SKC - OCTOBER - 2023
COLLIE ROUGH
MPD 1 Blake’s Oakley Imagine Dragons at Corydon (Imp Che) 7 month old tri with reasonable head shape and size for his age. Moderate angulation fore and aft giving him a balanced outline. Needs to tighten a lot on the move with age. Well presented in jacket. 2 Farthing’s Derrick Didek Once In A Blue Moon 8 month old merle that has some way to go in terms of being ring ready from today’s showing as he is still very loose all through and although sound on the move he should be better when he tones up. Moderate front and rear construction for toning and angles. Strong proportionate head. In good hard jacket. 3 Foster’s Didek Eclipse Of The Moon.
PD 1 Hodge’s Jopium Love On The Rocks 11 month old tri that was the more fluent mover on the day but as puppies this can change almost weekly. Good head shape and expression. Ample ribbing and depth in chest. Sound on the move but a tad too close going away Age related I’d say. 2 Hassock’s Camanna Cellmate 9 month old sable that is well built under his harsh jacket but as with the other puppies he is still very loose on the move and not so sure footed in profile. That said I am sure that all 4 should improve with age and time. Well presented in jacket.
JD 1 Hassock’s Camanna Cellmate.
YD 1 Crawford’s Stregato Foolish Guy 20 month old sable at that in between stage as he appeared rather leggy on the day and this reflected in his movement although he was sound he was somewhat untidy coming and going away. His head needs to break and fill a tad more in muzzle with time also needs to body up and drop into himself. All this should come with age. Shown in good jacket.
PGD 1 Blaikie’s Kourika You’ll Do For Me This 2 ¼ year old tri was the most efficient mover in this class today. Good head shape and proportions, full dentition and expressive eyes. Moderately angulation front and rear allowing the smooth stride pattern presented in clean harsh jacket. 2 Brodie’s Shanaburn Country Road 2 year old sable Well constructed and balanced all through but today he was carrying a bit of extra weight and this hampered his movement as his build suggested he could be better in that area. Good head to handle with clean lines, well set ears and eyes. 3 Garside’s Demelewis Gang Leader.
LD 1 Beaden’s Marvalan Spirit Of Rock (Imp Pol) Star of the day This tri rising 4 years old has everything knitted together so well to produce a real workmanlike dog that would be happy working all day and have something left in the tank afterwards. Super head shape and proportions, mid eye shade well set ears all giving a pleasing expression. Forehand is as close as you could get and is mirrored to perfection in his quarters giving him a symmetrical silhouette stacked up and on the move where he keeps his shape thanks to his body toning. Presented in close fitting harsh jacket to complete the picture. DCC & BOB 2 Walker, Walker & Ritchie’s Starlenga All That Jazz from Aaronwell Another 4 year old tri with balance and toning all through. Good head to handle strong jaws and full dentition. Enough length of neck into well placed shoulders and straight front. Defined in quarters. Easy on the move in any direction 3 Welsh’s Thistlewing Smoky Quarts.
OD 1 Milligan & Marley’s Alfsden He Lives In You Blue merle rising 3 years old. Scores well in head clean and strong with sweet expression. Strong neck of good length into moderate forehand, deep in chest and sprung in ribbing. Holds a firm topline at all times thanks to his overall body toning. Well prepared in jacket. RDCC 2 Watt’s Culbrae Red Again 6 ¼ year old sable presented in excellent body toning. Strong proportionate head mid eye shade ears set on well and used to his advantage. Moderate angulation all through with good bone and substance without being overdone. Effortless clean stride pattern at all times. Another with close fitting harsh jacket. 3 Blake’s Corydon Pol Roger.
VD 1 Steven’s Cariadhaf Crazy Dream 9 year old sable that is well constructed under his hard jacket but today was too heavy and hampered in his movement. Strong well made head piece. Well toned in body. Ample depth of chest and spring of ribbing, sound moving but not as fluent as he should be. 2 Barron & Jenkins’ Xcode Della Bucca Delle Fate at Rannaleroch (Imp It ) 8 year old tri with much the same remarks as 1st placed dog in that he is well put together but hampered and not so clean on the move due in part to being a tad heavy on the day. Good bone structure and coat texture. In tune with his handler in profile.
MPB 1 Quince’s Oakley Ice Queen for Karafaye (Imp Che) Promising 7 month old blue merle that should do well as she matures on given today’s performance. Well made head piece in proportion to her body. Good length of neck into clean well laid shoulders and overall front. Needs to spring in rib with time. Tad soft in topline as to be expected at her age. Easy on the move in any direction. Well schooled just needs time.
PB 1 Leslie’s Windwalker Morrigan 10 month old tri easily the more composed mover in the class today. good head to handle clean lines, strength in jaws, expressive eyes and well set ears. Balanced angulation fore and aft allowing her to cover the ground with ease and efficiency at all times. Shown in full bloom to finish her. BPIB 2 MacDonald’s Brilyn Look At Me. 10 month old sable that is sound and true on the move once settled. Head is coming well for her age. Mid eye shade, correct scissor bite. Moderately angulated all through. Needs to fill in chest and spring in ribbing with time. Shown in good coat texture. BSB. 3 Haslam-Craib’s Roughrigg Ragga
JB 1 MacDonald’s Brilyn Look At Me. YB 1 Wray-Ramsden’s Takhisis Lady Of Mystery 2 year old sable that is well constructed under her jacket but needs more time to body up to be at her best. Scores in head with expressive eyes and well set ears. Good angulation front and rear giving her balance and an easy movement. Once she matures she should have a bright future. 2 Proctor & Forbes’ Opernball at Intermittent Lake (Imp Svn) 18 month old blue merle that has good angulation all over but for me she is a tad shorter coupled and this showed in her profile movement. Strong yet not overdone head, well set ears and eyes. Ample depth of chest and spring in rib. Topline firm at all times.3 Brodie’s Starlenga All For It.
PGB Very mixed class for size type and movement today. 1 Garside’s Jessopdays It’s Now Or Never 2 ¼ year old sable that may not be the biggest but easily the most balanced and sound on the move. Sweet expressive headpiece. Full dentition and correct scissor bite. Well ribbed up and dropped in chest. Holds her shape at all times static or in motion. Just like more covering on her. 2 Clark Kerr’s Uffspring Uniquely Mayd for Whitecraigs 4 year old tri with similar remarks as 1st place apart from her movement which given her build should have been more fluent. She does have better body covering but needs to settle more in motion. 3 Barron & Jenkins’ Takhisis Summer Solstice at Rannaleroch
LB 1 Wray-Ramsden’s Takhisis Lady Of Illusions 3 ½ year old dam of YB winner? Many of her attributes have rubbed off on her daughter from my notes. Good head to handle with correct set of eyes and ears. Strength in jaws and full dentition. Moderate angulation in forehand and quarters allowing the free and sound stride shown today. well bodied up without being too heavy or overdone in any way, put down in hard clean jacket. 2 Quince’s Thistlewing Celtic Soul for Karafaye 4 year old close to winner in many ways but not so fluent on the go round today. proportionate in head, good expression and full clean dentition. Well ribbed up and toned in quarters. Well presented in jacket. 3 Boyd’s Stregato Ruzzola.
OB Good class to sort out today. 1 Geddes’ Ingledene Sno Wanda 5 year old merle in her prime and so well toned throughout. Scores well in head with strength in jaws expressive almond eyes and well set ears that she uses to her advantage. Well angulated fore and aft with strong bone and substance without being heavy or overdone in any area. Comes into her own on the move with fluency and controlled pace covering the ground easily. Put down to the minute in harsh jacket to complete the picture. BCC but had to concede to the male today that was just more composed in the run off. 2 Beaden & Arrowsmith’s Ch Saganan Blue Diamond JW Another blue merle this time 6 years old and like winner showed her socks off but not quite so well bodied today. good head piece appealing almond eyes ears set well and used to her benefit. Strong well angulated front assembly with matching quarters. Effortless sound movement. Another presented to the max in jacket and conditioning. RBCC. 3 Blake’s Corydon Clarissa.
VB Pleasure to judge this class of females, just shows what good husbandry can do for any breed as all 3 were toned and well prepared. 1 Hodges’ Jopium Love Heart JW ShCM 8 ½ years young this sable belies her age and was probably one of the best toned here today. clean proportionate head appealing expression from her well set ears and eyes. Very well laid shoulders and straight front. Matching quarters allowed her the easy stride displayed here. Presented in close fitting harsh jacket to finish her. BVIB 2 Steven’s Cariadhaf Cookies And Cream for Cambrogan 8 years young tri that pushed hard for that top spot and surely they will swap as she is equally as well constructed under her harsh jacket as winner. Scores in head, strong yet still feminine all through. Well ribbed up and balanced in outline. Effortless profile movement. Again finished to the max in harsh jacket. 3 Brooker’s Telforth Sweet Dreams to Corisian JW
SBB 1 MacDonald’s Brilyn Look At Me 2 Clark Kerr’s Uffspring Uniquely Mayd for Whitecraigs 3 Danilova’s Ingledene Blu Moon Risin GCB 1 Steven’s Cariadhaf Cookies And Cream for Cambrogan 2 Clark Kerr’s Uffspring Uniquely Mayd for Whitecraigs.
