made for good movement around the ring holding a level topline. He was a little less animated in the challenge. RBD 2 ndBlake’s Corydon The Baronet – A striking Tri boy of 15mths with another lovely headpiece. Lovely wedge-shaped head with correct eye placement and lovely tight ears. Correct underjaw but would like a little more stop. Good length of neck and back giving balanced outline. Not quite the angulation or movement of 1st .

Class 6 Post Graduate Dog 3(0) 1 st Collino’s Imaginist A Griffin’s Mark – Tri Dog of almost 2 yrs. Judged this boy as a raw puppy and nice to see how he has come on. Very masculine with a nice expression and good to see his backskull has improved. Stop is still a bit low, but he has a nice underjaw and eye shape and placement together with good ear placement and uses them well. Nice length of neck flowing into good front and rear angulation leading to a well set on tail of good length. Moved well around the ring. 2 nd – Rowlinson’s Hanvale Alexander McQueen – Two year old sable dog. A little too much stop for me this boy but possessing a nice underjaw and good ear placement. Good front and rear angulation and good length in the back allowing for free movement around the ring. Would like a little more length in tail.

Class 7 Limit Dog 5(3) 1 st Hanson’s Jards Ring Presence – Lovely sable dog of nearly 5 years. Presenting a balanced outline in the stack and possessing a very nice headpiece this boy catches the eye. Would like the ears a bit tighter. Good length of neck flowing into well angulated front with good depth of chest. Good length of back into well angulated rear. Tail set and carried a little high. 2 nd Skinner’s Ladnar Makeithappen For Nikal – Two and a half year old Blue Merle boy of good colour. Nice headpiece with good expression correctly placed stop and head planes. Would like ears a bit tighter. Good front and rear angulation but a little narrow through. Would like a little more length to the tail.

Class 8 Open Dog 4(0) A super class of 4 quality males. 1st William’s Mejola Top Gun – A super sable male of 2 years old. This eye-catching boy draws the eye as soon as he enters the ring. Attractive headpiece with correct expression and lovely underjaw. Correct stop and parallel planes with lovely tight ears of correct size and tipped as required. I would prefer a slightly less flared skull. Good length of neck in to well angulated shoulders balanced with rear angulation. Good depth of chest and back of good length, with correctly set tail carried beautifully on the move made for a flowing effortless movement around the ring maintaining a level topline, which earned him the class and ultimately BD and BOB. Delighted when he went on to be awarded BIS. 2 nd Blake’s Corydon The Grandmasster – 5 year old sable. Another very handsome male showing a lovely outline in the stack and fitting the breed standard beautifully. A lovely expression from good shaped eye and ear placement with correct wedge-shaped skull, although I would prefer a little more definition of stop and underjaw when viewed in profile. Lovely length of neck and balanced angulation also made for flowing movement around the ring. Lovely fitted coat and correctly carried tail completed the picture. Pushed class winner hard.

Class 9 Champion Dog or Bitch 2(1) 1 st William’s Ch Mejola Main Event – Very pretty 4 year old sable bitch. Loved the headpiece on this bitch. Very feminine, correct wedge shaped head with ear and eye placement producing a wonderful expression. Her stop and head planes coupled with a nice underjaw all came together to produce a lovely picture from all angles. Good length of neck and balanced angulation finished of a lovely example of a bitch fitting the breed standard beautifully. I understand she has had puppies recently and her coat and movement reflected this.

Class 10 Veteran Bitch 2(0) 1 st Collino’s Imaginist Willow Wren – attractive 9 year old Tri girl with a lovely sweet expression. Good headpiece with good eye and ear placement and a nice smooth wedge shape. Would prefer a little more underjaw. Demonstrating good construction and moving very well around the ring for her age. BVB 2 nd Skinner’s Samhaven Time is Money With Nikal – 11 and a half year old tri lady who still seems to enjoy her time in the ring. Pretty headpiece with a good wedge shape and correct head planes, correctly set ears and sweet expression. Moving a little stiifly now but still game!

Class 11 Minor Puppy Bitch 1(0) 1 st Collino’s Imaginist Frozen In Time – 9 month old Striking blue merle. Very pretty young lady with excellent colour. Striking headpiece with correct wedge and good planes with correctly placed stop. Lovely eye and ear placement and good underjaw. Good length of neck in to well angulated shoulders balanced with rear angulation. Would like a little more length in the back but still very young. Tail set correctly but needs a little more length. Moved well around the ring for her age. BPB, BPIB

Class 12 Puppy Bitch 4(2) 1 st Moore’s Ormordha Sweert Tooth – 11 month old with a lovely expression. Nice headpiece with a good underjaw. Good eye placement and correctly set ears. A nicely contstructed youngster who moved well around the ring but still very loose on the move and needs to tighten up. 2 nd Gatt’s Wicani Belladonna – A tricolour of 11 months old with heavier build than 1st. Good headpiece with nice expression although ears a little soft and would like a little more underjaw. Moved well around the ring.

Class 13 Junior Bitch 5(1) 1 st Blakes’ Corydon Christiana – Lovely sable girl of 15mths. Very feminine bitch demonstrating a lovely outline in the stack with correct fitted coat. Lovely expression from correct wedge head with good planes and correct eye and ear placement although I would prefer a more defined stop. Good length of neck into well angled shoulder balanced with rear angulation, and nice length of back flowing into correctly set tail. RBB 2 nd Wray-Ramsden’s Takhisis Xtraordinary Lady – 15mth old tri. A pretty bitch with good front and rear angulation and length of back who moved well around the ring. Her head is a little strong for me with a rounder eye, deeper stop and lower set ears than 1st .

Class 14 Post Graduate Bitch 5(2) 1 st Wray-Ramsden’s Takhisi Xtraordinary Lady 2 nd Quince’s Oakley Ice Queen for Karafaye – A very striking blue merle bitch of 2 and a half years. Lovely colour on this bitch and a very striking headpiece. Correct wedge shape with nicely set ears and correct eye shape and placement. Good head planes with correct stop and good underjaw. Good length of neck. Would like a little more front angulation. Rear movement a little erratic which cost her the class.

Class 15 Limit Bitch 3(2) 1 st Harvey’s Afterhero Cheeky Angel at Wicani – Lovely blue merle bitch of 2 years. Although this young lady stood alone she drew the eye as soon as she entered the ring demanding your attention. Very nice blue colouring with ample but well-fitting coat of correct texture. Very attractive headpiece with lovely wedge shape and in profile with correct planes, perceptible stop and good underjaw. Lovely eye shape correctly set with corresponding ears to complete the picture. Good strong neck of sufficient length in to well angulated shoulders and good depth of chest. Balanced rear angulation with nice bend to stifle but would like a little more length in the back. Nicely set tail of good length carried correctly. Moved well around the ring but lost out to the dog in the challenge as could not match his free-flowing movement on the day. BB, RBOB

Class 16 Open Bitch 3(2) 1 st Wray-Ramsden’s Bel Ch Takhisis Lady Of Mystery BW24 – Sable bitch of 4 yrs. Another sable bitch with a lovely expression. Nice wedge head with well set eyes and ears, good head planes and well defined stop. Would like a little more underjaw. Demonstrated nice free movement around the ring from well angulated shoulders and balanced rear. Tail correctly set but a little short.
