The British Collie Club Open Show 3rd December 2022.

II would like to thank the Committee for the invitation to judge one of my favourite breed shows. I would also like to thank the exhibitors for entering as I know this is a small hall and sometimes you can not get true movement due to the mats which are down as some Rough
Collies do not like them, however I was pleased with my exhibits today thank you for bringing them. I would also like to thank my two stewards who kept the ring running smoothly.

Veteran Dog Or Bitch (4)
1.Boyle’s Monsolana Madam Blues Over Barrenclough ShCM VW (Imp Rus) Blue Merle Bitch nearly 8 years old. I judged her about 4 years ago and she can still move like a youngster. She has a well rounded muzzle and almond shaped eyes giving a sweet expression she uses her ears constantly. She has good length of neck and back, nice overall shape moved well.BVIB. 2. Skinner’s Samhaven Time Is Money With Nikal, Tri Colour Bitch with jet black coat coming up to 9 years old, good clean wedge with correct stop, used ears well good length of back with slight rise over the loin moved well. 3. Cooney’s Ch Jopium Stole My Heart At Lingwell 9 year old sable & white male who still looks well for his age, he just didn’t like the hall today, having said that he is well proportioned in body and has a well  moulded fore face, correct stop, nice dark eye he was a bit reluctant to use his ears today. PD (1) Llewellyn’s Avonfair Spellbound With Salsina NAF Sable & White male 1 day short of his first Birthday very nice puppy with almond shape eyes giving a sweet expression, good clean wedge and well placed ears which he used well. Good length of back and depth of chest, stood four square BPD. JD (1) Chaplin’s Takhisis Lysander 17 month old Sable & White dog with rounded muzzle, good eye placement a bit reluctant to use his ears, good reach of neck and back. Moved ok he needs to settle down a little.

GD (3) Howard, Newton & Patterson’s Ladnar Dreamchaser 19 month old Blue Merle dog who in in between coats, has a blunt wedge and a sweet expression, slight stop and well used ears. He has a nice shape and he moved well, just needs time to mature. RBD. 2. Boyle’s Monsolana Aspire To Inspire (Imp Rus)  Tri Colour Dog who has a well balanced head, nice dark eye giving a sweet expression, would like his ears more on top of his head. Good depth of chest and good bone. Bit short in back, moved well. 3 Fielding’s Lillyway Lemon Crush.

PGD (3) Llewellyn’s Red Hot Chilli Pepper Du Clos De Sea-Wind At Salsina (Imp Fra) NAF TAF Sable & White dog who has almond shaped eyes giving a sweet expression, good moulded fore face and well set ears which he used well. Good reach of neck going onto good length of back with well let down hocks and good bone. Moved well. 2. May’s Camanna Careerchangeing For Maqueeba Sable & White dog with Almond shaped eyes well rounded fore face with correct stop a bit reluctant to use his ears. He has good reach of neck with good lay of shoulders and good depth of chest. Nice shape just needs to settle, moved ok.

LD (3) 1. Edward’s Starlenga Harry Potter With Elshajo. 5 year old Sable & White dog who is all male. He has  almond shaped eyes giving a sweet melting  expression, well rounded muzzle, well set ears which he used well. Good reach of neck and length of body and good muscle tones. Good lay of shoulder with good depth of chest and nice tight feet. Well presented, moved well with reach and drive. BD RBOB Well done. 2. Growcott’s LIllyway Legacy. Tri Colour dog 3 years old with jet black coat. Well constructed male with good bone and size. He has good eye placement, nice dark eye giving a sweet expression. He has a  well moulded fore face, correct stop with good ear carriage which he used well. Good reach of neck and length of body going onto well let down hocks. Nice to see him settled today as he can be his own worst enemy. Moved well RBD. 3. Boyle’s Barrenclough Heart Of Gold JW.

MPB (2)(1) May’s Maqueeba Magical Kisses 7 Month old Sable & White bitch with blunt wedge, correct stop with almond shaped eyes, well paced ears which she used well. Good reach of neck onto good length of back and well let down hocks. Very nice shape and a nice puppy, moved ok.

PB (2) Llewellyn’s Avonfair Secret Love Letter To Salsina NAF Sable & White nearly 12 months old and what a stunner she is. She has a well rounded muzzle with oblique shaped eyes giving a melting expression, ears bang on top which she used consistently. Good reach of neck and body length with good bone, she stood and showed like a veteran and moved around the hall with ease. I’m sure she will have an exciting show career. I did consider her for higher awards, just love her. BPB.BPIB RBPIS Well done. 2. Rose’s Beldones Clementine Avec Coloratura NAF. Sable & White Bitch 10 months old, not as mature as the first  she has a sweet eye, ears placed well, fair reach of neck and length of body with good bend of stifle. Moved well.

JB (1)  Beardsworth’s Maysinder Sapphire Reign 13 month old Blue Merle bitch just coming back into coat and lacking maturity at the moment. However well proportioned head, lovely dark almond shaped eye and well placed ears, which were a little over trimmed for me. Well arched neck and shoulder placement. Lovely length of back and clear blue colour. Moved soundly in the small ring we had. This girl just needs time.

MB (1) May’s Maqueeba Magical Blessing Sable & White bitch 7 months old litter sister to the MPB winner. She has a blunt wedge with slight stop and almond shaped eyes, tipped ears which she used well, she has a nice shape in profile she just needs to get a bit more confidence. Moved ok

NB (1) Beardsworth’s Maysinder Sapphire Reign.

GB (3) Growcott’s Lillyway Lemon Breeze Tri Colour bitch jet black coat which is well fitted, she has a melting expression, well balanced head with well set ears which she used none stop. Good muscular neck of great length, topline firm with a slight rise over the loin. Well sprung ribs and well bent stifles. Shown and handled beautifully and moved well. RBB Well done.
2.Boyle’s Barrenclough Touch Of Silk    3 year old sable & white bitch well balanced head with a sweet eye bit reluctant to use her ears, good reach of neck and length of body, however would like to see her in better coat and condition. Moved well.

LB (1) Edwards Elshajo Adored well presented sable & white bitch with a well balanced head and  good ear carriage. She has good depth of chest, well off for bone very nice outline and good conformation. Moved well.

OB (6)(3) Llewellyn’s Salsina Share The Love, 4 years old golden sable & white bitch presented in immaculate condition as were all the exhibits from this kennel. She has a feminine sweet expression, clean head with tipped ears which she used none stop. Lovely reach of neck with good length of back and well let down hocks. Good construction and a super shape. Stood with impassive dignity in the line up and especially in BIS. Beautifully handled and moved soundly In the small ring we had. Wish she were mine…BB BOB and in agreement with my co judge BIS Well done… 2 Beare’s Jemspark Maid In Secret Sable & White bitch lovely balanced head with good stop and eye. Well placed ears which she used well. Well arched neck into well laid shoulders. Firm topline and slight rise over the loin. Overall shape was lovely, she was just unlucky to meet the first. Moved well in the small ring we had.
