Smooth Collies

Vet  (1) 1 Cowling’s Koczkodan Serenity. Pleasing 8 year old tri colour bitch. First impression, considering we were in the pouring rain, this was a dog completely fit for function. Her head held lovely level planes, well placed stop, correct wedge shape and well set ears. I would prefer a slightly darker eye and a little more underjaw, however overall very pleasing. Her well arched neck led to excellent front angulation, deep brisket and well sprung ribs. Well muscled loin and well turned stifles and muscled thigh, and lovely long tail for her age. Correct coat which was holding up superbly in the rain. On the move she simply floated around the ring, with great drive on the rear. A little loose on the front, but good for her age. Otherwise an excellent example of the breed and very close match to the BOB. RBOB/BVIB

PG  (2.1) 1 Howe’s  Lizoni the Drifter. Promising 20 month old tri colour dog. Very pleasing masculine head, with flat back skull, level planes, well wedged, correctly placed stop, great underjaw, correct bite and well set ears. While his eyes were of correct proportions and placement, I would prefer them darker. When it comes to his construction, I see a good future for him, however he is currently settling into himself. Correct front angulation, however his brisket still needs to deepen and gain some spring of rib. Good loin with a good bend of stifle and muscled thigh. He is currently a little long in the hock and in the leg overall, which led to some slightly untidy movement around the ring. I would like to see this dog again once fully matured.

L  (1) 1 Russell’s Breckamore Bittersweet for Koczkodan. 8 and a half year old tri colour bitch. First impressions, there’s a lot of quality to this bitch, she just lacks some natural showmanship. I love this bitches head, with good level planes, well placed stop, flat back skull, correct bite, and well set ears. I would however, like to see a darker eye. Construction wise, she held correct front angulation, a lovely deep brisket and well sprung rib, good loin and well turned stifles and very well muscled rear. A little hesitant on the move, however when she did stride out on the move, she had good reach and drive, if slightly dipping in her topline.

OD (1) 1 Wensley’s Ch Constella Hazy Cosmic Jive. 3 year old tri male. This dog immediately struck me as a male at his peak and completely fit for function. His head held a beautifully rounded muzzle, flat back skull, well wedged and level planes, correctly placed stop, correct bite and reasonable underjaw. All rounded off with a lovely ear set. His eyes, while correctly placed and sized, could be a little darker, however this didn’t distract from his otherwise sweet expression. Construction wise, his beautifully arched neck led to a well angulated front, deep brisket and well sprung ribs. Great and very well muscled loin, lovely rise over the rear and well bent stifles and excellently muscled thighs, ending in a lovely long tail and covered by a beautifully dark correct jacket. On the move, he put those muscles to good work and exhibited great reach and drive, covering the large ring with ease. BOB
