Chesterfield Canine Society 3rd May 2025

I would like to thank the committee of the Chesterfield Canine Society for giving me the opportunity to judge the rough collie classes at their Premiere Open show. I would also like to thank the exhibitors for their entries and the stewards for their hard work. The only issue of the day was the strong winds, which upset a few of the dogs.

Rough Collie Puppy 3 (1) 1st Allsopp’s Aqualita Majestic 10 months old s/w dog. Well blunted, clean wedged head, with dark almond shaped eyes. Well placed ears that were used in response to handler. Good depth of chest with nice top-line, which was held on the move. Moved well with drive. In good coat, well presented. BP. 2nd Bartram’s Ambartr’s Dignity And Pride 11 months old s/w bitch. Attractive bitch, good confirmation, good wedged shaped head, slightly longer in muzzle, dark almond eye, ears well placed. Unsettled on the move.

Rough Collie Junior 1 (0) 1st Bartram’s Ambartr’s Dignity And Pride (as above puppy class).

Rough Collie Post Graduate 7 (3) 1st Rose’s Beldones Clementine Avec Coloratura 3 year old s/w bitch. This young bitch really stood out for me in this class. Good clean wedged shaped head who has an obliquely set dark almond eye which gives a sweet expression, nicely placed ears which were used well throughout. She has a good reach of neck and well angulated shoulders into good rib. She carries a good top-line which was held on the move, good bend of stifle into well let down hocks. Moved well around the ring, beautifully presented, attentive to handler at all times. Happy to award her BOB. 2nd Farthing’s Didek Once In A Blue Moon 2 year old b/m dog. Well balanced head with dark eye, ears well placed, which he didn’t want to use today. Well constructed, good spring of rib, nice bone. Level top-line moved well, carried tail gaily. In lovely clear blue merle coat which was in very good condition, beautifully presented. 3rd Rodwell’s Ladnar Yourstruly At Pomnenka

Rough Collie Open 6 (1) 1st Mejola Top Gun (JW) Almost 2years old s/w dog. well turned out in lovely coat. Lovely wedge shaped head, clean lines, lovely dark almond eye, ears well placed giving that overall pleasing expression. Nice shape and bone construction, good shoulder and rear angulation, top-line held on the move. Neat feet and tail of correct length. Well presented as always from this kennel. Res BOB 2nd Farthing’s Aldreen Illusion In Blue For Didek, 6 years old b/m bitch, well presented, feminine with a sweet expression, obliquely placed dark eye, Head balanced, ears used and placed well. Moved ok, keeping a good top- line. 3rd Offspring Ultravox For Colorature.
