Rough Collie Bitches

I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge my first championship show and for their friendly hospitality.

Minor puppy bitch 6/1a.
1, Lockyer’s Beldones Coco Mademoiselle at Gataj. 8 month old sable and white. Good conformation with arched neck. Straight front legs with good bone and tight feet well let down hocks and turn of stifle. Head a little strong for me but may refine with age. Move well.
2, Tipper’s Tiganlea Too Good to be True. 7 1/2 months sable /white very nice young puppy beautifully presented but just a little unsettled today clean wedge head well filled muzzle well placed almond eye and good under-jaw. Promising puppy.
3, Jeffries. Tiganlea Sweet Treat

Puppy Bitch 8/2a
1, Mcentees. Gerian Sunheaven. 9 months golden sable with full white collar which emphasised her well arched neck leading to a level top line. Well set dark almond eye. Smooth well filled fore-face and well placed stop, good under jaw. Best Puppy bitch in Breed.
2, Wrays Takhisis Aphrodite 9 months Took my eye as she entered the ring. Her shape and build was what I was looking for but on closer inspection preferred the eye on the 1. Good reach of neck leading to well angulated shoulders, good spring of rib, level back with correct rise over the loins. Strong hind quarters and straight front fore legs. I love something a bit flashy and she was.
3, Grindley’s Lanrue Milly Molly Mandy

Junior bitch 10/3a
1, Hawkins Brilyn Molly Coddles 12month. Another beautiful sable and white and a strong contender for the CC today. I have admired this bitch from the ringside and she did not disappoint me. Her head is a pleasure to handle. Good clean wedge head of good length with slight well placed stop. Flat skull, moulded fore face and strong but clean under-jaw with no throatiness. Ears set on top and used to advantage all giving true Collie expression. Good length of well arched neck. Good angulation fore and aft on strong legs and tight feet. Just not confident enough in this hall during the challenge but I’m Sure her day will come quite soon. Wish I’d been taking her home.
2, Shipps Gillyflower Della Buca Delle Fate. 15 month old sable and white. Another really promising girl and similar comments apply. I will watch their futures with interest.
3, Tames Dolores at Rahlissa.

Yearling bitch. 7/2a
1, Randall’s Samhaven Hopeful Ladner. 1 1/2 year old blue bitch, colour still to clear but well broken up. Good length of back with well angulated shoulders and strong hock well let down, best mover here. Good eye and expression showed well.
2, Williams-Smiths Denton Delightfully Wicked. Took my eye as she entered the ring for her overall balance arched neck and level top line with correct length of leg. Clean well balanced head with correctly placed stop. Just preferred the eye of 1 but a very nice bitch.
3, Hollywood’s Black ‘n’ Sassy with Amalie Maiden bitch.

3, Lockyer’s Gataj Fairytale Surprise.

Open bitch. 9/2a A class with some lovely bitches.
1, Burrows Ch Tiganlea Tinkerbell at Revdvicki very feminine 4 year old sable Clean wedge head well balanced with correctly placed stop. Obliquely set almond eye, used her ears well all giving a sweet expression. Well arched neck leading down to well laid shoulders. Neat tight feet, strong straight front legs. Good spring of rib, good turn of stifle and well let down strong hocks. Moved well but lacked the drive of my CC winner during the challenge but still pleased to award her the Red CC.
2, Congdon’s Monsolana Sunwish For Arronwell (Imp Rus). Another lovely bitch l liked a lot. She has a lovely outline with a good length of back good angulations strong limbs and good feet. Very feminine moulded head with sweet well placed eye. Not the show girl of 1 but a bitch of real quality.
3, Walder’s Jolie Blonde de Cabrenysset.

Veteran bitch 2/1
1, Hawkins Ch Brilyn Platinum Lustre. 9 year. Beautifully presented blue of correct colour with a harsh well fitted coat. Balanced head of good length with no exaggeration. Well placed stop correctly set almond eyes of good size. Showed non-stop pulling her ears up tight at times to show her sweet expression. Clean underjaw and perfect scissor bite. Lovely outline with good angulation good reach of neck and length of back all in proportion to the rest. Good turn of stifle and well let down hocks. Good bone but remains feminine. When this bitch moves she makes me smile, she strides out effortlessly in front maintaining her top line with elbows neither out nor in as she drives from behind. This is very apparent when viewed from the rear remaining parallel at all times. Soundness plus expression was what I was hoping to find today so was happy to award her my first CC to this deserving lady. Res BOB
