Just to enlighten you all re last week’s notes:  We have some budding film stars to watch out for, not just the handlers but also the dogs! Allow me to explain. Last week, despite the windy but dry weather, a few select dogs (and handlers) were invited to attend a very special photo shoot.
Taking place in the grounds of Windsor Castle, mainly by the start of the “Long Walk” quite a few gathered to be filmed exclusively for the RKC. This is to celebrate the connections between our Royal Kennel Club and the Royal Family.
Our featured film star was none other than Val Tame and her CC winning, Gataj Time After Time at Rahlissa, or as many know her as Daisy, who, of course behaved in a very decorous manner but to Val’s dismay, due to the winds, in some of the shots she displayed a perfect pair of pricked ears!
As many are aware, we, at Antoc, were contacted by a member of the Royal Household to enquire if we could supply a Rough Collie for the Home Farm and Household.  This first contact was when we were based in London, and as things progressed, we were asked to deliver said puppy to Windsor, which we did. On arrival we were met by a lovely couple who immediately took to the puppy, who was now around 12 weeks old and asked what she was called.  Our reply was greeted with “We shall have to change that! As we had actually named the pup Queenie!!!!!   In years to follow, many more collies were taken to Windsor and the Home Farm, and it was a very sad day when the late Queen died as the funeral  cortege actually stopped by the cottage where we had delivered our Queenie, just 60 years earlier.
Now to bring things up to date: News from Brenda Welsh who won at the recent Working & Pastoral Breeds Association of Scotland held last Saturday, although with no CC’s on offer.
The judge was Mrs D Kirkwood-Emery from East Ayrshire, and, according to RKC FAJ, awards CC’s in Dachshunds, GWP and Large Munsterlanders, although is Level 2 for many other breeds. From the original entry of 8 + 13, only 5 dogs and 7 females actually attended.
Taking BD was Lynda Watt and Culbrae Red Again who won Open and RBD was Millubie New Cast In Rydellsky for Jane Rycraft who won his 2 classes and BPD. The only other class winner was Didek Eclipse of the Moon for Mrs L Foster and standing 2nd in the Open class was Nancy Houlihan and her Kourika Frosted Ice beating Brenda and her Thistlewing Smoky Quarts into 3rd.
BB was Brenda Welsh and Thistlewing Magic Lady (sired by the BD) who also won her Open class with Cathy Proctor taking RBB with Didek Moonshine  for Cathbri. Mrs D Clark Kerr with Salsina Love Me Do was alone in Junior. Other entrants included Gemheid May’d of Gold for Stregato; Brilyn Look at Me for Faraliya; Thistlewing Gold Mist and Blamorder Any Dream Will Do.
BOB went to Brenda and BPIB was automatic as there were no female pups present. The Group judge was Jenny Miller with Ernie Patterson for the Puppy Groups but having watched the videos our breed did not feature.
Stefani Flower writes on behalf of Jordan Rundle who has Serenlas Dream Maker, and won BOB, BPIB AND PPG2 at Weston Super Mare CS from judge, Ashlie Carter where 2 classes with 2 entries, were scheduled at Sedgemoor Auction Centre on Remembrance Sunday.
If you do have any good wins, BOB and Group place at Open shows, don’t forget to let me know and I will gladly write up for you.
