West of England Collie Society
Open Show 1st April 2018
I have been absent from the show scene for a few years so was honoured to be asked to judge the WECS open show on 1st April. A big thank you to everyone who turned out to exhibit, to the welcoming and friendly committee, and also to my brilliant stewards who took great care of me throughout the day. Although some more attention could have been taken with grooming and the trimming of feet and nails on some exhibits, I was pleased with my overall winners.

His neck is nicely arched with well angulated shoulders and good sprung ribs. He has an appealing head pattern with a smooth, well rounded foreface. He needs to tighten on the move but I am sure that will come with age.

A blue merle with very clean proportioned head planes, flat skull, neat well carried ears and lovely almond shape eyes giving a kind soft expression. With well boned front legs and neat feet, this dog was sound from the front and moving away. Splitting hairs in this class, this dog just lost out to first place as I feel he did not show himself to his full potential on the day.
