Rough Collies
My thanks to Border Union committee for the invite to judge RCs here today. All exhibits had scissor bites and dogs were entire. Some promising youngsters with loads of potential and as often happens the oldies were often showing the youngsters how it should be done. I did have a couple of grumbling exhibits which I find disturbing in a breed like RCs. My sincere thanks to my Stewards Val and Fiona who kept the ring running smoothly and not forgetting our trainee steward Leo, you were all so helpful.

1 Beldones Ivory Star (Hawkins & Foy) - S/W well chiselled head, medium ears well set, scissor bite, dark almond eye giving kind expression, good reach of neck flowing into well angulated front, enough depth and width of chest, good bone well balanced and bodied, in good coat and condition, once settled moved well, good breed type, promising youngster.
2 Shanaburn Dark Night (Brodie) BT scissor bite, good head eye and expression, well bodied for age good bone, well angulated front and rear, once settled moved well, another youngster with potential 3 Gemheid Mayd of Amber for Detillio (Tilley)

1 Roughrigg Rags'n'riches (McCarte) S/W 14 month, S/W raw youngster. Scissor bite, good eye, medium ears, enough bone and body for age, very heavily coated, initially movement rather erratic but once settled moved OK, plenty of time on his side.

2 Takhisis Daggers at Dawn JW (Wray-Ramsden) 2yrs, another balanced head with good eye, ears used well, good reach of neck, well constructed front assembly, well bodied and angulated rear, moved soundly good coat. Tight feet. In good coat.

1 Wicani Bellissima Rosschell (Davis & Walsh) 8mths BM balanced well chiselled head with kind feminine, expression, medium ears used well, good reach of neck, correct front assembly with depth and width of chest, nicely bodied, good rear construction, good feet, tail of good length and correctly carried, , good feet, flowed confidently round the ring with ease. Shown in lovely coat and condition, good breed type bright future prospect.
