29th May 2026
Quite a busy weekend to cover, as there was Bath Ch Show, held on probably one of the best outside show grounds Two club Open shows, Yorkshire CC and Ayrshire CC along with the fabulous collie gathering, known as the ENE, where many of our exhibitors and friends gathered in France. More details from this, later ,when I receive the full and correct results.
Yorkshire CC held their Open show in brilliant sunshine, outside ,with a smallish entry but fewer than usual absent The choice of judge was Jonathan McLenahan who had drawn an entry of 34 over quite a few classes. Maureen Bywater judged Smooth Collies and Tracy Wilkinson had been selected for BIS. SAC Classes to be judged by Jackie Dix
From the 9 males present, BD went to Ladnar Call My Name JW, followed home by Siluto Blue Wizzard at Amberwish taking RBD. BPD was Jopium Just For You at Corisian.
A few more ladies gathered about 19 and topping these was our very well-known Veteran lady, Dreamy. To give her full title, Telforth Sweet Dreams to Corisian JW. RBB was Takhisis Lady of Mystery who carries a few titles gained abroad including her Belgium Ch Title. BPB was Chantique The Witching Hour.
BOB was declared in favour of Dreamy, who also took BVIB, followed home by Takhisis Lady of Mystery with BPB going to Chantique The Witching Hour.
Tracy Wilkinson judged BIS with all awards going to the smooths, judged by Maureen Bywater, of which there were 9 entered and a few absent. BPIS went to Andre & Chan with Chantique the Witching Hour and the Brooker family annexed RBVIS with Dreamy and RBPIS with Jopium Just For You at Corisian.
The Baby puppy class had just one present in the form of Takhisis Lady Is A Tramp and SAC classes, judged by Jackie Dix had the following winners: Lemivee Connie’s Songbird; Ladnar Call My Name and Takhisis Lady of Mystery.
Ayrshire CC held their Open show at Hurlford with a very small entry and a few absent. The nominated judge was Jackie Pritchard – Santaviga and Katherine Notley (Loxleynox) for the SAC classes.
The first class was Veteran D/B with 2 entries, this going to Kourika Frosted Ice. With no further entries until Graduate dog where Roughrigg Rags’n’Riches won this along with RBD. Post Grad had 3 entered with Shanaburn Dark Knight winning. Limit was won by Stregato Foolish Guy for Delseirios who was alone. Open went to Avonfair Aloysius who then took BD. For the ladies, there were a few more, with Sweetmints Yasmin at Roughrigg winning MP. Then no entries up until Graduate where Salsina Love me Do for Whitecraigs won her class of 4. Post Grad went to Shanaburn Midnight Kisses. Avonfair A Million Lovesong took Limit and Open went to Uffspring Uniquely made for Whitecraigs. BB and BOB Shanaburn Midnight Kisses with Salsina Love Me Do at Whitecraigs in reserve. Spl Not bred by Exhibitor class was won by Salsina Love Me Do for Whitecraigs and Best Spl Blue Merle or Tricolour class went to Uffspring Uniquely Mayd for Whitecraigs. The SAC classes had just 7 present for Katherine Notley to assess and her winners were Culbrae Charmed Again and Stregato Foolish Guy for Delseirios. There were no Juniors entered.
As much of the above was taking place, at a very warm and sunny Bath, held on the renamed John Lloyd Showground at Bannerdown, Bath Ch Show took place. The judge for roughs was Mrs A King (Allyking) from Derbyshire, on her 2nd appointment for the breed having completed her first at National Working & Pastoral Breeds. Her entry today was 16 males and 36 females with approx. 8 missing. The result was a New Champion and a first CC for another. It was not long before she found her dog CC winner in Caz Waterhouse and her Lynmead Royal Lover, Eddie. A Sable who won his previous CC’s at Bath last year when Margaret Shipp judged and his 2nd from Peter Farrell at WKC the same year. Sired by Ch Born To Be Quite Famous Lynmead out of Timeless Twilights Sent With Love to Lynmead and he was born November 2022 and a lovely message from Caz to say that due to family commitments, she had to leave and miss the group, along with Eddie and his kennel mate Toyah
The RDCC went to Melissa and her Gataj Just Like Jesse James, who, I think already holds 2 RDCC wins to his name. Sired by Ch Gataj Turn Back Time out of Sweetmints Uptown Girl at Gataj.
Other class winners included: Artiste Nocturne Du Domaine des Emeruades at Gataj (PD); Gataj I Got You Babe (Yearling) Hanvale Alexander McQueen PG; Brookynut Clyde Barrow Limit and Chelborn Look At Me in Special Beginners.
For the ladies, and winning Novice and a 1st ever CC was Lorraine Morey and her Brookynut Tinker Bell. Sired by Very Special Agent Silvestre at Gataj out of Beldones Babycham at Brookynut and she was born 25th August last year. What a lovely day for Lorraine as her puppy dog, Brookynut Clyde Barrow ,also won not only the Limit dog class but his KCSB number. He was born 7th June 2025 and sired by Ch Gataj Turn Back Time out of Brookynut Hot and Spicy.
Winning the RBCC was Eddie’s kennel mate, Lynmead Waiting For Love , Toyah, who is bred exactly as DCC winner. Others to win classes were: Santaloly’s Sky Amidalas VW ShCex, Veteran; Gataj Honeysuckle MP; Kourika Stay With Me PB; Tremaro Fantasy Junior; Gataj Struck By Love, Yearling; Gataj All That Glitters PG and Ch Aaronwell Abel Mabel Open.
BOB was Caz Waterhouse, who then made her apologies to all concerned. Santaloly’s Sky Amidalas was Best Veteran and Chelborn Look At Me, best Special Beginner and BPIB was an automatic win for Brookynut Tinker Bell.
Such a shame that at the last 2 main Ch shows, due to ill health and family commitments, our BOB was not present to represent us in the adult groups, get well to all concerned.
Whilst many attended the above, Dr Lynda Boyle and her Timeless Destiny Star Actis Over Barrenclough JW, won BOB and PG1 at Northumberland County Show from judge Janet Johnson who judged both breed and group but lost out to a Boston Terrier for BIS. It would appear that this society caters for all dog exhibitors by allocating easily accessible parking.
