Driffield Championship Dog Show – 19-9-2019

Thank you to the committee for inviting me to award my first set of CC’s, I thoroughly enjoyed my day. Sincere thanks to all exhibitors for your entries.
Collie (Rough)

Class 393 VD (5 Entries) Abs: 0 
1st: 958 MELVIN, Mrs & JOPSON Mrs J Starlenga Street Fighter At Nithview 
Attractive s/w of 8 years. Nice head, dark eye and neat ears which he used non-stop. Good length of neck and back with correct topline. Moved very well. His coat was in fantastic condition and presented beautifully.
2nd: 902 BLAIKIE Mr R Ch Willowdene Double or Quits At Wassail 
Well-constructed tri with profuse coat, which unfortunately hid his outline. Good head and ear placement, but not willing to show off his virtues today. Moved Well.
3rd: 915 CLARE Miss T Bluchip Solar Storm Of Skyeshelm 

Class 394 MPD (3 Entries) Abs: 0 
1st: 903 BLAIKIE Mr R Kourika King Pin 
Appealing B/m with excellent colour. Clear blue and well marbled. Good head with flat skull and well-placed stop, correct ear placement all combined to give an attractive expression. Excellent reach of neck, good topline and tailset. Well off for bone and substance, nice bend of stifle. Moved and showed well. BPD.
2nd: 960 McCARTE Mrs M & Mr J Roughrigg Rag 'N' Bone Man 
Another lovely puppy who could change places with 1 on a regular basis. Good head, with flat skull and correctly placed stop, slightly broader in backskull than 1st. Dark almond eyes, well-placed ears which he used non-stop. Super outline with lovely neck & topline. Good bone, coat of correct texture which was expertly presented. Moved well.
3rd: 945 LOCKYER Mrs M Perfect Timing Du Clos De Sea-wind For Gataj (Imp)

1st: 914 BROWN, Miss H & JOPSON Mr R Nithview This Is Me 
s/w with clean head, dark almond eye & good ears. Good body shape with nice reach of neck, good front with nice length of upper arm. Good bend of stifle, straight, neat hocks. Well-muscled. Moved well.

2nd: 987 WRAY-RAMSDEN Mrs S L Takhisis Magic Of Dreams 
Tri who’s longer cast than 1st. Attractive head with well placed stop and kind, almond eye, ears are a touch heavy. Good neck and topline. Moved freely. Jet black coat which was presented well.


Class 397 YD (3 Entries) Abs: 0 
1st: 980 WALKER, Mr & Mrs G & M & RITCHIE Mrs L Norska De Remember Our Love for Starlenga (Imp) 
Another tri with a beautiful jet-black coat, presented to perfection. Nice head with flat skull and good stop, dark eyes and well-placed ears. Nice size, good reach of neck, nice topline & tailset. A touch long in loin for me. Good bone and substance, neat hocks, moved well.

2nd: 946 LOCKYER Mrs M Once Upon A Time Du Clos De Sea-wind With Gataj (Imp)
s/w, smaller made than 1st. Appealing expression, good head and eye, would prefer ears set a bit higher. Good length of back and neck giving a nice outline. Moved well.
3rd: 966 ROSS Mrs Y J Danfrebek Dizzy Rascal 


Class 398 PGD (5 Entries) Abs: 0 
1st: LOCKYER Mrs M Think of Me Prince Of Sunlight At Gataj (Imp) JW 
Beautifully presented shaded sable in great condition. Wedge-shaped head, dark almond eye, good stop and correctly placed, neat ears. Great length of neck & firm topline. Good spring of ribs & depth of chest & well-bent stifle. Short, parallel hocks. Moved well keeping his lovely outline. RCC.

2nd: PROCTOR Mrs C M Wilmaranna Out of The Blue for Cathbri 
Attractive b/m. Similar qualities to 1st. lovely head and eye, neat ears which he used non-stop, beautiful body shape with good bone and substance. Clear blue colour. Moved well, tail carried too high which spoils outline on the move.

3rd: BROOKER Miss J L Corisian French Connection JW 


Class 399 LD (7 Entries) Abs: 2 
1st: CONGDON Mr J F & Mrs M Monsolana Bounty Taste for Aaronwell (Imp) JW Sh.CM 
Upstanding tri with beautiful shape. Great reach of neck, firm topline and good length of back. Profuse jet-black coat. Moulded head giving a kind expression, neat ears which he used well. Moved with drive.

2nd: FLINT, Miss L & AIKMAN, Ms J & FLINT Mrs A Highnol Echos In The Mist For Welanga 
Really nice b/m who has to be handled to be appreciated. Clean, wedge-shaped head with correct stop, flat skull and well-placed ears. Good reach of neck and length of back. Nice size with lovely outline. Moved well, Unfortunately not willing to cooperate with his handler today.

3rd: WRAY-RAMSDEN Mrs S L Takhisis Dream Weaver 

Class 400 OD (9 Entries) Abs: 2 
1st: GRAINGER Miss A Ch Samhaven Sound Track 
Well-constructed s/w. Lovely picture standing and has everything in the right place on going over him. Wedge-shaped head, correct stop & flat skull, Neat ears with correct placement. Dark almond eyes giving a soft expression. Great reach of neck, firm topline & excellent tail-set. Well-laid shoulders, good depth of chest and spring of rib. Well boned with great muscle tone. Well bent stifles and short, parallel hocks. Moved with drive. Very well presented and showed his socks off. DCC.  

2nd: BARRON, Mr J & JENKINS Ms C Xcode Della Bucca Delle Fate at Rannaleroch (Imp) 
Attractive tri who just wouldn’t co-operate today. Good head, moulded foreface, almond eyes and neat ears. Lovely body shape with good reach of neck. In beautiful coat and condition. Moved well.

3rd: CONGDON Mr J F & Mrs M Ch Jugband Blues Du Clos De Sea-wind Via Aaronwell

1st: BOYLE Dr L W Barrenclough Heart of Gold JW 
Small S/w with nice head, eye and ears. Good bone and substance. Level topline with slight rise over the loin. Good depth of chest and well-bent stifles. Short, parallel hocks. Moved true front and rear. Not happy to show himself off today.

1st: GROWCOTT Mrs J S Jopium Fascinator 
Lovely tricolour, just into veteran. I awarded her BOB at a club show a few years ago and still love her. She has a good head with dark eye and well-set ears, giving a soft but alert expression. Good reach of neck, correct body shape, good rear angulation. Presented in lovely coat and condition. Moved well. BV.
2nd: WHITAKER Mrs G Jopium Magical Dream 
Not much to choose between 1st and 2nd. Another tri in gleaming coat and condition with nice construction and movement. I just preferred the sweetness of expression of my winner.
3rd: FARTHING Mr & Mrs D Ladnar One More Time for Didek

1st:  BLAIKIE Mr R Kourika Krystal Ice 
Very appealing b/m baby who is litter sister to BPD. Beautiful, clear colour. Lovely wedge-shaped head, flat skull, almond eye. Ears on top and showed non-stop. Beautiful shape with great reach of neck & length of back. Well-laid shoulders and good upperarm. Well-bent stifles and straight hocks. Moved well. BP.
2nd: BROOKER Miss J L Paris Venise Du Dois Des Amazones for Corisian (Imp)
Ultra pretty s/w. Beautiful head with the sweetest expression. Great reach of neck and lovely outline. Excellent rear angulation. Short, paralell hocks. Moved Well.  
3rd: POINTON Mrs D Aldreen Silver Trinket

1st: HODGES Miss J Jopium Cool as Magic 
Promising tri with jet black coat. Lovely head with moulded foreface, well-placed stop, flat skull and dark almond eye, would just prefer ears placed a little higher. Excellent outline with great reach of neck and length of back. Nice depth of chest, and good rear angulation. Moved & showed very well.

2nd: TIPPER Mr & Mrs J & C J Tiganlea Twinkling Star 
Beautifully coloured b/m. Clear blue and well-broken. Nice head & eye giving appealing expression, nicely placed ears, but not showing her best. Lovely outline with good neck and length of back. Nice size with good bone and substance. Well presented. Moved well.

1st: 983 WELSH Mrs B P Thistlewing Harp String 
Shaded sable who appealed for her overall construction. Wedge-shaped head, good stop, nice eye and great ears. Good reach of neck and length of back. Well angulated front and rear. Fitting coat, which was well presented. Moved with drive.  
2nd: 953 MCLENAHAN Mr J Tiganlea This Is Love 
S/w, different type to 1st. Very pretty expression coming from dark, almond eyes. Good head and ear placement. Nice body shape with good length of neck and rear angulation. Moved well.

3rd: 938 GROWCOTT Mrs J S Lillyway Lemon Popsicle 


Class 407 YB (2 Entries) Abs: 1 
1st: 901 BEADEN, Miss G & ARROWSMITH Ms C Saganan Blue Diamond 
B/m with super body shape. Nicely constructed with good shoulder, correct topline with slight rise over the loin and well-bent stifles. Wedge-shaped head with flat skull & well-placed ears, I would prefer a little more stop to complete the picture. I loved her effortless movement, she floated around the ring with reach and drive. Coat of correct texture and clear colour. Well presented.

Class 408 PGB (12 Entries) Abs: 2 
1st: LOCKYER Mrs M Nasty Girl Du Clos De Sea Wind at Gataj (Imp) 
S/w of nice size and shape. Wedge shaped head, flat skull, moulded foreface & dark almond eye, set obliquely, giving a soft, sweet expression, nicely placed ears, carried well. Good reach of neck & length of back, correct rear angulation. Stood 4 square and moved well.
2nd: ROSS Mrs Y J Danfrebek Dancin In the Dark 
Appealing tricolour with sweet expression. She has a lovely head and eye with good ears. Beautiful body shape with balanced outline and moved well. She didn’t show her best today, but her quality earned her 2nd place in this lovely class of bitches.
3rd: WALDER Mr & Mrs S & H Hanvale Polly Shelby JW 

Class 409 LB (8 Entries) Abs: 1 
1st: WALKER, Mr & Mrs G & M & RITCHIE Mrs L Beldones Baby Think Twice at Starlenga 
Super blue with clear colour. Lovely size with great bone and substance. Balanced head with correct stop, flat skull, nicely placed almond eyes & moulded foreface. Excellent body shape with good reach of neck & excellent topline. Good shoulder and sweeping bend of stifle, straight hocks. Moved with drive. Very well-presented coat which fits her outline. Used her ears enough to show her pretty expression. RCC.  
2nd: LOCKYER Mrs M Takhisis Hope and Dreams with Gataj 
Another young lady that I liked a lot. She has similar qualities to 1st. Beautiful moulded head with almond eye and good ears. Excellent reach of neck and length of back. Well-placed shoulders and good rear angulation. I was splitting hairs between the two, just felt 1st has a slightly sweeter expression. Well presented.  
3rd: BRAND, Mr & Mrs K & T & REID Mr & Mrs J Ronansprey Rumour Has It Sh.CM 


Class 410 OB (12 Entries) Abs: 1 
1st: FRANCIS Mr J G Peblu Gold Desire 
This young sable is everything I’d look for in a rough collie. She’s not overdone in any way. Beautiful head, Moulded foreface, good underjaw, excellent stop and flat skull. Dark almond-shaped eyes, set obliquely and well-placed ears give a sweet expression. Typical outline with lovely reach of neck and good length of back giving a balanced profile. Good layback of shoulder and length of upperarm, good depth of chest and spring of ribs. Nice rear angulation & straight neat hocks. Moved with drive with good length of stride and showed her socks off. One that I’d like to own! Delighted to award her CC & BOB.

2nd: WALDER Mr & Mrs S & H Ch Beldones La Vita Bella for Hanvale JW 
Lovely s/w. Good head with sweet almond eye, good stop and flat skull. Great reach of neck into well-laid shoulders. Excellent topline. Good spring of rib and depth of chest. Well angulated rear which enabled her to move with drive. Very well presented. A worthy champion.

3rd: CONGDON Mr J F & Mrs M Lolita Lempicka Du Clos De Sea-wind Via Aaronwell 
 

Class 411 SBB (3 Entries) Abs: 1 
1st: WHITAKER Mrs G Aniesh Misty Blue Moon of Siluto
B/M who would’ve shown all day, so attentive to her handler. Nice size and shape, wedge-shaped head with flat skull and neat ears. Nice reach of neck and length of back. Good spring of ribs. Well-angulated rear and moved very well. Best special beginner. Delighted to see she won 2nd in the Special beginner’s group, Well done!

2nd: BOYLE Dr L W Barrenclough Golden Linnet JW 
Pretty s/w. fair head with sweet eye and expression. Good body shape & nice reach of neck. A bit flighty on the move, not happy to show herself off today.



Class 412 GCB (3 Entries) Abs: 0 
1st: WRAY-RAMSDEN Mrs S L Beldones Duchess of Dreams JW 
Sable with huge coat which was presented to perfection. Beautiful shape, with nice reach of neck. Well-sprung ribs and good depth of chest. Nicely angulated rear which allowed her to move well. Good head with correctly placed eye giving a sweet expression, neat ears. Another who would’ve shown all day.

2nd: STEVEN Miss S Cariadhaf Cookies and Cream for Cambrogan
Different type to 1st. Tri-colour with nicely moulded head and alert expression. I would prefer ears set a bit higher, but a keen showgirl who makes the most of herself. Great reach of neck and depth of chest. Good rear angulation. Shown in fantastic condition, Moved well.
