YORKSHIRE COLLIE CLUB OPEN SHOW 25TH MAY 2018

I would like to start by thanking the hard working committee of Yorkshire Collie Club for putting on a well organised show and inviting me to judge at my first breed show. Although the entry was low I had some quality dogs and I was very happy with my main winners. A special thank you to my stewards who did an excellent job and many thanks to all who brought their dogs for me to go over.

  1. Wray-Ramsden’s  Takhisis Magic of Dreams,  9 month old tri, promising masculine puppy of good size and plenty bone, well rounded muzzle, correct stop, well placed dark eyes and good ears which he used well, good overall shape, length of neck into good shoulders, good length of back and tail, good angulation front and back, neat feet, abundance of coat of good colour and well presented, moved ok, he wasn’t keen on the floor.   1. Boyle’s Barrenclough Heart of Gold JW, 17 month old g/s nice head with a good stop, eyes and ear placement giving a sweet expression, good length of neck into good lay of shoulder, nice overall shape with plenty of coat but could have been presented better, attentive to handler, moved well
  2. Ross’ Danfrabek Dizzy Rascal, 18 month old b/m of good size, pleasing head with a good stop, nice eye and ear placement which he was reluctant to show, nice reach of neck with good shoulders, strong front and neat feet, good length of back with a level topline, wasn’t happy on the floor.

Class 8 Post Graduate Dog 1

  1. Brown & Jopson’s Lillyway Lattimer at Nithview, 2 yr old tri who was well presented, well balanced head of good proportions with correct stop and good shape and eye set, nice ear set but he was reluctant to use to his advantage today, good neck and front angulation, nice make and shape, moved well.

Class 9 Limit Dog 3 (1)

  1. Cooney’s Jopium Danny Boy at Lingwell, 2 yr old s/s who I have admired from the ringside and I was pleased that he didn’t disappoint when I got my hands on him, his head is well balanced with a well rounded muzzle, correct placed stop, lovely dark well set eye, flat skull and neat ears which he used well to give a sweet expression, abundance of bone and well muscled, good length of neck into well laid shoulders, good front angulation with a good length of back and slight rise with a lovely turn of stifle and good length of tail, moved well, pleased to award him BD & BOB he went on to RBIS.
  2. Boyle’s Barrenclough Diamond Days JW, 3 yr old g/s of different type to 1 smaller head set but still gave a nice overall expression, nice make and shape and moved well.

Class 10 Open Dog 2

  1. Wray-Ramsden’s Takhisis Dream Weaver, 2 yr old g/s who I have also admired from the ringside and he didn’t disappoint when going over, well balanced head with a flat skull, good stop with correct eye size and placement, good ear set which he used all the time giving a desired expression, lovely make and shape with good front and rear angulation with abundance of coat which was well groomed, moved well around the ring.   2. Blake’s Corydon The Ringmaster, 3 yr old g/s good balanced head with plenty underjaw, nice dark eye and well placed ears which were well used, lovely overall shape and well presented and attentive to handler, moved well around the ring, I preferred the expression and type of 1.

Class 11 Veteran Bitch 3

  1. Growcott’s Jopium Fascinator, 7 yr old tri of good colour and well presented, nice balanced head with correct stop, nice dark eye and well set ears giving a sweet expression, lovely overall shape with good angulation and a coat in full bloom, moved well. BVB BVIB RBVIS
  2. Sibbald’s Lynmead Amalie Love in Blue at Telforth, 10 yr old b/m nice blue colour with a lovely silhouette, well constructed with good angulation front and back, well presented, moved ok.
  3. Annable’s Danfrabek Magics Wildspice with Avisette

Class 14 Junior Bitch 2

  1. Iley’s Call Me Dreamer in Blue for Ileyda Della Verde Scozia (Imp) It, striking 13 mth old b/m of lovely clean blue colour with well broken black marbleing and fully white collar, head is well balanced with good underjaw, ample stop, well placed dark eye and good set ears with a flat skull, good reach of neck into well laid shoulders with correct sound front, good length of back with slight rise over the loin, nice turn of stifle and well let down hocks, nice long tail, very well presented as is expected from this kennel, at one with her handler, moved effortelessy around the ring. BB RBOB
  2. Growcott’s Lillyway Lemon Popsicle, 14 mth old g/s very feminine bitch with a sweet eye and expression, nice make and shape and in good coat and condition, a bit unsettled for her handler today, moved well, preferred make and shape of 1.

Class 15 Maiden Bitch 1

  1. Selwyn’s Breckamore Black No Sugar, 2 yr old tri nice balanced head with length of neck into well laid back shoulders, good length of back and nice jet black coat in good condition, reluctant to show today and didn’t like the floor.

Class 16 Graduate Bitch 2

  2. Ross’ Danfrabek Dancin In The Dark, 18 mth old tri feminine bitch with a pleasing head, nice body shape and well presented, as 1 she was reluctant to show and wasn’t happy with the flooring, preferred head and expression of 1.

Class 17 Post Graduate Bitch 2

  1. Growcott’s Lillyway Lemonade Blush, 2 yr old g/s with a very feminine balanced head, nice dark eye with correct stop and good ear carriage, nice make and shape with good angulation front and back, well presented, moved well.
  2. Boyle’s Monsolana Madame Blues Over Barrenclough (Imp) Sh.CM, 4 yr old b/m of nice clean colour with a fully white collar, nice make and shape with a well balanced head and nice expression, movement let her down.

Class 18 Limit Bitch 6 (1)

  1. James’ Gerian Sunbarley With Jamesfair, 2 yr old g/s who stood out for me in this class, sweet feminine head with nice eye shape and placement, correct stop, flat skull and neat ears which she used to advantage, nice angulation and good make and shape, well presented, moved well.
  2. Blake’s Kinneret Kopper Kisses for Corydon, 2yr old s/s balanced head with good underjaw, good stop and neat ears which she used to her advantage, nice long neck into good shoulders and strong front, nice length of back and nice bend of stifle, well presented and moved well, preferred the expression of 1.

  1. Wray-Ramsden’s Beldones Duchess of Dreams JW, 4 yr old s/s feminine well balanced head with lovely dark well placed eye, good stop, flat skull and neat ears which she used well to give her a sweet expression, nice make and shape with a profuse coat in very good condition and well presented, neat feet, well let down hocks and nice long tail, moved well. RBB
  2. Sibbald’s Ch. Lynmead Amalie Lucy Locket at Telforth, 8 yr old g/s well balanced head, stop in correct place, nice eye and good ear placement, good length of neck and back, good coat and well presented, moved ok, preferred head and expression of 1.
