Rough Collie
I would like to thank Riddings and District Canine Society for inviting me to judge the Rough Collies at their Open Show on 5th June 2022. Thank you to the committee for a very well run show and also my steward for all their assistance. I would also like to thank everyone who brought their dogs along and allowed me to go over them. I had a lovely day and I was very happy with my Best of Breed and Best Puppy.
Puppy Dog/Bitch (2,1) 1st Bartram’s Ambartr Troubled Gold. This lovely 9 month old sable/white bitch, stood alone, but could not be denied Best Puppy. He has a nice wedged shaped head with a well-rounded muzzle and correct bite. He has well placed ears, giving a pleasing expression. Good length of neck leading to well laid shoulders and a good length of back. Good bone. Lovely strong pasterns and tight feet. He moved well for one so young. I look forward to seeing this boy in the future. Best Puppy
Post Graduate Dog/Bitch (6,2) 1st Bartram’s Ambartr Eternal Spirit. Beautiful 20 month old sable/white bitch. She has a correct shaped head with a nice fill of back skull. She has well placed ears which she used to her advantage. Lovely dark almond shaped eye. Slight stop, but perceptible. Strong underjaw with a tight lip line. Good length of neck. Lovely bone. Nice strong pasterns with tight neat feet, good bend of stifle. Moved well. Best of Breed. 2nd Collins’ Orionsview Oiche Chuin at Rosscarr. 3rd Boyle’s Barrenclough Touch of Silk.
Open Dog/Bitch (5,2) 1st Collins’ Orionsview Oiche Chuin at Rosscarr. 7 ½ year old tricolour bitch with the most feminine expression. She has a lovely clean head with no flare to the cheeks. Good strong underjaw with a tight lip line. Beautiful almond shaped eye. She has a well fitted jet black coat which shows off her fabulous outline. She moved well with ease once she gained her confidence. 2nd Bartram’s Wicani My Molasses. 3rd Boyle’s Barrenclough Heart of Gold JW.
