Judges Critique

Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge at the societies first open show which was friendly and well run, both my stewards were excellent and their help was greatly appreciated. Thank you to the exhibitors, all my dogs today had quality and were very well presented, the open class was particularly difficult for me as all three in this class could have exchanged places for the top spot with each other on any given day.  

Junior (2,0)

1 Troop, Elshajo Made by Magic, a lovely s/w girl with a lovely sweet head and expression, nicely proportioned, good reach of neck and moved well both coming and going, and while I liked this girl a lot she was a little reluctant to being gone over however despite this she shows a lot of promise for the future. 2 Hanson Jards Ring Presence, nice boy, very masculine with clean head and good planes, well rounded muzzle, good reach of neck moved ok but the ring was much too small for this boy to get into his stride, would like to see him in a much larger ring, a little too fond of his tail today. 

Post Graduate (3,1)

1 Boyle Barrenclough Touch of Silk sweet head with correct proportions and well placed stop and nice almond eye shape. Not in full coat but nicely constructed with good angulation and outline, liked her profile, moved well with good reach (RBOB) 2 Leese Essanjay Fields of Gold, very masculine s/s well presented with good bone and nice well rounded muzzle with good head planes, moved well with drive but his tail carriage was a little too high for me probably due to the small ring, again the males needed a much larger ring the females coped much better in the available space.

1 Smith Rashel Razzle Dazzle, lovely b/m girl well presented and showed none stop, she has a lovely head, well placed ears and good reach of neck. A nicely fitted coat gave a good balanced overall profile, she moved well with drive and reach while keeping a good topline which gave her the edge today to take first place. (BOB, G4) 2 Boyle Monsolana Madam Blues over Barrenclough Sh.cm Another very nice girl in excellent coat and condition, a really sweet head and lovely mover who later went on to gain a well deserved win in the Veteran Pastoral Group. 3 Hanson, NI Ch Bel Ch Ambartr Plancee at Jards Jun Ch,
