Championship Show

It was a delight to be asked to judge bitches at Ayrshire Collie Club Championship Show, the club that gave me my first breed show. I thank the late Bill, Joan, still secretary, son Scott the current President and the rest of the committee for the privilege. The show had a lovely atmosphere and I thank the exhibitors for their entries and the sporting way in which they received my judgements.
The overall quality of the entry was very high with no major concerns. My CC winning bitch was Jopium Love Heart who went on to win Best In Show in agreement with my co judge.  Res. CC Mr & Mrs Simon & Hannah Walder’s  Hanvale Polly Shelby JW. My Best Puppy Bitch Blakie’s Kourika Krystal Ice had to give way to her brother for Best Puppy In Show and my Veteran Bitch Mr & Mrs Simon And Hannah Walder’s Ch Heart of Gold De Cabrenysset For Hanvale (Imp Fra) went on to win Best Veteran in Show.

Class 11 Minor Puppy Bitch 3-1
1st Mrs A. Fox and Bruce Fox’s Alanita Constant Shadz O’Jaz. 6 month old sable and white with a lovely expression coming from a good eye, correct placement and well used ears, correct stop and parallel head plains. A good outline with a good front and rear action and strong and confident on the move for a youngster.
2nd Mr & Mrs Derrick and Diane Farthing’s Aldreen Illusion. 7 month old blue merle of good colour with a nice eye, correct ears which were used well, lovely make and shape with a level topline and good angulation front and rear. Moved well.

Class 12 Puppy Bitch 5-2
1st Mr R Blakie’s Kourika Krystal Ice. 7 Month old Blue Merle in good coat and colour. A pleasing head and eye with correct placement and shape of ears giving a nice expression. Good length of back and a deep chest giving a nice outline. Just needing to tighten on the rear movement which I’m sure will come. A bright future I think. BPB. Had to give way to her brother for Best Puppy in Show.
2nd Mr L Kelly’s Samhaven Sister Sara With Ballahanna. A lovely sable and white at 7 months old. Excellent overall make and shape with a good length of back and reach of neck. Good head properties with ears used well. Presented and moved well
3rd Miss S Steven Cambrogan Blowin A Hoolie.

Class 13 Junior Bitch 4-2
1st Jenkins/Barron’s Tiganlea Twinkling Saphire At Rannaleroch. A lovely coloured  Blue Merle of 11 months. Correct level head plains, flat skull and rounded muzzle. Good length of neck with correct proportion of length of back. Moved well.
2nd Mr R Blakie’s Kourika Kover Girl. 15 month old Sable & White with a lovely eye and expression with good head properties. Good body proportions. A little unsettled on the day but should have a bright future.

Class 14 Maiden Bitch 2-0
1st Mrs I Ashe and Miss R Ashe’s Starlenga Thumbilina At Forrestwalk. 21 month old sable & white with a lovely make and shape. Good eye and level head plains. Good reach of neck with level topline and moved well.
2nd Jenkins/Barron’s Tiganlea Twinkling Saphire At Rannaleroch

Class 15 Novice Bitch 3-1

2nd Mrs B Welsh’s Thistlewing Octavia. Sable & white of 19 months of age with good bone and substance. Nice overall outline with a nice deep chest. Showed well for owner using ears nonstop and sound on the move.

Class 16 Graduate Bitch 6-2
1st Mrs D Ware’s Kind Of Magic Della Buca Fate At Wassail. 21 month old tricolour with a pleasing expression. Lovely outline and overall make and shape with level topline and excellent angulation front and rear leading to sound movement.
2nd Mr & Mrs J & M McCarte’s Beldones Fun N Games At Roughrigg. Two year old sable & white with excellent make and shape. Good head properties with a nice eye and pleasing head. Good bone with a level topline and sound movement.

Class 17 Post Graduate Bitch 8-2
1st Mr & Mrs Simon & Hannah Walder’s  Hanvale Polly Shelby JW. 21 month old sable & white in excellent condition and coat. Excellent eye and expression with rounded muzzle and good ears placement. Good topline and sound movement and showed non-stop. Pleased to award her Res. CC
2nd Mrs M Lockyer Nasty Girl Du Clos De Sea-wind At Gataj (Imp Fr). Much of 1 can be said of 2 but lacking the length of coat. Good eye, correct ears and placement with a flat skull and level topline and also moved well.

Class 18 Limit Bitch 7-1
1st Mr & Mrs Robert & Margaret Shipp’s Gillyflower Della Buca Fate (Imp It) Sable & white 2 years and nine months old and a picture of balance throughout. The excellent outline is complimented with a lovely head and expression with a good eye shape and placement and correct set of ears which were used well. Showed well and moved soundly.
2nd Mrs M Lockyer Takhisis Hope And Dreams With Gataj. Another lovely sable & white bitch nearly three years old with excellent make and shape. Lovely eye and well used ears leading to a good reach of neck and balanced length of back. Good bone with good angulation front and rear and moved well.

Class 19 Open Bitch 8-2
1st Miss J Hodges Jopium Love Heart JW.  WOW what a class to win. Absolute quality class which made my job pleasing but difficult. Approaching five years of age and dripping in coat and in superb condition. Sound construction throughout and sound movement to match. Lovely correct wedge shaped head with good eye well rounded muzzle and good placement and use of ears. Pleased to award her the bitch CC and with the consent of my co-judge  BIS
2nd D Muir’s Tiganlea Fairy Tale. Much of what was said of 1 can be said of 2. Another in excellent coat and condition with a good body shape and good bone.  Showed well with a nice head, good reach of neck and sound on the move.
