BANBURY & DISTRICT CA - OPEN SHOW - 2 MAY 2022 

My gratitude must go to the officers and committee of Banbury & District CA for inviting me to judge, also to the exhibitors for entering your dogs under me, I had a thoroughly enjoyable day going over some beautiful subjects. Thank you also to my very efficient steward who kept things moving along smoothly. Presentation was generally excellent and bites correct although teeth could have been cleaner in some dogs.  

ROUGH COLLIES  

PUPPY 2/1  

1st - White's Mejola Main Event - 10 month sable and white quality bitch with harmonious outline, lovely head with flat skull, well placed ears which she used, dark almond eye giving good expression, good reach of neck leading into level topline, nice rise over loin, tail well set on, nicely balanced bitch who moved well and attentive to her handler, good coat of correct texture, beautifully presented. BP and RBOB.  

JUNIOR 1/0  

1st - White's Phreelancer Phederal Agent at Mejola - 10 month old tricolour boy who had not been very well and needs a few more outings, however, very typey and, I feel, in time will mature into a lovely adult. Nice head and underjaw, correct stop, well placed nicely tipped ears, good length of back and nicely held topline on the move, good bone, well balanced front and rear, would be interested to see this boy in 3 years' time.  

POST GRADUATE 4/1  

1st - Scott's Whatacoo The One And Only With Aniesh - 3 and a half year old tricolour elegant dog with nice outline, pleasing head, dark almond shaped eye, well set on ears. Good chest and reach of neck, good topline, good angulations front and rear, neat feet, nicely presented, easy flowing movement around the ring with handler.  

2nd - Regan's Phreelancer Phirst Song - 3 year sable and white very feminine bitch, happy disposition, nice outline with good length of back and firm topline, good head with nicely placed dark eye giving good expression, a little reluctant to use ears today, neat feet, well presented, moved well in all directions.  

3rd - Wright's Aqualita Rosetta - sable and white girl just coming up to 7 years, coat a beautiful rich sable but quite curly and wavy, nice head with flat skull, nicely placed dark almond eye but her ears are not her fortune, nice level topline, did not seem to be fully enjoying her day in the ring but moved ok for her handler.  

OPEN 4/1  

1st - Beaden's Marvalan Spirit of Rock (Imp Pol) - 2 and a half year old tricolour boy of fabulous type, caught my eye as soon as he entered the ring, everything in proportion presenting a harmonious, balanced outline. Beautiful head with correct skull to muzzle ratio, flat skull, the darkest of almond eyes, melting expression, well set ears, lovely reach of neck leading to firm level topline held on the move, good length of back, a beautiful rise over the loin, fabulous length of tail well set on and carried well, excellent front, good length of leg, well angulated front and rear, good reach on movement and moved with grace and elegance in complete unison with his handler. This dog has the impassive dignity of the breed standard and was presented to perfection. Would love to see him in another 2 years or so. - BOB  

2nd - Wright's Pelido David Weir - 9 year old sable and white dog of nice type, holding his age well, pleasing head with well set on and well used ears, dark almond well placed eye, flat skull, some loss of pigmentation on lower lips, level topline held well, well set on tail, good front assembly, balanced angulation front and rear, well off for bone, luxurious coat of correct texture, stood four square and moved well.  

3rd - Scott's Aniesh Touch of Black - 8 year old tricolour dog with beautiful full white collar, nice head and eye placement, dark almond eye, ears just a little low set but used well, good reach of neck, level topline, good length of neck, well set on tail, moved well, just did not seem very enthusiastic today.
