The Collie Association, 90th Anniversary, Sub Group, Open Show Two
Saturday 29th June 2024


Many thanks to the chairman Mr. Trevor Heywood, secretary miss Sheila Telford and the very hardworking committee for offering me the chance to judge the 90th anniversary open show and making it a wonderful day. I would also like to say, that anyone who can, please either join your breed club committee or make an offer to help on a show day. It is a hard day and the more people that help make things so much easier. The clubs need younger people to keep them going or some will fall by the waste side and that would be so detrimental to the breed we love. I must also give a big thankyou to my two stewards, Dianne Farthing and Penny Sewell. Thank you ladies.


Dogs – Veteran

  1. LYNMACK STARMAN AT LEMIVEE – 8 years s/w. head and eye with lovely expression. Good confirmation, good bend of stifle, nice short hocks. Good depth of chest, lovely condition, moved and showed well. Best veteran dog in breed. Congratulations for also being chosen as best veteran in show. Well done!
  2. CH BROOKLYNSON L DORADO – 7 years s/w. Splitting hairs between first and second, another lovely dog, lovely head and eye, good front and shoulders, plenty of heart room, good confirmation. This dog could work all day without effort.

  1. HANVALE RALPH LAUREN - s/w. Just out of puppy. A lot to like about this youngster. Lovely head and eye, correct ear placement, lovely neck and shoulders, good top line, moved and showed well, will watch his progress with interest.
  2. MAKE IT HAPPEN FOR NIKAL – b/m. Lovely colour, good rounded muzzle, lovely head and eye, good shoulder placement, level top line, stands 4, moves and shows well.

  1. ALFSDEN ENDLESS NIGHT – tri. In excellent condition, jet black coat, good head, well placed stop, nice eye, lovely neck and shoulder placement, level top line, good tail set, nice short hocks, moved and showed well.
  2. INGLEDENE POLAR WIND OVER FIVE JAYS – b/m. Good colour, nice rounded muzzle, lovely eye and expression, level topline, moved and showed well

  1. BELDONES ROCKETMAN – s/w. In my opinion, this dog was outstanding. There is nothing about this dog that is not to like. Love his head, eye and confirmation. Excellent front, lovely bone, good reach of neck and spring of rib. Lovely topline, correct tail placement, lovely bend of stifle with good short hocks. Moved effortlessly. Was told after judging that he is on two CCs, I am sure that his third is not far away. Well done! Best dog and best of breed.
  2. STARLENGA HARRY POTTER WITH ELSHAJO – s/w. I have judged this dog before and I stand by my last critique of him, that he is a lovely dog and top quality. This is another one who should be knocking on the door for CCs. Unlucky to meet the winner. Reserve best dog.
  3. ALFSDEN HE LIVES IN YOU

Bitches – Veteran

  1. CH BROOKLYNSON JANE RUSSELL OF OAKESTELLE – s/w. Nothing to say that hasn't already been said. After winning 8 CCs to date, she has been there, done that and the bought the t-shirt. Well done!

Minor puppy

  1. GATAJ LITTLE MISS SASSY AT TERELIMON – s/w, 7 months. Sassy by name, sassy by nature. Sweet little puppy, needs a little more time. Showed and moved well, was pleased to give her best puppy bitch and best puppy in breed. I am delighted to see that she was also best puppy in show under the best in show judge.

  1. MEJOLA THE SPECIAL ONE WITH JARDS – s/w. head and eye, level topline, good shoulder placement, lovely coat, moved and showed well.

Junior

  1. SKABONA IF I SAW YOU IN HEAVEN FOR CHELBORN (imp swe) - b/m. Another lovely bitch. Lovely head and eye, good shoulders and depth of chest. Lovely bone, level topline, correct tail set, moved and showed well. I am sure she will go far.
  2. HANVALE EDINA MONSOON AT LEMIVEE – s/w. head and eye, correct shoulder placement, goo depth of chest, level top line, moved and showed well, another one to watch.

  1. CHELBORN TELL ME YOUR WISH – s/w. bitch, nice head and eye and sweet expression. Maturing nicely. Good shoulders, good spring of rib and level top line. Moved and showed well.

  1. RIVERSIDE SONG PALOMA NERA AT COLCANIS (imp rom) - tri. A lot to like about her. Sweet head and eye, good reach of neck and depth of chest. Nicely boned, good topline, moved and showed well.

Limit

  1. PAULARA LUCY IN THE SKY FOR ELSHAJO – tri. Looking at this lovely bitch, her expression could charm the birds out of the trees. She has an exceptional head and eye, good reach of neck, lovely spring of rib, nicely boned, beautiful top line, stood 4 , moved and showed well, very well presented. This bitch will go far, was a pleasure to judge her today. A well-deserved best bitch and reserve best of breed. One I would like to take home.
  2. DEMILEWIS DOUBLE TAKE – tri. Very sweet. Good round muzzle, flat skull, well set ears, good neck and shoulders and spring of rib. Moved and showed well.

Open

  1. BELDONES JUST FOR FUN AT STARLENGA – s/w. Absolutely stunning with a melting expression. Good head and eye, lovely shoulder placement and spring of rib. Good topline, lovely bend of stifle, lovely short hock, moved effortlessly, showed well. Another quality bitch, not quite in full bloom. If she had been, I would still be scratching my head between her and the limit winner. Love her to bits. Reserve best bitch
