COLLIES (ROUGH)
Minor Puppy Dog (1:0 Abs)
1). Lockyer’s Riverside Song Kellent Winner at Gataj; 9 monthd old sable, Nice head with well placed ears, Neck OK, reasonable shoulders leading on to a good straight front. Good rear angulation. Presented in good condition, with a profuse coat and moved satisfactorily when settled.
Puppy Dog (1:0 Abs)
1). Shipp’s No More Heroes Du Clos de Sea-Wind; 11 month old sable male that greatly appealed to me. He has a strong masculine head, which is not in any way overdone. Well placed ears and nice eye shape. Good shoulders and a straight front. Well bodied and good rear angulation. Lovely coat and condition. Considered him very seriously for top honours in the males, but in the end he just lost out on maturity today. A dog that I am sure will have a bright future. BPD, BPIB and RBPIS
Yearling Dog (2:1 Abs)
1). Lockyer’s Think of Me Prince of Sunlight at Gataj; 16 month old classically marked shaded sable. I liked his head, ears and eye shape. He has reasonable shoulders, straight front and good rear angulation. Nice coat and condition and moved well.
Novice Dog (2:0 Abs)
1). Shipp’s No More Heroes Du Clos de Sea-Wind; First in Puppy.
2). Lockyer’s Riverside Song Kellent Winner at Gataj; First in Minor Puppy.
Post Graduate Dog (2:0 Abs)
1). Lockyer’s Think of Me Prince of Sunlight at Gataj; First in Yearling.
Limit Dog (2:1 Abs)
1). Lockyer’s Gataj Beau of Surprises; 2 year old Black tri with a reasonable head, nice eye shape and well used ears. Good neck and shoulders, well bodied with good rear angulation. Presented in nice coat and condition. Moved very positively around the ring. BD.
Open Dog (3:1 Abs)
1). Cronk’s Chelborn Story Teller; 2 year old Black tri. Liked his head and expression and uses his ears well. Reasonable shoulders, straight front, well bodied and presented in nice coat and condition. Moves well, but in the challenge I just favoured the better reach and drive of the Limit winner.
2). Cole’s Alanita All That Jazz; 5 year old Black tri. Just preferred the overall balance of the head on the class winner. Well used ears and nice eye shape. Reasonable neck and a straight front. A touch longer in body than the winner. Good rear angulation and moved ok.
Veteran Dog or Bitch (4:2 Abs)
1). Walton’s Markenfield Sirius Black at Walstar; A 9 year old shaded sable dog who does not look his years. Nice head and ears with a good eye shape. Good shoulders leading into a straight front. Nicely body and has good rear angles. Moves well. Pushed hard by the puppy in the challenge but just won out on maturity to take RBD and then later in the day BVIB and BVIS.
2), Cronk’s Chelborn Decision; another nice male not showing his 8 years of age. Sable with a reasonable head and expression, mobile ears and good eye shape. Good front angles but a little untidy in front when standing, Good rear angulation, well bodied and presented in lovely condition. Moves ok.
Minor Puppy Bitch (5:0 Abs). A nice class of young bitches.
1). Cronk’s Chelborn Wish List; 8 month old sable with a very feminine head, well used ears and a lovely expression. Good shoulders and front with sufficient bone for a bitch. Lovely coat and condition for her age, moved well and sure to have a good future. In the puppy challenge I just opted for the more balanced shape of the dog at this point in time. BPB.
2). Shipp’s On My Mind Du Clos de Sea-Wind; a 7 month old sable with similar attributes to the winner, but less mature at this point. Nice head and expression, Good angulation to shoulders and rear. Moved ok when settled. Still in early puppy coat but nicely presented.
3). Margetts Collingvale Cava; Shaded sable, 8 months old. At that “in between stage” in her development and has a reasonable head with well used ears. Would prefer a straighter front and cleaner action, but this may improve as she matures.
Puppy Bitch (3:2 Abs)
1). Margetts Collingvale Cava; Third in Minor Puppy.
Yearling Bitch (5:1 Abs)
1). Shipp’s Gillyflower Della Buca Delle Fate; 21 month old sable with a pretty head and well used ears. Good shoulders, straight front and nice rear angulation. Presented in lovely coat and condition and moved well around the ring. Sure she will have a bright future.
2). Lockyer’s Beldones Coco Madamoiselle at Gataj; a 14 month old shaded sable and due to her age not quite the maturity of the class winner. She has a good head, with nice eye shape and well used ears. Reasonable shoulders, straight front and good rear angles. Good coat for a Junior and presented in nice condition. Moved well and another bitch that I think has good potential when she matures.
3).Growcott’s Lillyway Lemonade Blush.
Novice Bitch (2:1 Abs)
1). Margetts Collingvale Cava; Third in Minor Puppy.
Post Graduate Bitch (5:2 Abs)
1). Lockyer’s Takhisis Hope and Dreams at Gataj; A very pretty 2 year old sable bitch. Good head and expression with lovely eye shape and well used ears. She has a good neck, shoulder and front, is well bodied for her age and has good rear angulation. Moves well and was presented in first class coat and condition. Splitting hairs between her and the Open winner for top honours and on another occasion I could easily reverse the decision RBB, RBoB and RBIS
2). James’ Gerian Sunbarley with Jamesfair;
3). Tungate’s Prince of Sunshine Let Me Love You; 16 month old bitch. Head slightly finer than the class winner but still in proportion and uses her ears well. Good shoulders, front and all round angulation. Nice coat for her age and moves well.
Limit Bitch (3:2 Abs)
1). Ware’s Bella Bumba Della Buca Delle Fate at Wassail; 2 year old bitch with a reasonable head, good eye shape and mobile ears. Front angulation is ok but I would prefer a straighter front when standing. Rear angles ok, but moves a touch wide behind. Unfortunately not in the best of coats today, but what she had was clean and well presented.
Open Bitch (6:2 Abs)
1). Smedley’s Antoc Soul Diva; A fully mature 5 year old sable bitch. She has a really lovely head with correct eye shape, well used ears and a soft expression. Good neck shoulders and front angulation. Good rear angulation which shows in her smooth flowing movement. Presented in lovely coat and condition – a really top class bitch that I was pleased to award BB, BoB and BIS. Congratulations.
2). Cronk’s Chelborn Kiss ‘N Desire; A 4 year old with many similar attributes to the class winner. Lovely head and ears, good front and rear angulation, well bodied and presented in first class coat and condition. A close decision which could be reversed on another day. I just preferred the overall shape and balance of the winner on this occasion.
3). Growcott’s Jopium Fascinator;
