Scottish Breeds Canine Club Rough Collies

I would like to thank the Officers and Committee of the Scottish Breeds Canine Club for asking me to judge the Rough Collies and my two very able Stewards, Margaret Paterson and Marie Webb for ensuring the smooth running.

Most of all I would like to show my appreciation to the Exhibitors for entering their dogs and giving me the opportunity to judge them and making my day so enjoyable.

Minor Puppy Dog
1. Mitchell, Mitchell & Jordan AVONFAIR ALOYSIUS Beautiful well-presented sable and white dog with an excellent temperament. He is in excellent coat with a lovely balanced head, eye and ear carriage. Good reach of neck and level topline. He moved effortlessly round the ring with a good tail carriage. Well-deserved Best Puppy Dog and Best Puppy in Breed 2. Blaikie KOURIKA THE GIGOLO Lovely blue merle with a nice balanced head, eye and ear carriage giving that lovely collie expression. Well bodied with good bone and level topline. Moved very well with a good tail carriage. 3. Lockyer SWEETMINT’S WHAT A BUZZ AT GATAJ

Puppy Dog
1. Lockyer PRINCE OF SUNLIGHT THRILLED BY THE DIFFERENCE AT GATAJ A lovely presented sable and white with a lovely head, eye and expression. Good body shape and reach of neck. Another that moved very well with a good tail carriage and level topline. 2. Brooker STARLENGA ALL ABOUT MAJIC FOR CORISIAN A well presented sable and white with a nice head, eye and ear carriage. Good body shape and move moved well carrying his tail correctly.

Junior Dog
1. Farthing DIDEK ONCE IN A BLUE MOON A blue merle with good head and dark eye. He used his ears well but I would have preferred them a little tighter. Good body shape and reach of neck. He moved well. 2. Foster DIDEK ECLIPSE OF THE MOON A blue merle that has a pleasing head, dark eye and ear set. Nice body shape with good bone. A little uneasy with the floor and kept slipping.

Yearling Dog
1. Lockyer GATAJ TURN BACK TIME JW A sable and white with a good head, dark eye and ear carriage giving that true collie expression. Good body shape and well boned. Moved very well with a level topline and tail carriage. Scottish Breeds Canine Club

Graduate Dog
1. Shorten THISTLEWINGS ANDROMEDA AT BRACOISLA A sable and white dog with good head and dark eye. I would have preferred his ears to be tighter. Good body shape and bone. His movement was good but needs to get his tail down. 2. Taylor THISTLEWING FIREDANCER AT BRYANY A sable and white dog with good head, dark eye and ears. Good body shape and bone. His movement was good but another that needs to get his tail down.

Post Graduate Dog
1. Hodges JOPIUM LOVE ON THE ROCKS A beautiful well-presented tricolour dog with a lovely balanced head, eye and expression. Good body shape and bone. Another that moved very well with a good tail carriage and level topline. 2. Houlihan KOURIKA FROSTED ICE A blue merle of good colour with a good head and dark eye and used his ears well. Good body shape and reach of neck. He moved well. 3. Taylor THISTLEWING FIREDANCER AT BRYANY

Limit Dog
1. Johnston JOPIUM FRONT RUNNER A lovely well-presented sable and white dog. He has a balanced head, eye and expression. Good body shape and reach of neck. Another that moved very well with a good tail carriage and level topline. 2. Brodie SHANABURN COUNTRY ROAD A sable and white dog with a nice head, dark eye and ears. Good body shape and bone. His movement was good. 3. Lesse ESSANJAY FIELDS OF GOLD FOR FIRESAGA

Open Dog
1. Blaikie KOURIKA YOU’LL DO FOR ME This beautifully presented Tricolour dog certainly did for me. In fantastic coat. He has a lovely balanced head, moulded foreface, dark eye and well set ears which gives that true collie expression. Excellent body shape with good bone and reach of neck. His movement was excellent with a level topline and good tail carriage. I very pleased to award him the CC and to later discover it was his third and crowning one. 2. Hawkins & Foy DIDEK ECLIPSE OF THE MOON Another lovely dog in excellent condition. A well-presented sable and white with a balanced head, eye and expression. Good body shape and reach of neck. 1. Mills LYNMACK STARMAN AT LEMIVEE A sable and white in good condition with a good head, dark eye and ear carriage. Good body shape and well boned. Like her brother she is in excellent coat with a lovely balanced head, eye and ear carriage. Good reach of neck and level topline. She moved well round the ring with a good tail carriage.

Puppy Bitch
1. Congdon AARONWELL ABLE MABEL The daughter of my Best of Breed. A beautifully presented sable and white bitch in excellent coat. She has a lovely balanced head, moulded foreface, dark eye and well set ears giving that true collie expression. Excellent body shape with good bone and reach of neck. Her movement was very good with a level topline and good tail carriage. Best Puppy Bitch 2. Lockyer UNE COQUETTE DU DOMAINE DES EMERAUDES GATAJ A lovely blue merle puppy that pushed the winner hard. Lovely balanced head with good eye and ear carriage. She is a lovely shape and has a good reach of neck. Her movement around the ring was very good with a level topline and carries her tail correctly. 3. Mitchell AVONFAIR A MILLION DREAMS

Junior Bitch
1. Haslam-Craib ROUGHRIGG RAGGA A very nice sable and white bitch with a lovely balanced head, dark eye and ear carriage. Nice body shape, reach of neck and level topline. She moved very well. 2. Yearling Bitch
1. Hutchings RIVERSIDE SONG THRILLS OF NIGHT AT SCOTTRYE A nice tricolour bitch in good coat. She has a nice head and eye but would prefer her ears a bit tighter. She has a good body shape and moved very well considering her owner was suffering with a broken bone in her foot. 2. Macdonald BRILYN LOOK AT ME A nice sable and white bitch. 1. Gee INGLEDENE POWERED SUGAR A nice coloured blue merle bitch with a good head, eye and ears. Good body shape and reach of neck. Moved well with a level topline and carried her tail correctly

Post Graduate Bitch
1 Mitchell, Mitchell & Jordan AVONFAIR A MILLION LOVESONG The Dam of my Best Puppy in Breed. A well-presented sable and white bitch. She has given her son and daughter her same attributes. She was in excellent coat, has a lovely balanced head, eye and ear carriage. Good reach of neck and level topline. She moved very well round the ring with a good tail carriage. 2 Hobkirk CHANTIQUE SUGAR MOON Another nice bitch. A sable and white with a balanced head, nice eye and ears. 1. Edwards & Bluck PAULARA LUCY IN THE SKY FOR ELSHAJO A lovely tricolour bitch with a lovely balanced head, good foreface, nice dark eyes and good ear set. She is a lovely shape and moved very well round the ring on good feet. Good reach of neck and level topline. 2. Hawkins & Foy BELDONES JUST FOR FUN AT STARLENGA Another lovely bitch that pushed the winner hard. She has a well balanced head with a good foreface, nice dark eye and good ear carriage. Good reach of neck and level topline. Moved well on good feet. 3. Ross MOST MAJESTIC TIMELESS TOUCH AT SAMSHERNIK

Open Bitch
1. Congdon RIVERSIDE SONG DESIDERATA AT AARONWELL The Dam of my Puppy bitch winner. A beautiful well-presented sable and white bitch with a super balanced head, excellent foreface, dark eyes and well set ears giving that true collie expression. Excellent body shape with a super reach of neck and level topline. She moved effortlessly round the ring on good feet with the correct tail carriage. I was pleased to award her a first CC and ultimately Best of Breed. Well Done 2. Hawkins & Foy BELDONES MAGICAL BLISS a lovely bitch that has a well-balanced head, good foreface, nice dark eye and good ear set giving that lovely collie expression. 1. Brooker TELFORTH SWEET DREAMS TO CORISIAN JW An 11year old beautiful sable and white bitch that certainly doesn’t look or act her age. She was really enjoying her day out and never stopped showing. She was well-presented and has a balanced head, excellent foreface, dark eyes and well set ears giving that true collie expression. Excellent body shape with a super reach of neck and level topline. Her movement round the ring was effortless. I was pleased to award her Res CC and was absolutely delighted to watch her go Best Veteran in Show under Mrs Marshall. 2. Walder CH BELDONES LA VITA BELLA FOR HANVALE JW Another lovely sable and white bitch that was well presented. A nice balanced head, foreface, eyes and ears. Good body shape and reach of neck. Moved very well on good feet and carried her tail well. 3. Shipp CH GILLYFLOWER DELLA BUCA DELLE FATE

Special Beginners Bitch
