Firstly I wish to thank the committee for the invitation to judge this, my first appointment to award CCs in this breed. On reflection this was a satisfying experience and enjoyable day with good weather, most helpful steward and a nice selection of dogs to judge.

Unbeknown to me at the time, both of my principle winners I awarded their third CC to each of them, making them Champions on the day (subject to KC conformation) Randall’s Tricolour Dog Ladnar Mustriharder taking BOB, with the Bitch CC going to Benton’s Sable Brooklynson Jane Russell Of Oakestelle with BOS, my Best Puppy being Lockyear’s smart little Sable lady, Gataj Good Time Girl, of 7 months.

I would also like to convey my appreciation to all those exhibitors who spent a great deal of time and effort in presenting me with excellent Roughs with clean and well groomed coats and soundness and for accepting my decisions in the ring on the day. 

 

MPD (2, 1) 1 Milligan & Marley’s Alfsden He Lives In You. 7 mths old b/m with good length of foreface good ear carriage and expression good front assembly and topline and correct croup and tail set,tight feet good angulation moved out well for a youngster good coat. 

 

PD (2) 1 Hanson & Jards’ Ring Presence. 9 mths old sable, good length of foreface, dark eye and good ear carriage, good length of neck into good lay of shoulder good depth of chest and good rib, good topline, correct croup and tail set, moved out with drive, well angulated tight feet, good clean full coat. 2 Bolt & Hollywood’s Amalie A Chance To Shine. 7 mths old sable good ear carriage dark eye good length of neck good lay of shoulder good angulation movement was good when settled down needs to mature on good clean coat. 

 

JD (1) 1 Lockyear’s Starlenga Elijah Blue At Gataj. 12 mths old b/m, good standard head, clean outlines, good ear carriage, good length of neck and depth of chest, tight feet, good angulation, correct croup, and tail set, kept topline on move, good going and coming, movement with good drive from hocks, well turned out coat. 

 

YD (6, 3) 1 Lockyear’s Gataj Take It On The Run. 16 mths old sable, correct head shape and lines, good length of neck into good lay of shoulders, good depth of chest, tight feet, good topline, well angulated, moved well going and coming,nice turned out coat. 2 Ladnar’s Dancing With Stars. 16 mths old b/m, good length of foreface and ear carriage, clear eye and expression, moved well, overall body needs to mature on, well turned out coat.

 

ND (2, 1) 1 Milligan & Marley’s Alfsden Endless Night. 7 mths old tricolour, litter sibling to MPD winner, same type and features, good overall construction, needs to mature on, moved well, keeping topline, well turned out coat. 

 

PGD (2, 1) 1 Lockyear’s Gataj Struck By Lightning. 2 yr old sable, good length of foreface, correct ear carriage and dark eye, good length of neck into good lay of shoulder, good depth of chest, tight feet, well angulated, moved out well keeping topline, needs to settle down overall, otherwise well turned out and good coat. 

 

LD (8, 2) 1 Randall’s Mustriharder. 30 mths old tricolour caught my eye as soon as he entered the ring, full of confidence and maturity, correct head lines and expression, good depth of chest, good bone and tight feet, well ribbed, good topline and croup, well set hocks, moved out with drive covering ground with ease, good going and coming, handled well, got the best out of him, exceptional coat, pleased to award him my DCC and BOB, not placed in group but looked good in the ring. 2 Lockyear’s Think Of Me Prince Of Sunlight At Gataj (Imp Hun). 4 yr old sable, overall same qualities as winner, movement not as good as first on the day but pushed hard. Placings could change on other meetings, pleased to give him my RDCC. 

 

OD (7, 3) 1 Cronk’s Int Ch Skobona The Gambler At Chelbourn (Swed Imp). 5 yr old tricolour, good length of foreface, dark eye, correct ear carriage, good length of neck going into good lay of shoulder, nice topline and croup, good movement, keeping topline on move, good going and coming, correct coat, nice overall stance. 2 Granger’s 3 yr old tricolour, correct head lines, dark eye, good front assembly, tight feet, good bone, keeping topline on the move, well groomed coat. 

 

SBD/B (2-1) 1 Lyall’s Santaloly’s Sky Armidalas. 6 yr old sable, stood alone, of correct proportions, well groomed and moved out well, handled well, needs to settle when being gone over. 

 

VB (2,1) 1 Stillwell’s Bellawave Caught In A Dream. 7 yr old mature lady, tricolour, feminine head, well bodied, moved out well with drive, good overall stance, conformation and coat for age. 

 

MPB (4,1) 1 Lockyear’s Gataj Good Time Girl. 7 mth old sable, true to here name. Bundle of fun and enjoying herself, when settled she looked the part of a puppy Rough should be, feminine head, good foreface, dark quizzical eye, nice length of neck into well proportioned body, when settled she moved well with drive, good going and coming, kept topline on move, well groomed coat for a youngster. BPIB, also pulled her out for RBCC consideration, but alas lost out to maturity. One to watch for the future I believe. 2 Tipper’s Tiganlea True Hearts Desire. 8 mths old sable, nice feminine head of good proportions, front assembly and body will come with time and maturity, moved out well, enjoyed herself, well groomed coat. 

 

JB (4) 1 Spendelow’s Uffspring Unstoppable. 16 mth old tricolour, good length foreface dark eye, correct ear carriage, good front assembly, well sprung rib, tight feet, correct croup and tail set, good angulation, moved with drive, keeping topline, good coat. 2 Morey’s Beldones Babycham At Brockynutgood. Outlines to head good. Length of neck good, depth of chest, tight feet, good topline and tail set, moved out well. 

 

YB (4,2) 1 Spendelow’s Undreamed Of. 15 mths old sable, feminine head, good length of foreface, dark eye, correct ear carriage, good length of neck and depth of chest, ribs need to mature on a little, tight feet, good topline, moved out with drive from hocks, good overall standard bitch, well groomed coat. 2 Was placed second in previous class.

YB. 2 Burrows’ Revdvicki True Reflection. 8 mth old sable puppy. Tri-colour, nice feminine head of good proportions, dark eye with correct ear carriage, good length of neck, front assembly and ribs, needs to mature on tight feet, moved out well for puppy, well groomed coat. 

 

PGB (6-1) 1 Flower’s Serenlas Heaven In Blue. 3 yr old b/m, good length of foreface feminine expression, correct ear carriage, good length of neck into good lay of shoulders, well sprung rib tight feet correct croup and tail set good movement going and coming good topline well turned out coat. 2 Stevens’ Cambrogan Blowin A Hoolie. 30 mth old sable, good feminine head, dark eye, correct ear carriage, good depth of chest well sprung rib, good topline, tight feet and tail set, moved well, well groomed. 

 

LB (4,2) 1 Mitchell & Jordan’s Scottlyme Qkissagram For Avonfair. 4 yr old sable good length foreface good ear carriage dark eye good length of neck into good front assembly well ribbed good topline with correct croup and tail set good movement good overall standard bitch good coat. Second won SBD/B. 

 

OB (11, 2) 1 Benton’s Brooklyson Jane Russell Of Oskestalle. 6 yr old sable, feminine head of quality, nice flow of neck into correct front assembly, nice feminine expression, tight feet, well sprung rib, good topline and tail set, moved with drive covering ground with ease, a true lady of correct standard and perfection, well groomed coat, gave me great pleasure to award her BCC and BOS. 2 Shipp’s Gillyflower Della Buca Della Fate (Imp Ita). 4 yr old feminine sable of qualities, similar to first lost out to first on overall construction and flow of movement on the day could change places easily on other occasions RBCC.
