Yorkshire Collie Club Open Show  13th February 2022

I would like to thank the Officers & Committee at Yorkshire Collie Club for the invitation to judge the Special Award Classes at their Open show.  Thank you for a lovely day, special thanks to my ring stewards Edith Pryor & Jonathan McClenahan who kept everything running smoothly. Thank you to all the exhibitors who entered under me, giving me a nice entry, it was a privilege to judge your dogs.

SAC Puppy Dog or Bitch Collie  Rough/Smooth 3 (0)

1st Hawkins Breckamore Welsh Honey 7months old s/w bitch.  Good head with flat skull,  needs time to fill out muzzle, dark almond eye giving a pleasing expression. Ears bang on top which she used well.  Nicely constructed, with good bone, lovely reach of neck which added to her overall shape.  Moved well, beautifully presented as always from this kennel.  Will watch with interest to see how she progresses.

2nd Randall’s Ladnar Izadorable 9 months old b/m bitch of good colour.  Nice wedge head, well placed oblique dark eye, ears nicely set.  Balanced throughout, moved and showed well, in good coat.  Preferred overall shape of first. 

3rd Richardson’s Lizoni Va Va Voom

1st  Dix’s Barrenclough Diamond Skies 2 year old s/w dog.  Well balanced head with correct set dark almond shaped eye, well set ears which he used at times.  Well constructed, nice bone, good shoulder angulation.  Well presented  carrying a good coat. Moved well, would like to see him show a little better. 

2nd Whitaker’s Siluto Mysterious Girl 4 year tri colour bitch in good coat with big white collar,  well balanced head, dark almond eye, would like to see her use her ears more. Well constructed, nice bone, short hocks.  Moved well.

This was a lovely class, one where all three exhibits could change placings on another occasion.

1st Cooney’s Jopium Danny Boy At Lingwell 5 year old shaded s/w male. Has clean wedge shaped head, with dark sweet eye, used ears well.  Well constructed male of good proportion, nice bone, good shoulder angulation, deep chest with nice spring of rib, good bend of stifle with short hocks.  Good top line which was held on the move.  In good coat, presented well.  Have admired this dog from the ring side on numerous occasions.

2nd Randall’s Ladnar Inkspot 23 months old tri colour bitch.  Flashy feminine bitch in beautiful dark coat set off against her big white collar.  Clean wedge head, well moulded muzzle, nicely placed dark almond eye, giving pleasing expression.  Nicely proportioned, lovely shape with good bone.  Presented in lovely condition, moved with ease and showed well, attentive to handler.
