Rough Collies
My grateful thanks to my very able steward Ian Biggs, who kept the ring well organised. Overall I found the quality of the exhibits to be very good – a lot of the major problems of the past seem to have disappeared but some nervousness and weak under jaws seem to be creeping back in. I found my major winners quite outstanding, in particular the Bitch CC & BOB winner, Hawkins’ Brilyn Mollycoddles JW. The winner of a very strong Mid Limit Bitch class, a most delightful S/W bitch of outstanding quality in looks, conformation, movement, handling and presentation. A lovely clean well balanced head, neat ears good dark correctly shaped and placed eye, producing a most exquisite sweet feminine expression. In a well fitting coat of correct texture showing good reach of neck, neat well trimmed hocks on which she moved effortlessly around the ring. I was informed later that this was her third and crowning CC, and she rightly deserved it, winning over some top quality exhibits today.
The Res Bitch CC went to McDevitt’s Multi Ch/Int Ch/Gr Ch Caronlea Hot Celtic Charm. The winner of the top drawer Open Bitch class. What a stunning Tricolour she was. Jet black coat in virtual perfect colour and condition, excellent conformation both standing and moving. Immaculate in handling and presentation and an exhibit with the cleanest of well balanced heads with an expression that was so feminine and exquisite from the correct shaped dark eye and the neat well placed ear carriage. A very close call for the CC today but her days will come in the UK with doubt.
The DCC & BOS went to Johnston’s Sea Dreamer’s One And Only (Imp NLD). The winner of the Limit Dog class – an impressive looking upstanding all male S/W dog that appealed instantly and was not disappointing when handled. Clean well balanced head, good ear carriage, dark eye, all combining to produce a good masculine expression. With a well defined correct textured coat, excellent conformation, moved effortless around the ring and was immaculately handled and presented. He stood atop of some other excellent exhibits in a very strong class. A worthy CC winner and BOS.
The Res DCC was awarded to Wray-Ramsden’s Takhisis Dream Weaver. Winner of the strong MLD class. A lovely clean and balanced headed S/W dog with a very appealing but still masculine expression. In immaculate coat and body condition, moved very soundly, very balanced and eye catching conformation with good reach of neck. Excellent showman very well handled and presented – pushed hard for the CC. Best R/C Puppy winner was Blaikie’s Kourika Kover Girl. Winner of the Bitch Puppy class - an impressive 12 month old S/W, good balanced conformation. In good coat and condition, clean head nice eye and neat ears with appealing feminine expression, excellent reach of neck, good show girl and moved very well. Good handling and presentation. Best R/C Junior winner was Walder’s Hanvale Polly Shelby. An excellent S/W bitch winner of the Junior bitch class. Coat in full bloom with a clean well balanced head, pleasing expression provided by good ear carriage and dark well shaped eye. Moved well and was shown and handled very well.

1 McDevitt’s Denfris Discovery For Caronlea (Imp Rus). A S/W that stood alone. 8 month old of good size and outline. Clean head for its age. Handled and moved well. A little apprehensive when examined but that could have been the noise of the showground and the tannoy forever blasting out!
PD (2)
1 Wray-Ramsden’s Takhisis Magic Of Dreams. A Tricolour with a good body shape and in good black coat and condition. Well balanced conformation with clean head properties and a nice expression. Moved soundly – good handling and presentation. 2 Blaikie’s Kourika Knock On Wood. A very presentable S/W nicely balanced shape, clean in the head and skull. Neat ears and dark eye. Moved well enough and showed well. Just preferred the expression of the class winner.

1 Jones’ Brooklynson Black Diamond With Danco. Stood alone. A well bodied Tricolour in good coat, condition and shape. Clean balanced head with a pleasing expression. Moved soundly enough good handling and presentation.
YD (5)
1 Boyle’s Barrenclough Heart Of Gold JW. A well shaped S/W in good coat, body and condition. Clean well balanced head, moved well. Nice show dog responding well to handler. 2 Lockyer’s Once Upon A Time Du Close De Sea-Wind With Gataj (Imp Fra). Another S/W very similar to first. In good body and coat correct head properties, moved soundly enough and was well handled. 3 Jones’ Brooklynson Black Diamond With Dancol.
PGD (11, 2)
1 Hassock’s Camanna Castalongshadow. A very impressive looking Tricolour with an excellent body shape. In Good correct textured black coat with a particularly clean and well balanced head producing a very likeable masculine expression. Moved very soundly and was shown and presented very well. One with a bright future I feel. 2 Brown & Jopson’s Lillyway Lattimer At Nithview. Another impressive looking Tricolour but not the abundance of coat as first. Nevertheless he still produced a good balanced outline, had all the essentials of good head properties and had a pleasant expression. Moved soundly and was well handled and presented. 3 Hawkins & Foy’s Beldones Blue Echo.

1 & Res DCC, Wray-Ramsden’s Takhisis Dream Weaver. The winner of a very strong quality class. 2 Lockyer’s Think Of Me Prince Of Sunlight At Gataj (Imp Hun) JW. Another impressive looking S/W with a very good clean and well balanced head, showing off his very pleasant masculine expression. Good ear carriage, dark well placed eye. Good conformation in his close fitting coat which was in excellent condition. Moved well around the ring. 3 Boyle’s Barrenclough Diamond Days JW.
LD (7, 1)
1, DCC & BOS, Johnston’s Sea Dreamer’s One And Only (Imp NLD). The winner of an exceptionally strong class of quality exhibits. 2 Grainger’s Samhaven Sound Track. A top quality S/W, as is usual from this kennel. Well bodied but firm, in good condition and well fitting coat. Cleanest of heads with the most appealing masculine expression. An excellent sound mover w3ith neat let down hocks. As always, handled and presented to perfection – unlucky to meet first today but I’ve no doubt his day will come. 3 Cooney’s Jopium Danny Boy At Lingwel.
OD (6, 1)
1 Tipper’s Tiganlea Tone Down. A most exceptionally proportioned Tricolour in good shape, coat and condition. Neat clean well balanced head with good ear carriage and a pleasing expression. In a good black coat of correct colour and texture, moved very well with the correct drive and was well handled and presented. 2 Hollywood’s Amalie Lynmead Say It Again. Another quality exhibit – a very well balanced S/W that was in good coat and condition. Excellent conformation. Clean well balanced head properties with good dark eye and neat ears which were used well to produce a good masculine expression. Moved well, good handling and presentation. 3 McDevitt’s Int Ch/GB Ch/Ir Ch Caronlea Lukin Black Jnr Ch JCW15 CW18.

1 Savage’s Savataurus’s Only The Lonely Vet Ch. Stood alone but at the age of 10 years was in excellent shape and condition for his age. A good showman that seemed to be enjoying his day out, good handling and presentation and he moved soundly around the ring. A credit to his owner and handler.
MPB (5, 3)
1 McIntyre’s Jopium Loves To Sparkle With Meryctin. An 8 month S/W that was in good coat and body condition for its age Clean head with a sweet feminine expression. Moved well and was a good little showgirl well handled and presented. 2 Steven’s Cambrogan Blowin A Hoolie. Another S/W slightly less mature than first at 7 months of age. Was in good coat and condition and had a clean head for its age. Just preferred the overall shape of the winner.

1 Blaikie’s Kourika Kover Girl. Class winner and Best R/C puppy in Breed. 2 Tipper’s Tiganlea Twinkling Star. A delightful B/M in good coat and body condition. She had an overall sound conformation with the coat colour well broken. Clean in the head and she moved well. I just preferred the expression of the class winner. 3 Barron & Jenkins’ Tiganlea Twinkling Saphire At Rannaleroch.

1 Walder’s Hanvale Polly Shelby. The class winner and Best Junior in Breed. 2 Tame’s Oh Suzanna Du Clos De Seawind At Rahlissa (Imp Fra). Another most excellent S/W just pipped on the first placement by a personal preference on their expressions. A clean headed very feminine bitch in good coat, body and condition. Neat ear carriage and a dark eye producing a very appealing expression. Moved soundly and was a good little showgirl ably handled and presented. 3 Collins’ Salsina Share The Passion With Triburle.

1 Shipp’s Gillyflower Della Buca Delle Fate (Imp Ita). A S/W in excellent coat and condition. Good head properties with neat ears and a good dark well shaped and placed eye. Sweet expression moved soundly around the ring and was well handled and presented. 2 Mitchell & Jordan’s Scottlyme Qkissagram For Avonfair (Imp Bel). Another excellent sweet looking S/W bitch same comments made about first apply here also. Just preferred the sweeter expression of the winner though. 3 Coulson’s Beldones Shiraz With Bluchip.

Another really top quality class of Rough Collie bitches. 1 Hawkins’ Brilyn Mollycoddles JW. The star of the show. Bitch CC and BOB. 2 Hawkins & Foy’s Beldones Looks Like Fun. Another top quality S/W bitch- excellent conformation and head properties, neat ear carriage and good dark eye. Very sweet effeminate expression, sound in her movement and was presented in good coat and condition. On the day I just preferred the reach of neck and expression of the winner. 3 James’ Gerian Sunbarley With Jamesfair.
LB (8, 1)
Another class of top quality bitches. 1 Lockyer’s Takhisis Hope And Dreams With Gataj. An eyecatching S/W bitch with a beautiful shape when stood showing. Clean head and skull, neat ears and good dark eye, sweet feminine expression, in excellent coat and condition, moved soundly and was expertly handled and presented. 2 Beare’s Jemspark Maid In Secret. Another quality S/w from the top drawer. Lovely balanced conformation, good showgirl with clean head properties and neat ears and dark well place eye. Very pleasing feminine expression, moved very well. Slightly out of some coat today, but that will return. Exceptionally well handled and presented. 3 Grindley’s Lanrue Ladybird Of Myriehewe.

1 McDevitt’s Multi Ch/Int Ch/Gr Ch Caronlea Hot Celtic. The Res BCC winner and winner of yet another exceptionally high quality class of exhibits. 2 Hodges’ Jopium Love Heart JW ShCM. A most delightful S/W with very good conformation. So balanced when stood showing in a very good coat well presented. Cleanest of heads with neat ears and dark well placed eyes all combining to produce a very sweet and appealing expression. Excellent mover that glided around the ring Just unlucky today to meet the first. 3 Wray-Ramsden’s Beldones Duchess Of Dreams JW.
VB (2, 1)
1 Growcott’s Jopium Fascinator. A 7 yr old Tricolour that although stood alone, deserved her first placing. Good body shape in plenty of coat which was a good colour and was in good condition. Clean head properties neat ears and a pleasing expression . Moved very well. A credit to the owner.
