I’d like to thank the committee of the C A for inviting me to judge at their Open Show.
A very friendly welcome was extended to me upon arrival and continued throughout the day.
Shame the weather decided to change and it rained fairly steadily along with thunder and heavier outbursts. It tended to make things a bit soggy, but everyone seemed happy and enjoyed the day despite this!
Special thanks to my two very efficient stewards working hard in very difficult conditions.
A nice entry of quality dogs awaited me, so thank you to all exhibitors for your entry. I thoroughly enjoyed my day.

Puppy Dog; 2 (1 absent)
1st - Scott’s ‘Chantique The Witcher’
Top quality pup , at his first show I understand. Gorgeous balanced head of good length, refined and with good chin, excellent reach of neck and the sweetest eye providing soft sweet expression. Used his ears well and moved fairly well carrying his tail low, one with the correct bend of stifle which seems to be lacking in collies today. He was full of puppy exuberance on his well boned legs and very neat feet. Lovely shapely body covered with a bright golden sable coat
expertly groomed and harsh to touch. Loved him, a star in the making.
RBD/BPD/RBOB/BPIB/BPIS well done.

Graduate dog; 1
1st -Dodsworth’ - ‘Libanel Everlasting Charm with Sommerfugl’
A heavily coated tri dog of the deepest black along with sparkling whites and with a nice rich tan. His head is balanced with a decent muzzle and chin, his eye is on the full side for me with his skull being a little broad affecting his ear placement and carriage which is rather wide set, he has a decent length of neck and back and a long tail. Sadly overweight which did reflect in his movement making his movement rather wide in front.

1st - Ross’ Siluto Blue Wizzard at Amberwish
A precocious blue dog of 2.5 yrs Attractive expression with his dark eyes and nicely marked face. His head and back skull is flat and well filled. Shapely body of correct proportions covered with a profuse fitted coat which is well marked . With correct conformation he moved out well on well boned legs and neat short hocks carrying his tail low.
2nd - Dix ‘Barrenclough Diamond Skies’
Mature sable dog well groomed, his head is balanced with a nice expression and decent eye, His neck lacks arch, fair length of back and long tail. Moved a little reluctantly today.

Limit Dog ‘3’
1st - Wray-Ramsden ‘Takhisis Daggers At Dawn’
Shaded sable standing and showing really well, he is a nice type with a correct head and sweet expression, his has a decent length of neck leading into correct shoulder and front assembly, standing four square on well boned legs and neat feet. He moved out really well carrying his tail low. For me he needs more coat and his ears are a little heavy.
2nd - Skinner’s ‘Ladnar Makeithappen for Nikal’
Blue merle carrying a good coat of correct texture and decent colour.
Nice body shape with a good neck and length of back . He was not responding to his handler today reluctantly using his ears. For me he is a bit full in eye.

Open dog ‘3’ (1 absent)
1st Hawkins and Foy ‘ Beldones Ivory Star’
My absolute Star of the day, a stunning top quality young sable male of 16 months, certainly no denying his gender !
His head is perfection balanced with the correct stop, moulded muzzle, well filled flat back skull and adequate underjaw. His eye is exquisite dark, almond, and obliquely set in his head creating a gorgeous expression, all set off with ears right on top.
He carries his head proudly on an arched neck of good length leading into a good shoulder placement. Decent depth of rib for a young dog, covered with a profuse harsh well groomed coat.
Another with the correct bend of stifle, good bone and neat short hock enabling him to move with power from the rear and correct reach in front.
Perfect tail carriage completed the picture for me.
I understand that he is a champion already, congratulations he made my day .

2nd - Milligan and Marley ‘Alfsden Endless Night’
Beautifully presented jet black tri dog with gleaming whites and nicely trimmed neat feet. Moved out reasonably well with a good tail carriage. His head is well filled and smooth., I prefer a better eye being a little full. He is slightly broad in skull hence his ears are a tad wide.

Veteran Bitch ‘2’
1st Benton - Ch Brooklynson Jane Russell of Oakestelle VW ShCEx
Well known veteran bitch, she stands rock steady four square showing her socks off, devoted to her mum. Her head lacks stop, and her eyes are rather round affecting any sweetness. She is in good body condition for her age, with perfectly clean teeths. I was disappointed in her movement. She was throwing her right leg out, perhaps moving her a bit slower might help.
2nd Milligan and Marley - ‘Ladnar Trust In Me’
Blue merle 8 year old bitch in lovely clean coat and sparkling whites,
She had a nice balanced head smooth and moulded with the correct stop, lovely clean teeth and a good chin. She moved out reasonably well if she had moved with a bit more animation places would have been reversed.

Minor Puppy Bitch ‘3’
1st - Margett’s -’ Lynmead Designer Tipple for Collingvale’
Pale sable showing really well, her head was balanced, albeit a bit short for me, nice ear placement right on top, decent length of neck, good shoulder and depth of rib, I felt she was a little square in outline at present.. Moved out well on well boned legs and neat feet.
2nd Perrott’s - Lynmead Star Struck’
Rich golden sable baby with a nicely groomed coat, nice length of refined head with a nice eye and expression. Ample neck and decent length of body . Moved well although a little bit babyish which is only to be expected.
3rd - Hawkins and Foy - Beldones Caribbean Girl

Puppy Bitch ‘7’ (2 absent)
1st Congdon’s -’ Aaronwell Another Love’
Ultra feminine blue merle of beautiful colour and markings. Expertly presented, she has a profuse coat of a stunning blue colour which is correct for texture.
Her dainty head was balanced with ears on top, along with a correct stop. Her nicely marked face and an exquisite eye set obliquely, gave her a sweet smiley expression.
She had a good length of neck and nicely proportioned body which was shapely with the correct rise over the loin, and a long tail.
She moved out well on her short hocks, albeit a little narrow in front as yet.
She presented such a pretty picture . BPB. Well done.
2nd - Scott’ ‘Chantique Away Wi The Fairies’
Splitting hairs in this class. Another feminine puppy of a bright golden sable presented immaculately, lovely clean coat and brilliant whites.
Pretty head, lean and free of coarseness with the correct stop, lovely eye shape dark and set perfectly. Lovely ear placement enhanced her pretty expression.
Ideal body proportions and well boned legs and very neat feet. She moved confidently. Another top quality pup.

Junior Bitch ‘3’
1st - Hawkins and Foy - ‘Beldones Shanghai Surprise’
Attractive tri bitch really enjoying her day and giving her handler a hard time. Lovely cheeky expression coming from her nice dark almond eye set correctly. Showed fairly well with her ears on top.
Good conformation allowing her to move out well although a bit erratic at times. Nicely presented coat and in good condition. She presented a lovely type with her shapely body and good legs and feet.
2nd Wray-Ramsdens - ‘Takhisis Xtraordinary Lady BWJ24 Bel ch.
Jet black tri with a shiny fresh nice clean coat and bright whites. Her coat fits her outline and she stands and shows her lovely ear carriage very well.
She moved out well but can stand awkwardly at times.

Novice Bitch ‘5’
1st - Hawkins Brilyn’s Breckamore Crimson Embers
Petite sable pup of 9 months beautifully presented.
Head is lean free of any flaring, well balanced with correct stop, very sweet eye and perfect natural ears right on top. Showing really well for one so young.
Decent neck and length of body, lovely long tail carried correctly on the move. Movement was ok as one would expect from a youngster.
2nd - Repeat of Junior Bitch.

Graduate Bitch ‘2’ (1 absent)
1st - Dodsworth and Carr ‘ Libanel Everlasting Dezire’
A blue merle of a nice colour, I felt her coat was past its best, she needed a really good brush out to remove clumpy hair, even though she has a shapely body and lovely bright whites. She has a nice expression created by her decent eye. Good ears in correct position,. Overweight making her wide in front.

Post Graduate Bitch. ‘2’ (1absent)
1st - Tame’s ‘Gataj Time After Time at Rahlissa’
Lovely mature sable using her ears well. Nice moulded head well filled and smooth. Soft sweet expression emanating from her dark eye, which for me could have been slightly more obliquely set. Correct body proportions and good conformation, she moved out soundly on good legs and feet. In good coat and condition.

Limit Bitch ‘5’ (1 absent)
1st - Larkin ‘Rahlissa Toffee Cake for Denora’
Very pretty pale sable just coming back into coat which was immaculately presented. She has a balanced head with a soft feminine expression. Decent neck and length of body, lovely long tail. She shows well and stands foursquare on well boned legs and neat well trimmed feet.I would just like a tighter ear carriage to complete the picture..
2nd - Margaret’s ‘Collingvale Campari’
A mature tri bitch in good coat. She has pretty eye and her body proportions are correct. She moved out reasonably well. Not using her ears today, understandably as it was now Thundering ! For me she has too much stop and flares in back skull.

Open Bitch ‘3’
1st - Hawkins and Foy ‘Beldones Velvet Eyes.
Serene sable bitch just coating up after a litter. She stood foursquare quietly using her ears to advantage. Her soft dreamy expressive eyes set correctly in her well balanced head which is smooth with a well filled muzzle, good underjaw and chin. She has ample neck leading onto a good shoulder and decent length of body . She moved out better when moved a bit more slowly showing correct side gait, and true fore and aft. She is quite lovely and pleased to award her BB.
2nd - Wray-Ramsden ‘Takhisis Lady Of Mystery’ BW24
Another lovely bitch, a shaded sable of a completely different type to the winner. Showing her socks off and standing foursquare. She too has a lovely moulding of head and a nice almond eye, which is dark and correctly placed. She moved out extremely as her conformation would suggest. Groomed to perfection, for me, she just need a little more coat to complete the picture.
Pleased to award her RBB.
