Rough Collies

I would like to say thank you to the committee for inviting me and putting on such a great show.  A big thank you to all exhibitors that entered under me.  I was looking for breed type and soundness on the day in which I found in most of my winners.  I did find a few exhibits with poor rear movement and I had some really nice dogs that went cardless. 

SBD. (1) 1 Boyle - Barrenclough Heart Of Gold JW ShCEx OSW, Masculine 8 year old dog that looked good for his age with good head qualities. Well balanced head, flat skull with the correct stop, super eye shape and placement, correct ear set, muscular neck of fair length well arched, leading into well angulated shoulders, well balanced throughout which showed in his good movement, covered the ground well. BV

 VD. (3) 1 Boyle -  Barrenclough Heart Of Gold JW ShCEx OSW 2 Williams - CH Mejola Fate and Fortune ShCEx Another nice 8 year old B/M.  he had all the qualities of 1 and it was a close decision as 2 very nice veterans, Moved extremely well. 3 Watt - Culbrae Red Again 

PD (4,1) 1 Lockyer - Gataj Time Will Tell.  11 month old S/W puppy of very nice breed type.  He had good head qualities, super eye shape and placement and stop in the correct place giving him a lovely expression, correct ear set  Good length of neck well boned.  Just need to balance in body, Moved OK. 2 Scott -  Chantique The Witcher, Another lovely puppy Flat skull, correct eye shape and placement giving him that lovely expression asked for in the breed, I Just preferred the balance of head on 1 and although he was nice to go over he didn’t move in unison with his handler but still only a baby. 3 Falletto – Signor Gianpaolo Verysuper Black Di Cambiano 

JD. (3) 1 Randall – Ladnar Call My Name 11 months old super coloured B/M.  He had beautiful well balanced head in proportion to his size, smooth well blunt clean wedge.  Correct almond eye shape obliquely set with the correct ear set giving the impression of the sweetness of expression, super well arched neck leading into good angulation and was not disappointed on going over him.  Height to length ratio was correct with a slight rise over the loins, good spring of rib and strong loin with good rear angulation and tail reaching to hocks. Just needed a bit more coat to finish off the picture on the day.  He moved extremely well, smooth, light and effortless and I was pleased to award him the RCC. 2 Blake – Corydon the Baronet, quality tri dog of good breed type, head qualities were very good.  His head was well balanced with a super eye shape placement with a good ear set. Height to length ratio was correct with a slight rise over the loins, good spring of rib and strong loin with good rear angulation and tail reaching to hocks and covered the ground well with plenty of drive. 3 Lockyer -  Gataj Strike It Lucky 

ND (1) 1 Blake – Corydon the Baronet  

GD. (2) 1 Brooker, Starlenga All About Magic for Corisian. 2 year old S/W dog. Well balanced well moulded head, correct stop, flat skull, super almond eye shape and placement obliquely set with the correct ear set giving the impression of the sweetness of expression, muscular well arched neck of fair length, leading into well angulated shoulders, well balanced throughout and covered the ground well with his smooth movement with plenty of drive. Strong contender in the challenge. 2 Foster – Didek Eclipse Of The Moon, 2 year old B/M with well balanced head of good quality. Flat skull on 2 parallel planes, correct eye shape and placement, correct ear set, fair length of neck, well arched  good spring of rib, well boned, he looked a lovely shape in profile but I would have liked a more positive rear movement. 

PGD. (5) 1 Ross – Siluto Blue Wizzard At Amberwish, lovely B/M, I really liked his head qualities and expression, flat skull, head on 2 parallel planes good underjaw, correct eye shape and placement set somewhat oblique, correct ear set,  good reach of neck, looked very nice in profile, Angulation was good and he moved well. 2 Mason – Tiganlea So True At Glenspey, S/W with good head qualities and expression, flat skull, head on 2 parallel planes good underjaw, correct eye shape and placement set somewhat oblique, correct ear set, he just tended to carry his tail a bit high when on the move. 3 Farthing  - Didek Once In a Blue Moon  

LD. (5) 1 Williams – Mejola Top Gun JW, S/W of lovely breed type.  Good head qualities well balanced, super eye shape and placement with a correct ear set, well arched neck of good length leading into well angulated shoulders, good depth of chest and spring of ribs with good bone, rear angulation was good with a strong loin and well let down hocks.  He was well balanced throughout and gained his place for his soundness. Covered the ground well. Another strong contender in the challenge.   2 Wray-Ramsden – Takhisis Daggers At Dawn JW.  Good head qualities and expression, flat skull with a slight but perceptive stop, correct eye shape and placement set somewhat oblique, correct ear set, head on 2 parallel planes good underjaw, good reach of neck and depth of chest, well boned and well balanced throughout.  Just lacked the finishings of 1 on the day.  Moved well.  3 Hassock – Camanna Cell Mate  

OD. (10,2)  1 Foy & Hawkins – CH Beldones Ivory Star, He certainly was the Star.  A very handsome masculine dog all in proportion with a well balanced head, well blunted clean wedge with skull and muzzle on 2 parallel planes with the slight but perceptible stop in the correct place.  He had a super eye shape and placement giving him the correct sweet expression I was looking for and he had the correct ear set which he used.  Neck of fair length well arched leading into well angulated shoulders, Good depth of chest broad behind shoulders, good bone, ribs well sprung with a slight rise over the loins, muscular thighs with well let down hocks, tail reaching to hock.  Looked lovely in profile and covered the ground effortless with plenty of drive.  Pleased to award him the CC. 2 Francis – Monsolana Franz Von Assisi Mit Pebluy (Imp Rus) I really liked this S/W dog.  A bit smaller than 1 but he had all the qualities I was looking for, good breed type lovely head and expression, Neck of fair length well arched leading into well angulated shoulders, Good depth of chest broad behind shoulders, good bone, ribs well sprung with a slight rise over the loins, well let down hocks and balanced throughout and he moved really well.  3 Cronk – Chelborn’s Gambling List  

SBB (5,1) 1 Boyle – Timeless Destiny Star Over Barrenclough JW.  Most appealing girl who scored on her head qualities and expression.  She had a lovely well balanced head, super eye shape and placement, correct stop giving her a sweet expression. fair length of neck well arched leading into good angulation, good depth of chest and good bone, slight rise over the loins and tail reaching to hocks.  She was very sound and looked good on the move and was in unison with her owner. BSB 2 Dix – Gataj First Crush At Treweek, lovely S/W 6 months old puppy, She had good head qualities, a super eye shape and placement and a good ear set overall giving her a sweet expression, fair length of neck and in profile a lovely shape, She was very good on the day and Just needs to mature and finish and I’m sure her owner will have some fun with her. Moved well. 3 Rose – Uffspring Ultravox For Coloatura  

VB (2) 1 Brooker – Telforth Sweet Dreams To Corisian JW, 12 years old S/W in full coat.  She looked really good for her age.  Very nice well balanced and moulded head, correct eye shape and placement, correct ear set, good reach of neck slightly arched leading into good angulation, looked great in profile well balanced throughout and moved well. BVB 2 Hollinshead – Starlyn Amazing Grace, another lovely exhibit.  7 year old S/W.  She had all the qualities of 1. Well balanced head correct eye shape and placement giving her that lovely expression correct length of neck leading into very good angulation with strong bone and looked lovely in profile.  She was just a bit unsettled on the day but a lovely girl. Moved OK 

MPB (2) 1 Spendelow – Uffspring Unique Espoir, 7 months old tri, very nice head qualities correct stop, lovely eye shape and placement with the correct ear set, good length of neck and depth of chest with good bone, her angulation was very good and she looked good in profile, moved very well. 2 Dix – Gataj First Crush At Treweek 

PB (3,1) 1 Lockyer - Gataj Struck by Love, S/W of lovely breed type, head qualities were good for her age and she had a super eye, correct stop and a  good ear set giving her a lovely sweet expression. Fair length of neck, well angulated with good bone, level topline with a slight rise over the loins, Moved OK.  I hope she has a bright future. Please to award her BPIB 2 Davis & Walsh – Wincani Bellissima Rosschell, 10 months old super colour B/M, correct eye shape and placement giving her that lovely expression, good ear carriage super length of neck slightly arched, good bone, she looked stunning in profile with her lovely shape but I just preferred the balance and movement of 1 on the day. 

JB (3,1) 1 Wray-Ramsden Takhisis Xtraordinary Lady Bw24 Bel Jnr CH, Tri of good breed type, correct head qualities, eye shape, placement and ear set were good, well angulated throughout with good depth of chest and good bone with well let down pasterns, she looked very nice in profile and I liked her soundness and she covered the ground well. 2 Francis – Roughrigg Rene russo At Peblu, Another very nice girl of lovely breed type, correct head qualities, super eye shape and placement, correct stop giving her that lovely expression, well angulated a good depth of chest,  She wasn’t in unison with her handler so although she was well balanced it just spoilt her movement on the day. YB (1) 1 Wray-Ramsden - Takhisis Xtraordinary Bw24 Bel Jnr CH 

NB (4,1) 1 Spendelow – Uffspring Unique Espoir 2 Watt – Culbrae Charmed Again – 18 months old girl with very nice head qualities correct stop, lovely almond eye shape set obliquely and well placed with a correct slight but perceptible stop with the correct ear set giving a sweet expression, fair length of neck and depth of chest slightly arched with good bone. Level topline with a slight rise over the loins. Would have just preferred a more positive movement on the day. 3 Rodwell – Ladnar Yours Truly At Pomnenka 

GB (4) 1 Quince – Oakley Ice queen for Karafaye (Imp) Very feminine B/M bitch with very good head qualities, well balanced with a super eye shape and placement giving her a lovely expression. Fair length of neck slightly arched, angulation was very good and she looked lovely in profile and she moved Ok.  2 Dodsworth – Libanel Everlasting Desire 3 Wray-Ramsden Takhisis Xtraordinary Lady Bw24 Bel Jnr CH PGB (4) 1 Walder – Hanvale Patsy Stone, Very nice S/W with lovely well balanced head qualities and a sweet expression, correct eye shape and placement and correct ear set.  Good length of neck slightly arched with good depth of chest and well angulated shoulders, level topline with a slight rise over the loins, nicely balanced and covered the ground well. 2 Boyle – Timeless Destiny Star Over Barrenclough JW 3 Rose – Uffspring Ultravox For Coloratura 

LB (8,1) 1 Newman – Phreelancer Pheel It Still, bitch of super breed type with a very sweet expression with a super eye shape and placement, correct stop and a well blunted clean wedge head of good balance, fair length of neck leading into well angulated shoulders with good bone. Good spring of rib level topline on the move and a slight rise over the loins correct rear angulation with tail reaching to hocks.  I really liked her and she was a strong contender in the challenge. Looked lovely in profile but she just moved a little close behind on my final decision but I’m sure on another day she will have her big win. 2 Welsh – Thistlewing Spell On You.  Another very nice exhibit with all the qualities of 1. Well balanced head, correct stop, almond shaped eye correctly placed good length of neck leading into well angulated shoulders. Good spring of rib level topline on the move and a slight rise over the loins with tail reaching to hocks. Lovely shape in profile and Moved well. 3 Lockyer – Gataj All That Sparkles 

OB (11,1) A lovely class with some really nice quality exhibits. 1 Foy & Hawkins – Beldones Just for Fun At Starlenga, Loved this girl, In my opinion She oozed quality and took my eye on entering the ring.  Very nice head qualities, well balanced, super eye shape and placement set somewhat oblique, correct stop giving her that lovely expression asked for in the breed standard, good ear set.  Good length of neck leading into well angulated shoulders with good bone with well let down pasterns, deep chest with a good spring of rib, slight rise over the loins and a low set tail, good bend of stifle with strong loins and well let down hocks. She was very well balanced throughout and looked lovely in profile of a dog of great beauty and covered the ground with ease with her smooth movement with plenty of drive.  CC and BOB I was told it was her 3rd.  2 Blackburn & Jones – Erjon Evolving Beauty – Very nice girl with all the qualities of 1.  Lovely breed type, correct head qualities, well balanced throughout although not the finishing of 1 but she was really well angulated and I liked her soundness and movement on the day. Please to award her the RCC. 3 Hollinshead - Millubie Enchantress (Imp Srb)
