British Collie Club Open Show 7/12/24

I would like to thank the club for inviting me to judge my first breed show. To all the exhibitors for giving me a lovely entry, which unfortunatly was affected by the storm. I am extremely grateful to those who made it.

Veteran dog or bitch 3/3

1st Ms J & Mr N Milligan Ladnar Trust In Me For Alfsden 7yr blue girl of fantastic colour. lovely head and expression when she decided to use her ears. Well placed stop and correct amount of backskull . Good shoulder placement and spring of rib with well bent stifle and nice short hocks, all combining to being the best mover in this class.BVIB

2nd Miss K Benton Ch Brooklynson Jane Russell Of Oakestelle VW ShCEx 10yr old who needs no introduction this lady still loves to show and has lost none of her qualities. She is the deepest shaded sable with lovely shape and movement . The softer expression of the blue put this lady 2nd . Thank you for bringing her.

1st Mr S & Mrs H Walder Roughrigg The Life Of Riley At Hanvale. Res best dog Best puppy dog Best puppy In Breed.  8 month sable and white  glamour boy , very mature for his age and 100% all male.Stood and showed like a pro , he has a lovely shape with great amount of bone and lovely neat feet. His reach of neck flows into well laid shoulders excellent spring of rib. His head is balanced with the most sweet expression. Moved well . Presentation from all this kennels exhibits was excellent. 2nd Mr R P & Mrs M E Shipp Tremaro Special Agent 7 month sable and white baby who was giving his handler a very hard time . He has the softest expression and with lovely ear placement another pup with good shape and bone , unfortunately could not really assess his movement as he was having fun. Good presentation.Both these boys have a bright future.

1st Mr R Blakie Kourika The Gigilo Best Dog, Best of breed And Best In Show. This young man stole my heart. The most beautiful coloured blue who screamed breed type. His head is well balanced with correct stop and lovely moulding and his expression well that just melts you. Lovely shape with correct lay of shoulder into well sprung ribs with plenty of heart room, lovely bend of stifle into nice short hocks. He has good bone and lovely neat feet. He moved ok with reach in front does need to tighten at the rear but has time on his side. Very well presented. And I could have taken him home. Made my day to see him go Best in Show .

2nd Mrs J Williams Mejola Top Gun JW 16mth upstanding young man with the most perfect rich colour and again correct shape. His head is well balanced , great bone and body on him totally fit for function. Moved ok, he was not happy on the floor. Would love to see him in a ring outside,I just preferred the blues expression.

Graduate Dog 4/1

1st Miss S G Gelder Libanel Erebus Eternal love. Lovely shaped tricolour jet black coat and sparkling whites very well presented. His muscle tone and movement won him the class he was hard work for his handler trying to get his  ears up, typical male . He has a nice head could be softer in expression, another boy who could work all day.

2nd Mr & Mrs D Farthing Didek Once In A Blue Moon. What a lovely coloured blue,correct head with lovely moulding. This was another boy who was not interested in showing his ears . He was too interested in sausages. I would like to see him outside as I think he would be a different dog.

1st Mrs NJ Penachio Malouines Never Ending Story Sable and White on the smaller side but he has everything in proportion. His head is beautifully molded with a soft sweet expression. Well placed shoulders and a good length of body . Well presented . He moved with drive 

2nd Mrs J Dix Barrenclough Diamond Skies He is a lovely boy with the most rich sable coat. Pleasing shape and moved ok. He was not very happy in the hall, another boy that will be different when in an outside ring.

1st Ms J & Mr N Milligan & Marley Alfsden Endless Night. Upstanding tricolour. His head is balanced with a good underjaw and well moulded and a soft expression. Later found out he is the son of my veteran winner and you could tell. Good arched neck and body shape with ample bone and neat feet . He moved well .And was beautifully presented. 

2nd Mrs J M Leese EssanjayFields Of Gold For Firesaga Rich mahogany sable a colour not seen very often these days. Expertly handled by his young handler. Pleasing head and nice shape 0f body his ears are on the light side .He moved well.

1st Mrs K Philips Essanjay Against All Odds Tricolour male with a fantastic shape and presented to perfection, he had the best neat feet of the day. Ample bone and a good size. His head is balanced. I would like just a bit better stop for me .He moved well .

1st Ships Tremaro Million Dollar Baby 7 month old s/w Gorgeous baby girl with a very bright future ahead. She has a lovely shape and a fabulous reach of neck . Her head is so well balanced for her age with the most sweet expression, she stood and showed her wee socks off and moved well . She was seriously considered for BPIB but she was tired at the end of the day.BPB

2nd Blakies Wassail Turn Back Time By Kourika My little heartbreak of the day . She has the most gorgeous expression for a tri which is hard to find. A lovely Shape with a nice reach of neck. She moved ok as she was really unsettled as the poor handler had a very quick change over, I hope she grows on a bit more.

3rd Miss H Preston Tremaro Endless Love . This was this handler's very first show with her young baby, and every new exhibitor needs guidance and encouragement. A lovely puppy and with practice from handler and her young son should have some fun at shows. I wish you both well.

1st Mr CP Bartram Ambatars Dignity  And Pride 6.5mth old rich s/w A big girl for her age i hope she slows down a bit . Fantastic bone and a lovely shape with a lovely long tail . Lacking a bit of backstull at the moment and her foreface will hopefully fill out , but she is just a baby so has plenty of time.

1st Mrs J Hanson Mejola The Special One With Jards S/W girl of classic type she is a wonderful shape  Lovely lay of shoulder and depth of chest . Her head is balanced with a slight stop and nice eye . And her ears were bang on top at all times.Good bone and moved well.

1st Mr&Mrs Walder Roughrigg Red Lagertha JW Now here is an example of the perfect showgirl !!! s/w girl just coming into a lovely fresh coat. Her shape and neck is elegant and clean, lovely lay shoulder going into well sprung ribs and length of back. Her head is well balanced with correct stop and moulded foreface, would just prefer a sweeter eye.

1st Ships Tremaro Kind Of Magic 2.5yr old s/w Oh my days did i fall for this one and later on found out she is the dam to the pups, she has produced well . Feminine girl with the softest of expression , coming from a balanced head with correct stop, well filled foreface and her eye placement which just made me melt. Correct shape and good bone with neat feet , her movement when she managed to slow down was correct with drive and purpose. She was really making her handler work very hard as she was thoroughly enjoying her day out. I could take this girl home. She lost out on BOB but so deserved BB.

So privileged to have 2 worthy champion girls in this class and I really was splitting hairs . Thankyou for bringing them.

1st Mr&Mrs Walder Ch Havale Polly Shelby JW 7yrs young now here was a girl who was having a blast in the ring and i have to admit i love collies with character and she is full of it. s/w in great coat and condition. This is another lady with the softest of expressions that just gives you a tingle. When she stood still long enough she has a lovely shape with good bone and feet moved with purpose . I loved her. RBB

2nd Mrs J Williams Ch Mejola Main Event JW Rich s/w who screams breed type she stood and never put a foot wrong unlike 1 . Her shape and length of back and reach of neck is an example of what breeders should aim for. And of course she moved with drive and purpose, as i said above I really was splitting hairs, but I just preferred the expression of 1st . Again thank you for bringing her.
