With so many entries to be made for future shows, again, I must remind you, please, please check BEFORE making those entries that you are eligible for the class intended. Not only does it cause “bad feelings” amongst your fellow exhibitors, it causes problems for all show secretaries and the RKC. If you do have a BIG win, which counts toward the title of Champion, even if you have won this abroad,  please ensure you are in the correct class. Age classes excepted. There must be nothing worse than winning classes and then finding out that you have been disqualified and both you and your dog’s name could well appear in the KC Journal!

Now to Windsor Ch Dog Show, in the Home Park, Windsor was held on a Thursday, the first of 4 days. Our breed had yet another first-time judge centre stage in Terry Colwell, who is based in Worcestershire and has RKC Approval for a few Pastoral Breeds
The entry was 62, and as usual there were absentees, possibly due to the recent heat, coats and travel conditions and as I was judging another breed I was able to see most of the judging. Allocated a spacious ring and in/out tenting, although cool and dry early in the day, it was not too long before the sun put it’s hat on and warmth returned.
Of the 21 males entered, 4 were marked absent. Taking the CC from Open was one of the breed’s latest Champions, No More Heroes du Clos De Seawind JW, known at home as Flash, owned and shown by Rob Shipp, who left co-owner, wife Margaret at home looking after some future winners in the whelping box. Thanks to Margaret who mailed to let me know of this win. This is his 4th CC having gained his crown at the double SKC weekend. Standing 2nd in Open and taking home the RDCC was Jan Milligan and her blue, Alfsden He Lives In You. Today this win was “bitter-sweet” as Jan recently had a family bereavement and Jan had come with her father, (not a dog orientated person), managed to celebrate with her. Veteran was won by Pedro, With no MPD, Puppy went to Melissa and her Salsina boy; Sophie won Junior with Monty (Takhisis Daggers at Dawn); Yearling went to Hanvale Ralph Lauren who was also 2nd in Special Beginners. Michelle Chaplin won PG with Takhisis Lysander and finally Melissa won Limit with Gataj Turn Back Time. Special Beginners which was a mixed class went to Michelle and Lysander who let me know that although they stayed for the group, did not feature. Thanks for your message.
With 40 ladies entered, about 4 were missing and Veteran bitch saw Hannah Lyall winning with her Santaloly’s Sky Amidalas, who actually won BVIB but also let me know that due to “House Viewing which was previously arranged, could not stay for her group.
MPB saw Melissa and Gataj Exotic Girl winning, Puppy went Stefani Flower and Serenlas Truly Scrumptious, Junior saw Hannah Walder and Hanvale Patsy Stone winning; Yearling was another Hanvale, this was Alex Mills and H. Edina Monsoon with Lemivee, who had been 3rd in Special Beginners. Brookynut Pepperoncini and the Morey’s won Novice. Trevor Perrott had the thrill of winning PG with his Gataj One Moment In Time. Jayne Llewellyn took Limit for herself and Carl with their newly acquired Starlenga Nina Simone. Open went to the eventual CC & BOB winner, Val & John Geddes and now Ch Ingledene Sno Wanda, whose details were published on her last CC win at Border Union.  Jayne Llewellyn was called in for the RCC, having been 2nd in Open and her sable Artzaiak Strawberry Rose for Salsina won this to add to her collection.
BOB went to Val, and in the challenge for BPIB, Jayne handled Salsina’s Red Hot Crush with Gataj for Melissa as Melissa also had the BPB winner, Gataj Exotic Girl with the dog puppy getting the nod.
I received some news from others who have had good show wins, not just at Ch show level but at the dual CA Open shows, held on the Saturday following Windsor. A delighted Monica Wells and her new baby, Gataj Little Miss Sassy at Terelimon won BPIS at the 2nd of their 2 shows having previously won both MP classes at CA and recently took yet another BPIB at Eastbourne & District, so a great start to her show career.
What more could an exhibitor ask for? 2 separate  90th Anniversary  Club shows held in good weather with all exhibitors receiving a suitable memento of the day and the BIS winners also had an embroidered suit carrier as their prizes, along with far too many specials to mention. The overloaded raffle table groaned with bottles of spirits and wine, cakes and all sort of excellent prizes and at lunchtime, every exhibitor was invited to partake of Anniversary Special Cakes, Trifle and other goodies, all free of charge – well done all
Both shows at CA had virtually the same entry numbers, 77 entries from 67 exhibits although not all the entries were the same. Show 1 had Bridgette Bodle (Lionsridge) judging roughs, Ms M Davies (Wystry) for Smooths and Sophie Wray-Ramsden BIS. Show 2 had Ian Entwistle (Tanryn) for Roughs, Jo White (Mejola) for Smooths and BIS was Joan Fryer-Clarke (Vonarkle) deciding BIS
Due to some traffic issues, judging was delayed which actually made it quite a long day for the hard-working Committee and helpers under the guidance of Secretary Sheila Telford. This delay also resulted in some taking advantage of the greatly appreciated, low priced refreshments provided by Tracey Wilkinson and daughter Joanna Lake.  I understand there was a great variety of choice for all which was much welcomed by all, even those with dietary issues. Well Done.
At Show 1, taking BOB in Roughs from Bridgette was Vanessa Cronk and Erica, Skabona If I Saw You In Heaven for Chelborn, Best Dog and confirmed by a message from Owner, was Hanvale Ralph Lauren, with Marianne and Pedro taking RBD and BVD. BPD was Di Collino and Imaginist A Griffin’s Mark. RBB was Georgina Howard and GIB Ch Serenlas Angel of Casatentola. With Sophie officiating for BIS, her choice  was Vanessa and Erica, RBIS to the Smooth Wynele Dressed To Thrill at Breckamore for Anne French. Both BPIS and BVIS went to Smooths.
At Show 2, where Ian Entwistle was judging, many may not have realised Ian had the Tanryn kennel of Roughs and well known in his area and his kennel actually produced CC winners and some overseas Champions. Following a retirement from the Canine World, into, I think, the equestrian world. Good to see him back in the ring. BD went to Brian and Odile with Beldones Rocket Man with Starlenga Harry Potter at Elshajo in Reserve Julie & Eleri.  BVD was another nice win for Lynmack Starman for Lemivee and Alex Mills. (Alex messaged me with the following information: Today Lynmack Starman won Veteran Dog, his 5th time of winning this, then won BVIB for the first time and BVIS also for the first time)
BB was another nice win for Julie Edwards as she won with another rough, Paulara Lucy In The Sky with Elshajo and RBB to Beldones Just For Fun at Starlenga now back with Brian & Odile. BVB was Ch Brooklynson Jayne Russell of Oakestelle and Marianne
Now to BIS, judged by Joan Fryer-Clarke, and her choice for BIS fell to the recently crowned smooth, Ch Wynele Strike It Rich for Lewarne, owned by Julie Sewell and judged by Jo White (Mejola) Only the BPIS and BVIS went to the roughs and they were Monica and her Gataj Little Miss Sassy at Terelimon and Lynmack Starman for Lemivee for BVIB.
