Rough Collie Grad 3 (1)
1st Shorten’s  Thistlewings Andromeda At Bracoisla. Upstanding two year old sable and white showy male of correct size and type. Good length of head. Strong bone.  Good hard feet. Shown in good body and excellent coat. Moved soundly and showed his ears to advantage when standing in show pose. 2nd Milne’s Stregato My Highland Dancer. Year old tricolour male - again of correct classic type. Good intense black with attractive tan and white markings. Soundly put together with good bone and substance. Living up to his name he was a bit unsettled on the day which was just due to youthful exuberance.

Rough Collie Post Grad 5(1) 1st Thistlewings Andromeda At Bracoisla. 2nd Crawford’s sable and white Stregato Foolish Guy. Yet another upstanding classic type male Collie.  Well up to size with correct length of body Good dentition and long balanced head with nice dark eye. Excellent length of tail reaching past his hock joint. Moved soundly but just a little unsettled both on the move and when standing.  3rd Haslam-Craib‘s sable & white B Roughrigg Ragga.

1st BOB and Working Group 1. Swinton Raven’s  four year old Blue Merle D Corydon Ice Imperial. A handsome male again of correct classic collie type with excellent head which had a well filled muzzle correct set, size and shape of eye and the slight but perceptible stop the standard asks for at the centre point of balance of length of head. Good reach of neck, correct length of body to height and in great coat and condition. Nicely broken blue coat of correct blue colour - so important in a merle. Moved soundly and stood and showed perfectly non stop. This was certainly his day. 2nd Brodie’s sable and white Shannaburn Country Road. At almost three years old he is a mature male shown in excellent coat and condition. A different type of collie from the winner as he is somewhat shorter in both head and body with a deeper stop but still quite striking and not to be ignored. Well presented and handled by his two handlers he moved very soundly and showed well on the day. But today he was eclipsed by a dog who stood above him and went on to win the group. So there should be no disgrace in standing second to the class winner.  3rd Stregato Foolish Guy

1st Shorten’s Smooth Collie Glencorrie Stella Bark at Bracoisla. Exquisite feminine sable & white puppy bitch who must surely have a promising future. Good mouth with correct scissor bite. Well filled muzzle with slight but perceptible stop and flat back skull. Good reach of neck and strong level back with correct tail carriage. Excellent front and rear angulation with good hard feet. Still very much a baby with a bit of maturing to do just as one should expect in this breed at that age. Sound and confident movement. Stood and showed well.
AV Past NSC Open 1(0) 1st Best Past AVNSC and Past Group 3. Rennie’s Smooth Collie Diamondfox Sir Galahad (Imp Fin). Mature handsome two year old male in hard muscular condition. It  is rare to see this ‘numerically at risk’ breed exhibited in Scotland, and it also seems to me that most UK smooth exhibits - unlike their rough coated counterparts - are not sables, so all the more surprising to find two such high quality specimens here today. He has all the right points. Good head and eye. Good depth of chest. Correct reach of neck. Good length of tail. Nice bend of stifle and shown in good hard condition. Moved with drive as expected from his construction and stood and showed well.
