ROUGH COLLIE DOGS

I thank the Kennel Club judges committee for the kind invitation to judge Rough Collie dogs. My swansong for Rough Collies.

I was pleased with most of my first prize dogs, but some classes were very poor quality, and I wondered how they could have qualified. On the plus side presentation was very good, movement was good to fair, but an excellent mover was rare to find.

Veteran (15,5)
1 Skalins, INT CH/GB/LT/NO/DK/FI/NORD Ch Kiss Hug Fantazija - Tri. Excellent head eye and expression, excellent conformation, superb mover, beautifully presented, best vet.
2 Mellish's, Demelewis Catch My Drift - B/M. Lovely head eye and expression, excellent conformation, colour is very poor and mis marked, moved well.
3 Hainie's, Wicani Classic Renaissance - S/W. Very good head eye and expression, good conformation, nice coat and condition, but white factored, moved well.

Minor Puppy (1,0)
1 Lockyer's Paco Rabanne de Remember Our Love with Gataj - S/W - 8 months old. Balanced head, nice eye and expression, head is rather deep through, fair conformation but needs more neck. Moved ok, needs to be more enthusiastic

Puppy (6,2)
1 Randall's Ladnar Mustriharder - Tri - 10.5 months old - Balanced head, nice eye and expression, well placed ears, excellent conformation, well presented. Moved well with correct tail carriage, Best Puppy
2 Lockyer's Gataj Struck By Lightening - S/W - Lovely head eye and expression, a little deep through, neat ears, nice conformation, poor tail carriage, moved well
3 Iley's Hugo Boss In Black Della Verde Scozia - Tri - Nice type head with good eye and expression, good conformation, coat is rather curly, very unsettled in movement

Junior (7,1)
1 Geddes Ingledene Mercury Risin' - B/M - Beautifully balanced head, correct stop, lovely eye and expression, well placed neat ears, excellent conformation with good reach of neck, correct coat of excellent colour, excellent movement, light and effortless, correct tail carriage. CC/BOB (Looked superb in the big ring)
2 Finney's Oh My God de Remember Our Love - Tri - Nice type head with good eye and expression, nice conformation, movement fair, very well presented
3 Verhaegen's Roy Morningstar Angel Silvestre - S/W - Balanced head, but stop is far too deep. Good conformation, moved well

Yearling (10,2)
1 Bluck's Phreelancer Chill Factor - B/M of excellent colour. Balanced head, a little deep through, excellent eye and expression, well placed ears, very good movement
2 Van Kruijesbergen - Our Lad Wally Scot of Brabo Country - S/W - Nice type head eye and expression, good ears, nice body conformation, moved well
3 Adams and Carlyon - Dycoshem Havasupai Wonder - S/W - Good head eye and expression, very reluctant to use his ears, nice conformation, moved ok

Post Graduate (19,4)
1 McCann's Oakland Blue Style Du Clos de Sea-Wind at Zolkhan - B/M of excellent colour. In lovely coat and condition, very good head, lovely eye and expression, excellent conformation, good reach of neck, very good mover, should have no trouble in gaining his title
2 Fuller's Hanvale Arthur Shelby with Damos - S/W Lovely head eye and expression, very good conformation, excellent presentation, excellent mover, just needs a little more coat to complete the picture
3 McLarty's Phreelancer Phortunes Leap - S/W Very good head eye and expression, good conformation, excellent bone, good mover

Mid Limit (12,1)
1 Cornelius Hanvale Tommy Shelby - S/W Balanced head, excellent eye and expression, well placed neat ears, nice body shape, excellent mover
2 Benton & Smith - Brooklynson El Dorado - S/W Larger type than 1, good head eye and expression, well moulded foreface, good conformation, good mover, but gay tail carriage
3 Lockyer's - Once Upon A Time Du Clos de Seawind with Gataj - S/W Balanced head but deep through, lovely eye giving good expression, nice body but needs a better reach of neck, well presented, good mover

1 Lockyer's Think of Me Prince of Sunlight at Gataj - S/W Rather on the small side, balanced head, good eye and expression, nice conformation, good mover
2 Hassock - Camanna Codename- S/W Balanced head, but needs to fill in back skull, nice eye and neat ears, rather over coated, average mover
3 Vogan - Lenosann Midnight Rascal - Tri - Nice type balanced head, good dark eyes, low set ears, good conformation

Best class of the day
1 Wall and Walsh's Int Ch Hawksfields Return to Sender to Joshren at Dalyihaa - Tri - Stood and showed with great dignity. Balanced head refined with no trace of coarsness. Excellent eye giving very good expression, neat well used ears, excellent conformation, excellent reach of neck, excellent mover, floated around the ring. Just a little close in hind movement. RCC
2 Gianpaolo's Int Multi Ch One Extraordinary Blu di Cambiano - B/M Beautifully coloured Blue merle, who left the ring before I could write any notes
3 Cronks - Int Ch Multi Ch Skabona The Gambler at Chelborn - Excellent tri who also left the ring before I could write any notes
