COLLIE SMOOTH
I have always had a soft spot for a good Smooth Collie. This is the 18th time I have awarded CCs to the breed, today’s quality was very mixed with little of the uniformity we had years ago.
SBD 2(0) 1. Seager’s Blamorder Magic Maker with Freejack. Only a puppy and showing promise, s/w coat well conditioned, liked his head and eye, good neck and super outline, very good mover, BSpB, well done. 2. Rennie’s Diamondfox Sir Galahad (imp FIN). This s/w did not have the head quality of winner but still a nice dog, good quarters and outline, very good mover behind but not so good in front.
VD 3(0) 1. Lusty’s Can Gr Ch. Cardross Red Dirt Road to Blamorder (imp). Surprised myself liking this very big s/w so much but apart from his size so much to like, nice head with good eyes and ears, neck and so well constructed and balanced, very sound and very agile for his 9 years, never stopped showing, DCC, BV & BOB. 2. Smith’s UK Port Sep Gib Ch. Winter Is Coming to Tentola. Very well bodied b/m, liked his head and lovely eyes, good neck and outline, strong quarters, decent mover, all topped with a very correct smooth coat, RDCC. 3. Hayward’s Ch. Foxearth Final Countdown.
PD 3(0) 1. Sewell’s Wynele Strike It Rich to Lewarne. Tri with a lovely head, eye and ears, well constructed and with good quarters, good mover too, shown in gleaming coat and condition. 2. Seager’s Blamorder Magic Maker with Freejack. Repeat. 3. Howe’s Lizoni The Drifter.
JD 3(0) 1. Seager’s Blamorder Magic Maker with Freejack. Repeat. BJ. 2. Warren/Lusty’s Coldelee Jupiter Rises with Blamorder. Well made tri with a pleasing head and eye, good neck and decent outline, good mover too. 3. Rennie’s Diamondfox Sir Galahad (imp FIN).
LD 2(0) 1. Warren/Lusty’s Coldelee Jupiter Rises with Blamorder. Repeat. 2. Wensley’s Constella Hazy Cosmic Jive JW. Quite a nice head and eye, upright in front, decent outline, good behind but tail can spoil at times, erratic in front.
VB 2(0) 1. Pletz-Kazantzis/Busby’s Ch. Foxearth Fandella. Quality tri in lovely condition, beautiful head and eye, full Collie markings, good neck and so well balanced in outline, still very sound but tail can spoil the picture at times. 2. Lusty’s Ch. Blamorder Ice Cream Dream. Again a lovely head on this b/m but eye gone a little full now, very well constructed and again a super mover.
PB 1(0) 1. Holmes/Lusty’s Blamorder Makers Mark. This s/w is very mature for her 10 months, super well constructed body and quality coat, so well presented, lovely head with beautiful expression, good neck, ears a touch light but minimal, so very sound moving, I just loved her, won BCC & BP and would have won BOB had her handler listened to my advice, all found favour with Puppy Group judge.
JB 2(0) 1. Jerrett’s Coldelee Eternal Sunshine. Very nice type s/w with such a pleasing head and eye, very good neck and outline, lovely body and a very good mover. 2. French’s Breckamore Believe It Or Not. This tri has a touch of class about her but I would like a little more of her all through, quality in head and eye, reluctant to use her ears, sound moving but no enthusiasm today.
PGB 2(1) 1. Palmer/Trundley’s Nuuk Saarskali Bila Kaifa Juniperwood (imp CZ) NAF. Tri shown much too fat and top-line and feet could be firmer, decent head and neck, movement not so good.
LB 4(0) 1. Howard’s Shandlmain’s Sofistikate. Liked the head and lovely neck on this tri, very good outline but top-line could be firmer, very sound, pity she doesn’t show off her charms better. 2. Naulls’ Wynele Obsession. Would like a little more length to the outline of this quality tri, pretty head and eye, ears could be tighter, sound and beautifully conditioned. 3. Kennedy’s Shandlmain Serene.
OB 4(1) 1. Sweeney/Lusty’s Blamorder Do Quite Nicely. The colour of this b/m could be better but she is well marked, very good to go over having such a good neck and a sound solid body, all Collie in head and ears, shows all the time and such a good mover, RBCC. 2. Lusty’s Blamorder The Hustler. B/m, again colour could be better but she is heavily marked too but again a nice Collie, very pleasing head and eye, ears a little light, sound active mover. 3. Howard’s Brackenhaye Heartbreaker at Shandlmain.
