Collies (Rough). 

I would like to thank the Committee for inviting me to judge at this show and allowing me to give CC’s in the breed for the first time and to the exhibitors for the lovely entry.   I grew up with the Roughs and was involved in showing them for my late grandmother Mary Tweddle some 40 years ago which many exhibitors of today will not remember.  Overall I found presentation to be good apart from the odd few.  I was pleased with the quality of my main winners and my BOB Ch Chelborn Wishlist was exactly what I was looking for and to me fits the breed standard and was delighted to see her shortlisted in the group.

  1. Boyle Barrenclough Diamond Days (JW)

 

SW dog 8½ years old.  Nice for type, good head qualities, correct stop, lovely eye and expression, neat ears which he used well,  sufficient reach of neck  Good bone.  In good condition.  Moved well.

MPD (3)

  1. Telford Beldones Diamond Touch For Glenbowdene

 

Lovely SW with the most classic blunt wedged head qualities, correct stop, lovely well placed dark eye, beautiful expression. Good ears which he never stopped using, good reach of neck, good bone legs and feet.  Nice long tail.  Nice for size.  Moved well but insisted on flying his tail which lost him BPIB.  Well handled and immaculately presented.  Once he gets his act together I am sure he will trouble the best.  One I liked very much.  BPD.

Another lovely SW with good head qualities, good eye and expression, neat ears which he used well, good reach of neck, good bone, legs and feet.  Good length of tail.  Nice for size.  Well handled and presented just preferred the classic cleaner head qualities of 1.

Nice puppy of nearly 12 months, neat head qualities, good eye, neat ears which he used well, good bone, lovely long tail.  Moved well.  Well handled and presented.

  1. Mitchell, Mitchell & Jordan Avonfair Aloysius (JW)

 

Headed a lovely class.  SW who has excellent head qualities, correct stop, lovely eye, lovely melting expression.  Good ears which he never stopped using, lovely arched neck, good bone, front and hind quarters, super length of tail.  Good hindquarters which allowed him to move effortesly around the ring.  Well handled and presented in top order.  Delighted to award him the Res CC.  Thought he complimented my CC winner nicely and thought they made a lovely pair of similar type.

  1. Port Medley Of Flame Disco Dave

 

Classic upstanding SW of 14 months, beautiful head qualities, well placed stop and nicely shaped dark eye, good ear carriage, super reach of neck, good shoulder placement, beautiful shape, super long tail, good front and hind quarters which allowed him to float around the ring, everything is in the right place.  Liked him very much.  Just needs more coat and I am sure he will trouble the best.  Well handled and presented.  Unlucky to meet 1 who was in full coat.

SW 16 months nice for size and in excellent coat and condition for his age, lovely head, eye and expression, super reach of neck, good front and hindquarters which enabled him to move well.  Well placed ears which he never stopped using.  Good bone.  Lovely long tail.  Moved well.  Immaculately presented as always from this kennel.  Was told that this win give him his JW.  Well done.

Blue Merle 23 months of the most beautiful colour  Neat head qualities with lovely dark eye, super length of neck, good shoulder placement, good legs and feet, super long tail, correct confirmation and very nicely made. Moved well.  Immaculately presented.  Unlucky to meet 1.

Lovely quality tri of 2 years who is nicely put together, super rich tan markings, excellent head qualities, correct stop, lovely dark eye, good reach of neck, good shoulder placement, good bone, legs and feet, lovely long tail.  Moved soundly around the ring.  Immaculately presented.  Pressed hard for top honours.

  1. Collins Triburle Bluebolero

Very masculine merle of lovely colour, good head properties, neat ears which he used enough, good reach of neck, good bone, legs and feet, good tail length.  Not a showing fool but did enough.  Very close to 1 but was very fidgety today.  Well handled and presented.  Moved steadily.

1.         Hawkins and Foy Beldones Toucher Du Bois

Headed a lovely class.  Masculine SW of 3½ years.  Just my type.  Good head qualities, lovely eye, good stop, melting expression, neat ears which he used enough, good reach of neck, good shoulder placement, good front and hind quarters which enabled him to flow around the ring with ease.  Lovely long tail.  Nice for size.  Presented in top order.  I had no hesitation in awarding him the CC (I was pleased to hear that this was his 3rd CC giving him his crown).

Lovely blue merle of super colour, nice head, eye and expression, well placed ears which he used well.  Super arched neck, good front and hindquarters, good bone, legs and feet, super long tail.  Good hindquarters which allowed him to move well.  Really lovely dog.  Well handled and presented. I am sure his day will come.

Lovely SW one of the best movers of today, moved beautifully.  Georgeous head properties, good eye and expression, neat ears which he used well.  Sufficient reach of neck, good bone.  Nice for size.  Well presented.

SW in excellent coat and condition for her 9½ years, neat head properties, nice eye, good ears which she used well.  Good reach of neck, lovely long tail, good hindquarters which allowed to move well. Very well presented.  Won BVIB on her super construction and movement.

Tri just a baby at 6½ months.  Lovely head, eye and expression, lovely dark eye, good reach of neck, nice for size, moved steadily, just needs time.  Very well presented.

SW of lovely type, good head properties, nice eye and lovely expression, neat ears which she never stopped using.  Lovely long tail.  Moved well and very well presented.  Have to commend this exhibitor as all of the dogs from this kennel today were of the lovely same type and were all immaculately presented.

Lovely SW bitch of 13 months, lovely for type, good head, eye and sweet expression, good reach of neck, good front and shoulder placement, good hindquarters which allowed her to move well.  Well handled and presented.  I am sure in the future she will trouble the best.

Headed a nice class of quality bitches.  Beautiful Tri of 3½ years who caught my attention as soon as she walked in the ring, super head qualities, lovely sweet expression, good stop, neat ears which she never stopped using, good front, good shoulder placement, super reach of neck,  lovely long tail, good hindquarters which allowed her to move well.  Well handled and presented.  Was delighted to award her the RES CC.

SW of 3 years, neat head, good eye and expression, neat ears which she used well, super reach of neck, good front and shoulder placement, won this place on her super construction and beautiful movement.  Well handled and presented.  Just preferred the head qualities of 1.

Beautiful bitch of 6 years which belies her age, commanded my attention as soon as she entered the ring, just loved her.  Excellent head, stop in the right place, lovely eye and expression, excellent ear carriage which she never stopped using, lovely front, good shoulder placement, super reach of neck, good bone, legs and feet, lovely long tail.  In the most fabulous coat and condition.  Super hindquarters which just allowed her to move flowingly around the ring, an example in movement, moving with drive and purpose.  One of the best Roughs I have seen in a long time.   Delighted to award her the CC and BOB and pleased to see that she was shortlisted in the group.  Well done.

 

2.         Geddes Ch Ingledene Snow Wanda

Lovely BM of 6 years of the most beautiful colour, good head, eye and expression, good ears, lovely front and shoulder placement, good reach of neck, lovely bone, legs and feet.  She is nicely made and her lovely construction allowed her to move easily around the ring she could certainly do a day’s work.  Well handled and presented.  A worthy champion.
