Thank you to the Society for inviting me to judge the first breed of dog that I showed at 12 years old and the exhibitors for bringing their lovely Rough Collies. The experience was an ambition come true after so long wanting to judge them at Championship show level. 

 

JD (2,1) 1 Lockyer’s Gataj Turn Back Time. Lovely movement and nicely presented, he was of good size with a nice head, almond eyes that offer a lovely expression, ears well used, good bite, arched neck leading into well set shoulders with good front and topline, presented in good coat. 

 

ND (1) 1 Vescan’s Phreelancer Phinal Salute. Nice male of 2 years with good head, neck and shoulders, sound top-line and good rear, moved out well, presented in lovely coat. 

 

GD (1) 1 Francis’ Monsolana Franz von Assisi mit Peblu (Imp Rus). Beautiful male of 2 years in great coat and moving well around the ring, skull of good shape and size displaying dark almond eyes of correct size, good stop, well set ears that he used, correct bite, strong neck, well muscled and with good arch, shoulders well set and sloping, neat front, sound rear, DCC. 

 

LD (5) 1 Tipper’s Tiganlea True Hero. Mature male with adorable eyes of good size and colour giving a soft expression , good head shape and correct bite, well set shoulders and good top-line, sound movement and presented in lovely coat. 2 Lockyer’s Gataj Out Of The Woods JW. In good coat, moving nicely around the ring, lovely head with dark almond eyes that ‘invite you in’, neck well arched and of good length leading into sloping shoulders, nice top-line and sound rear quarters. 3 Jopson’s Nithview This Is Me. 

 

OD (3,1) 1 Jopson’s Lillyway Lattimer at Nithview. Very nice male with the softest expression from his beautiful eyes, good head shape and nice stop, correct bite, neck well muscled and of good length leading into well set shoulders and top-line, sound rear quarters and good movement, in nice coat and well presented. 2 Nealon’s Ir Ch Essmare King of Hearts. Mature gentleman of 6 years, not showing his age, in full coat and moving well, nice head, eyes and ear set, scissor bite, good neck, shoulders and front, well arched neck leading into a good top-line and sound rear. 

 

VD (1) 1 Drewery’s Ballahanna Bon Jovi at Elshadene. Beautiful male in great condition, moved so well, lovely head, eyes, ears and bite with a good stop, well muscled neck giving a good arch and leading into well sloped shoulders, neat front, good top-line, soundest of rear quarters, presented in lovely coat, RDCC. 

 

PB (3,2) 1 Lockyer’s Gataj All That Sparkles. What a little stunner, so eye catching with so much to like about her, beautiful head with gorgeous soft expression, ears well set, nice stop, good bite, lovely arched and muscled neck, top-line with sound rear and well muscled first and second thighs, so sound on the move, coat of quantity and texture, I am sure this young lady has a bright future, RBCC & BP. PGB (2,1) 1 Wray-Ramsden’s Takhishis Lady of Mystery. Nice young lady, unfortunately just throwing her coat, she has a very pretty head with good ear set and well shaped almond eyes, nice stop and scissor bite, good shoulders and sound rear movement. 

 

LB (4,1) 1 Wray-Ramsden’s Takhishis Lady of Illusions. Very pretty young lady, great head, almond eyes, ears not too big and she used them well, good stop, correct scissor bite, neck carried well, shoulders set well and straight forelegs, nice rear quarters, moved with ease. 2 Drewery’s Ballahanna Bon Ami. Pretty tri lady that had those dark and welcoming eyes, with great pigmentation, head of good proportion and good bite, very sound on the move. 3 Melvin/Jopson’s Lillyway Lemon Sparkle at Nithview. 

 

OB (7) 1 Walsh’s Skabona What A Lady at Joshren. Stunning blue merle, great overall shape and fits my ideal Rough Collie, her head is so in proportion, occiput to stop and from her stop to nose, ears set well, not too large either, great almond eyes and scissor bite, neck with a nice arch that has enough muscle, shoulder that sloped well leading into a good top-line and sound rear with well muscled first and second thighs that produced sound movement, I had no hesitation awarding her the BCC & BOB. 2 Lockyer, Gataj Good Time Girl . A very lovely bitch who was so unlucky to meet 1st today, lovely head, good ears, well used, almond eyes and bite, well set shoulders coming from an elegant neck and leading into a nice top-line and strong, well muscled rear, moved with ease around the ring. 3 Francis’ Ch Peblu Gold Desire. 

 

VB (2) 1 Burrows’ Ch Tiganlea Tinkerbell at Revdvicki. This lady is in superb condition for her 10 years, with a lovely coat and moving like half her age, lovely head, ears, eyes and bite, good neck and shoulders, good top-line for age and sound rear quarters, BV. 2 Melvin/Jopson’s Nithview Country Bumpkin. This lady is only 7 years and in very good condition with an inviting expression, from her lovely eyes, good ear set and bite, neck of good length with enough muscle and good front, sound rear, she moved with drive.

 

Sally Duffin
