Rough Collies

Rather windy and cold day but it did not stop me admiring the lovely Collies. My emphasis was on movement and typical heads, and there were plenty to choose. Rather surprisingly my BOB came from Veteran class, showing that the soundness carries on even with age. However, there are a good group of younger dogs that will compete for top honors and am keen to follow their career. Thank you for accepting my decisions so well, and a special thank-you to my great ring stewards who not only kept the ring in order, but made sure I will stay warm enough!

PD (4, 1) 1 Chaplin’s Takhisis Lysander. Handsome puppy, good proportions, lovely eye, correct ears, promising head, excellent bone, easy mover. 2 Macdonald’s Wicani Obsidian Dagger At Rossavon. Good proportions, correct bone, long head shape still waiting the underjaw to mature, lovely neck, good coat, happy mover, front needs to settle. 3 Moore’s Wisewyn All The Time In The World NAF TAF.

PGD (5, 2) 1 Beaden’s Marvalan Spirit Of Rock (Imp Pol). Excellent proportions, good head but rather wide set ears, good bone, balanced angulation, good coat, moves well. 2 Broadhead’s Gataj Take It On The Run. Shorter dog with strong bone, good eyes, touch more stop than I prefer, rather wide set ears, very sound mover, correct coat. 3 Harvey’s Afterglow Invocation.

LD (3, 1) 1 Fuller’s Hanvale Arthur Shelby With Damos. Good proportions, excellent bone, good body, head profile could be smoother, lovely coat, strong low set hocks, moves very well. 2 Corben & Harvey’s Ambartr Black Knight At Wicani. Good head profile, touch wide set ears, body needs to mature, correct coat, could have moved better today.

OD (10, 3) Lovely class. 1 Benton, Smith & Smith’s Brooklynson El Dorado. Lovely shape, pleasing head and head profile and eyes, sound, good ribcage, good bone, excellent coat, balanced mover with excellent drive. CC. 2 Grainger’s Ch Samhaven Ballahanna Banjo. Lovely mover, touch wider skull with wider set ears, good eyes, correct bone. Reserve CC. 3 Randall’s Ch Ladnar Mustriharder.

VD (7, 1) Lovely class. 1 Randall’s Ladnar Inkheart JW. Excelled in movement, so precise and efficiently flowing with excellent drive, very sound, good body and rear, correct muzzle, good eyes, good bone, good coat for her age, CC and BOB, Best Veteran. I understand this was her second CC. 2 Daley’s Tremaro Tainted Love At Rahlissa. Sound, well moving veteran, good eyes, excellent hocks, correct coat. 3 Geddes’ Ch/Dk/Nor Ch Ingledene Spirit Of Legend JW.

GCD (3) 1 Daley’s Tremaro Tainted Love At Rahlissa. Repeat. 2 Collino’s Imaginist Waxing Lyrical. 9 years old, good proportions, long head, good eyes, correct bone, happy mover but could have had a bit more drive. 3 Lyall’s Santaloly’s Sky Amidalas.

Sp Beg B (3, 1) 1 Cook & Watkins’ Aniesh Forever Blue With Whatacoo. Smaller female, very feminine, compact, lovely expression, good eyes, good rear, excellent coat, positive mover, good merle colour. Best Special Beginners. 2 Lyall’s Santaloly’s Sky Amidalas. Rather slim today, lovely eyes, rather narrow head, moderate bone, good coat texture, needs more substance.

PB (7, 2) 1 Flower’s Serenlas Pumpkin Spice. Lovely type, excellent balance, promising head, lovely eyes, correct bone, sound mover excellent coat. Good luck for the future! Best Puppy. 2 Harvey’s Wicani Blue Myrabella. Bigger puppy, very sound, good balanve, lovely coat, correct head shape, muzzle already well developed, excellent mover. 3 Wray-Ramsden’s Takhisis Lady Of Mystery.

JB (4, 1) 1 Perrott’s Gataj One Moment In Time. Lovely eyes, touch longer, excellent coat texture, correct bone, excellent mover. 2 Hull’s Lizmark Diamonds For Ever. Lower to the ground than first, profuse coat, long head, good eyes, moves well. 3 Withheld.

PGB (9, 2) 1 Wray-Ramsden’s Takhisis Lady Of Illusions. Excellent type and proportions, lovely expression, correct bone, pleasing outline, correct coat, lovely temperament. 2 Larkin’s Rahlissa Toffee Cake For Denora. Similar lovely shape, softer coat, lovely expression, rear could be stronger. 3 Tipper’s Tiganlea Twinkling Star.

LB (10, 2) 1 Flower’s Serenlas Heaven In Blu. Very sound, moves well, elegant head, correct bone, sound, good coat. 2 Margett’s Lynmead Lemonade For Collingvale JW. Lovely eyes, good profile, moves with good balance, profuse coat. 3 Tame’s Riverside Song Xtra Sweet At Rahlissa (Imp Rom).

OB (9, 3) 1 Tipper’s Tiganlea Too Good To Be True. Lovely type, lovely expression, excellent eyes, correct bone, good body and proportions, good mover, coat could have been better today, Reserve CC. 2 Geddes’ Ingledene Nite N’chanting. Excellent balance in movement, typical topline, excellent muzzle and head profile, lovely expression. 3 Newman’s Phreelancer Phaith Hill.
