Judge: Mrs. Samantha Wrisdale (Sachenda)
It was my absolute pleasure to judge Rough Collie bitches at this friendly well run show. Having been rescheduled due to COVID-19 from last year to this the committee has had to work very hard to hold this show at all in the current circumstances we all find ourselves in. I thank them most gratefully for all their hard work and for looking after us all so well on the day.
My sincere thanks must also go to the exhibitors for giving me a wonderful entry full of a lovely array of quality bitches and for accepting all my decisions and placings so graciously. In some classes I was literally splitting hairs between placings. Not just at the top of the line but in the lower placings too. My bitch line up was a sight to behold and I could have easily awarded the CC to several out there. I really did appreciate the effort put in to presentation as overall this was excellent. Movement, on the whole, was good too which was very pleasing to see.
For the Best in Show challenge my co judge, Mr Paul Battigan, put forward his Dog CC winner who was the most impressive tricolour INT/LV/EE/LT/BALT/RU CH SKABONA THE GAMBLER AT CHELBORN (IMP SWE) whose fabulous construction and exceptionally effortless movement could not be denied and I was happy to agree that he should be awarded BIS. I’m sure his UK title will not be far away.
VETERAN BITCH (3, 0)
A lovely class with all three being top quality bitches.
1. Burrows’ CH. TIGANLEA TINKERBELL AT REVDVICKI, this 8 year old golden s/w has everything I look for in a bitch. Her head is a dream to handle with good length and the perfect amount of stop and no trace of coarseness at all, sweetest dark almond shaped eye and superbly set and used ears give her the most exquisite expression. She has a great reach of neck down to well laid shoulders, good upper arm, ample bone and neat feet, nice length of back and good rear angulation all come together to give her a beautifully elegant and balanced outline. Looked good on the move from all angles and covered the ground with ease as her construction suggests. Shown on a loose lead to show off her many virtues naturally. Presented in spotless condition. She belies her age and today outshone her younger competitors. It was my pleasure to award her the CC and later with full agreement from my co judge she was also RBIS, BOSIS & BVIS.
2 Brooker’s TELFORTH SWEET DREAMS FOR CORISIAN, another 8 year old s/w who doesn’t show her age. Such a pretty girl, just slightly shorter all over than 1. Her head is clean and excels in stop, dark eye and really lovely expression, well set and used ears. Pleasing make and shape overall and moved as if she were a youngster. In great coat presented very well.
3 Shipp’s RAHLISSA SNOW MAIDEN FOR TREMARO, I must just acknowledge this lovely s/w of 11 years and 9 months. She is still beautiful, still moves really well for her age and she put everything in. She is an absolute credit to her owners. She was just unlucky that 1 & 2 were in such good form and there was no shame in standing 3rd to them today.
MINOR PUPPY BITCH (9, 3)
1 Tipper’s REVDVICKI TAHITIAN PEARL. What a sweetie! At just one day over 6 months this tricolour stood and showed like a veteran. Although she is still a real baby you can already see her potential. Really nice head with clean stop, sweet dark eyes, neat ears and pretty expression. Good reach of neck and length of back. Well angulated front and back. Moved really well for one so young.
2 Hodges’ JOPIUM LOVES TO DREAM, another very promising baby of just over 6 months, s/w, sweet head of nice length with good stop, ears bang on top. Lovely shape with good length of back and wow, what a neck! Moved really well and was presented beautifully.
3 Lockyer’s GATAJ GOOD TIME GIRL
PUPPY BITCH (5, 0)
1 Jones & Blackburn’s ERJON EBONY JEWELS superb tri of just 9 months. A natural showgirl. Her really pretty expression comes from her sweet dark eyes, well balanced head, lovely clean stop and great ear carriage. Fabulous neck and length of back, correct shoulder placement, well angulated front and rear. Moved out freely. She put everything in and did all that was asked of her. Very pleased to award her BPB and that she later went BPIS with full agreement of my co judge. This little lady has a very bright future, I’m sure.
2 Larkin’s RAHLISSA TOFFEE CAKE FOR DENORA beautiful golden s/w of 10 months, full of cheek and enthusiasm. Just my cup of tea. Lovely head and dark sweet eye, great ear carriage all giving her a most gorgeous expression. Well off for underjaw, good reach of neck and body shape. Well angulated and moved with drive. In super coat and condition presented really well. She just needs to keep all four feet on the ground! Nevertheless, her quality won through to RBPB and RBPIS with the agreement of my co judge. I liked her very much and wish her the best of luck going forward. I will watch her progress with much interest.
3 Burrows’ REVDVICKI TRUE REFLECTION.
JUNIOR BITCH (3, 0)
1 Mitchell & Jordan’s SALSINA SECRET LOVE SONG AT AVONFAIR pretty s/w of 16 months. Very nice head, dark eye and sweet expression. Lovely reach of neck and body of good length, moved well. In good coat presented in lovely condition.
2 Brightmore’s MILLUBIE REWIND, almost 16 months, a little shorter all over than 1. Sweet eye, good stop, well placed and used ears, pleasing overall shape, moved well and nicely presented.

SPECIAL YEARLING BITCH (5, 1)
1 Boyle’s BARRENCLOUGH TOUCH OF SILK appealing golden s/w of 20 months with good clean head, pleasing eye and correct ear set. Nice reach of neck, good body length and angulation. Moved freely.

2 Tipper’s TIGANLEA TRUE HEARTS DESIRE s/w of 8 months, another very promising youngster from this kennel. Balanced head, correct eye shape and placement, ears set and used well all give her a sweet expression. Good reach of neck and length of back, well angulated front and rear, moved well as her conformation suggests. In lovely coat and condition.

1 B. TOUCH OF SILK
2 E. SCARLET RIBBONS
3 C. BELLE EPOQUE
GRADUATE BITCH (7, 3)
1 Tame’s RIVERSIDE SONG XTRA SWEET AT RAHLISSA (IMP ROM) this lovely golden s/w caught my eye straight away. She has the most pleasing head and expression, sweet dark eye, ears well set and used to advantage, really good length of neck and angulation front and rear. Moved freely and covered the ground well, in full coat which was presented to a tee.
2 Clare & Pointon’s ALDREEN SILVER TRINKET b/m who appealed for her classic lines. Correct head of nice length with sweet dark eye, well used ears. Lovely make and shape. Moved with drive. Coat of good colour, just not quite the furnishings of 1.
3 Boyle’s MONSOLANA LOVE STYLE OVER BARRENCLOUGH (IMP RUS)
POST GRADUATE BITCH (13, 5)
1 Congdon’s STARLENGA ALL MY LOVE TO AARONWELL TAF, this tri is perhaps a little shorter in head than I usually like but nonetheless she has quality in abundance and her expression really appealed to me, nice eye, well placed stop, moulded foreface, well used ears, good neck and body shape all round, moved well and in good coat.
2 Daley’s RAHLISSA CHARMAINE WITH MELAYLA another quality s/w from this breeder, good length of head with correctly placed stop, sweet eye, lovely shape overall with good height to length ratio and fluent movement.
3 Edwards’ ELSHAJO ADORED
MID LIMIT BITCH (5, 0)
1 Lockyer’s PARADISE GIRL DU CLOS DE SEA-WIND FOR GATAJ (IMP FRA) another beautiful golden s/w who appealed instantly. Lovely head pattern with good foreface, stop and underjaw, sweet eye and expression, well angulated front and rear with short strong hocks which drive her around the ring. Presentation was excellent.
2 McCarte’s BELDONES FUN ‘N’ GAMES AT ROUGHRIGG, this pretty shaded s/w has a pleasing head with clean stop, sweet dark eyes, ears are well set, good underjaw, nice bone and neat feet, her overall body shape is good with a slight rise over her loin, moved well from all directions and lovely presentation.
3 Walker & Ritchie’s NELINKA DE REMEMBER OUR LOVE FOR STARLEGA (IMP FRA)
LIMIT BITCH (10, 3)
A very strong class full of top quality bitches some of which went unplaced. If only I had had more red cards.
1 Llewellyn’s ARTZAIAK SELINA DE SALSINA (IMP ESP) this stunning golden s/w is straight out of the top drawer. She has so many great attributes. Her head is a joy to handle, so clean through her stop which breaks in exactly the correct position, the sweetest dark almond shaped eyes which are obliquely set and ears bang on top all giving the most sublime expression. Her whole outline in side profile is gorgeous with her super reach of neck, really good angulation, short hocks and neat feet, she moved with a good driving action. Presented in tip top condition as one comes to expect from this kennel. Pushed hard in the challenge. RCC today, but I understand she has recently won a CC and I am not surprised, she should easily gain her title.
2 Brooker’s GERIAN SUN KISSES OVER CORISIAN JW, another really lovely s/w with sweet dark eyes and a gorgeous expression. Perhaps a little more stop than one, but her head is still clean and balanced, used her well set ears to advantage and was very attentive to her handler, good arch of neck, deep chest, pleasing body lines and great rear angulation, moved well. In lovely full coat presented in great condition.
3 Walker & Ritchie’s CHANTIQUE CINDERELLA AT STARLENGA
OPEN BITCH (8, 1)
Another really strong class with quality throughout.
1 Llewellyn’s SALSINA SHARE THE LOVE. I see this really glamorous golden s/w is half sister to the previous class winner and their kinship is easy to see as their similarity is quite striking. Again, her head handles really well and her expression is divine. Good front and lovely reach of neck, deep chest, nice bend of stifle and short hocks which enable her to move with drive. In huge full coat presented in immaculate condition.
2 Lockyer’s TAKHISIS HOPE AND DREAMS WITH GATAJ. Really attractive s/w, slightly bigger and longer all over than 1, but still really feminine. Parallel head planes with good clean stop. Lovely dark almond shaped eye, ears used constantly. Nice make and shape. Good angles front and rear, moved out well on strong hocks.
3 GILLYFLOWER DELLA BUCA DELLE FATE (IMP ITA)
