British Collie Club Open Show

Sunday 1st December 2019

Many thanks to the officers and committee of The British Collie Club for inviting me to judge Smooth Collies. I was pleased with my entry and my winners. Best in Show was awarded to Hanvale Polly Shelby JW, A beautifully presented bitch with all the qualities the standard asks for, a true showgirl and a lovely mover. In agreement with my co judge we awarded her BIS. Well done. Reserve best in show was the smooth, Foxearth Fudge Wynele, Best Puppy in show was, Chantique Deja Vu, a confident puppy enjoying her day out. Best veteran in show was the Smooth, Ch Manordeifi Satin Doll Of Koczkodan.

Veteran Dog or Bitch – (2,0)
1st Russels – Ch Manordeifi Satin Doll Of Koczkodan.  - Tri colour of 10 years, pleasing head and eye, good foreface and chin, good neck, nice shoulder, good length of leg, good spring of rib, nice shape, moved and showed well. RBB, RBOB, BVIB, BVIS
2nd Moores – Tomalca Buttons’n’bows at Manordiefi – Sable and White with good head, good neck, good length of leg, would prefer better topline. Moved adequately

Puppy Dog (3,2)
1st Coopers – Breckamore Beat That – Blue merle of 9 months in good condition, clean head with good eye set, good underjaw. Would prefer him more masculine. Good shape, once settled he moved ok. BPD, BPIB.

1st Smiths – Multi Ch Winter Is Coming To Tentola – Blue merle, colour could be better, his head is heavy however balanced, good chest, good rib,good bend of stifle, good hocks. I found his movement unsettled at times today, however this did improve once he dropped his tail. BD
2nd Russelsls – Ch Foxearth Fashion Guru For Koczkodan – Sable and White of 10 years, pleasing head and eye, good depth of chest, nice neck, good shape, moved ok.
3rd Moores – Manordeifi Bow Regard

1st Russels – Koczkodan Midnight Sun JW - Sable and White, would like more of her, sweet head and eye, pleasing foreface, good chin, good chest, would like a touch more neck, good shape and topline, moved and showed well.
2nd Jerrets – Blamorder Sunny Sky – Unlucky to meet 1 today. Another bitch with excellent breed type, moved well.
3rd Moores – Blamorder Ridin On A Rainbow To Manordeifi

1st Naulls & Barker – Foxearth Fudge Wynele – My star of the day! I loved everything about this stunning Sable and White bitch. True to her breed type, her head handles beautifully, nice eye, she has a lovely moulding of foreface with correct underjaw, lovely ear set, combined together this presents a beautiful expression. Best dentition of the day. Good front and rear angulation, in superb condition and presented lovely. Showed all of her virtues when stood and moved with drive and purpose around the ring. I had no hesitation in awarding her Best bitch and Best of breed. Congratulations.  
2nd Russels – Koczkodan Serenity – Tri-colour in lovely condition, pleasing head qualities, good front, good shoulders, pleasing neck, good length of back, nice shape. Moved and showed well. Unlucky to meet 1.
