Collie (Smooth)

Puppy (3, 1 absent)
1st – Martin & Howard’s Shandlmain Blu Chief, masculine blue merle 10 months old male with an appealing overall balance and shape, I loved his substance and elegance which combined to give a pleasing picture, a little strong in head and I would prefer a better moulding of foreface, good ears, excellent front and hind angulation, excellent length of neck, correct spring of ribs and depth of chest, I would prefer him slightly longer in back but I liked his style and he moved very well viewed from all angles, I would prefer a clearer colour although well broken up, Best Dog and Best Puppy In Breed.
2nd – Howard’s Shandlmain Tomohawk, eye catching tri and litter brother to the winner, he has a better head than his brother being well moulded in foreface and he has a very nice almond shaped eye giving a most appealing and masculine expression, his ears were a little light today and he needs to mature in body but a very promising puppy who moved well and has a jet black coat of correct texture.

Junior (1)
1st – Howard’s Shandlmain Scout, masculine tricolour dog of good size and shape, well balanced head although ears a little on the heavy side and eye a little round, well angulated front and back, good depth of chest and spring of rib, I would prefer a slightly longer neck, beautiful tight fitting jet black coat in excellent condition, moved well once settled.

Graduate (3, 1 absent)
1st – Jerrett’s Blamorder Sunny Sky, I really liked this girl as she was so feminine and her head and expression was very pleasing, she exuded collie breed type with her lovely head planes, flat skull, well placed and shaped eyes and completely clean in outline, excellent ears, good angulation front and back, I would prefer a slightly longer neck and a bit more animation, well developed in body and good length of back, moved well from all angles
2nd – Howard’s Jack Mack’s Va Buidhinn of Shandlmain, good sized tricolour male, masculine head, a little round in eye and slightly deep through, good ears, slightly steep in upper arm, good reach of neck, deep chest and well strung ribs, good length of back and good hind angulation, moved out well and with a level topline on the move.

Open Dog (1)
1st – Smith’s ESP PT GIB Int Ch Winter Is Coming to Tentola, there is no mistaking this dog’s sex, he is super masculine and of a good size, pleasing blue merle colour, he has excellent head planes with a flat skull and a correct stop, pleasant expression, slightly deep through in head, good ears which he used well, well angulated front and back, deep chest, well sprung ribs, good length of back, moved a little erratic from behind at times and did not show himself off to his advantage today.

Open Bitch (3, 1 absent)
1st – Benton’s Oakestelle Venus De Milo, ultra feminine blue merle with great style and ring presence and a beautiful clear silvery blue colour and well marbled with black, her overall balance and shape is most appealing, clean head although I would prefer a better moulding of foreface, good reach of neck and good shoulder, a little steep in upper arm, lovely topline, good depth of chest and spring of rib, good hind angulation, moved well from all angles, Best of Breed.
2nd – Benton’s Oakestelle’s Artemis, blue merle girl who is extremely well schooled and does not put a foot wrong standing to attention at all times, she is very feminine with a pleasant eye although I find her rather fine overall and lacking in angulation, moved soundly coming and going.
