Apologies to those who do not have access to Social Media as I have no news of show wins to report as owners were far too busy updating their own pages to proclaim various wins etc. However, good to hear from Jo Williams and her Mejola crew as they did let me know of some good wins over last weekend. Jo went to Redditch & District where she came home with BP and BPIB with both Ch Mejola Top Gun and Mejola Some Girls Do where Amanda Mills was judging. This was followed by attendance at Wellingborough & DSC under Russell Jones (Quemerford) and won PPG3 with Mejola Endeavour and Maverick took AVNSC and PG3. I am aware of other good wins but unless you can let me know, they will not be added to these notes.
On a sad note I was sorry to hear that Mary Glover Guest passed recently. Mainly specialising in Shetland Sheepdogs, she always supported both Yorkshire Collie Club and the Northumberland & Durham Collie Club and was, in fact, RKC approved for CC’s in Roughs. She judged at both Leeds in 2023 and SKC in 2016 and will be sadly missed by many
Another piece of sad news, many may never have heard of Daphne Ames, but her funeral will be held Feb 7th at 11.00am, at Croydon Crematorium, East Chapel, Mitcham Road, Croydon CR9 3AT. Daphne would have been 95 this year but in her youth, along with husband, Trevor they always supported the many Open shows in the South of England where they showed a few collies under their affix of Vorda with Vorda The Jostman winning well for them.
