British Collie Club open show – December 2025
Smooth Collies
Many thanks to the committee for inviting me, and especially to the exhibitors for bringing such lovely dogs for me to go over – I very much enjoyed my day.
VETERAN D/B (4,0): 1. Ch. Blamorder Ice Cream Dream BOB/RBIS/BVIS – just loved this bitch, a picture of moderation, feminine with enough substance, balanced and sound as a bell, in hard condition. Love her quality of head, with parallel planes and no coarseness at all and her body shape is ideal for me for length/height proportions with super reach of neck. Showed and moved well, and stole my heart; 2. Ch. Oakestelle Artemis – Quality blue merle bitch who wasn’t quite putting her all in here today. Feminine head that handles well, although I would prefer a little more in the foreface. A touch shorter in back and lighter in build than the winner, but she is well angulated and balanced fore and aft, with a lovely neck which gives her a nice outline. Excellent body condition and moved out well.; 3. Ch. Winter Is Coming to Tentola
PUPPY DOG, JUNIOR DOG, POST GRADUATE DOG – no entries
OPEN DOG (3,0): 1. Ch. Constella Hazy Cosmic Jive BD/RBOB – tricolour male in his prime with a lovely outline from his length to height proportions, good angulation front and back and lovely reach of neck. Good size without coarseness. Have judged him before, and I found again today that he can be a bit lazy when he is standing, but he is in good muscular condition and moves out strongly, with good forward reach and rear drive. Head of good length and balance, to be picky would perhaps prefer a little more fill in muzzle and underjaw, but a lovely quality dog. 2. Shulune Imperial Inkheart with Casatentola – blue merle male with much to commend him in his size and substance, nice base colour blue and rich tan. Head is of good proportions in profile, but I found him a little broad head on. Nice outline, good bone without being too hefty, moved out well but not matching the winner in forward reach; 3. Blamorder Magic Maker with Freejack
PUPPY BITCH (3,0): 1. Coldelee Busy Bein Fabulous BPIB – smart and refined sable bitch, perhaps a little finer in head at this stage than I would prefer but everything is well balanced and of good length and she has time. Eye of good shape and set, ears well used, although perhaps a tad wide set. Liked her proportions and decent neck, and her good angulation showed on the move; 2. Blamorder Starstruck with Versatilis – strong bitch who makes her handler work hard! Good front angulation, needs to drop a tad at the rear at the moment. Head of good length, ears very well set and used, but would like a little more fill to her foreface and was lacking some pigment here today which detracted from her expression. Strong condition, and demonstrated good movement between the bouncing and dancing.; 3. Koczkodan In My Heart
JUNIOR BITCH, POST GRADUATE BITCH – no entries
OPEN BITCH (4,0): 1. Blamorder Double Or Quits of Oakestelle JW – this young bitch presents a lovely picture and is handled to advantage. Lovely head with parallel planes, would prefer a little more underjaw. Her outline is of good proportions, she has enough size and substance, but no mistaking her sex. She is in hard condition with good angulation and this showed on the move. RBB, giving way to the maturity of the veteran bitch. 2. Coldelee Eternal Sunshine JW - lovely sable bitch, a package of moderation and elegance, nice for size and substance with elegance, head of good balance with appealing expression and lovely eye, just not quite putting it all in today on the move despite her good body condition. 3. Blamorder The Hustler
