I would like to thank the committee of Ayrshire Collie Club for inviting me to judge their June Open Show in this their 60th Anniversary year. I would like to say thank you to my stewards who were so helpful. Especially I would like to thank all the exhibitors who entered and brought along their dogs and made this a very special unforgettable day for me.  

Class 1 Veteran  2 entries, 1 absent

1st:  Watts Culbra Charm Offensive.  8 year old sable and white bitch.  Presented in lovely coat and condition. Nice head pattern with lovely dark eye and ears on top. Good reach of neck and shoulder, lovely bone and neat feet. Moved with drive. Best Veteran

Class 2 Minor Puppy Dog.  No entries

Class 3 Puppy Dog. 2 entries

1st:  Shanaburn Clan Chief.  9 months old tri. Nice head pattern with good underjaw. Lovely dark eye and good ears, lovely black coat.  Good conformation and well boned with neat feet, moved well.

2nd:  Watts Culbrae Red Again.  11 months old sable and white.  Not as good in head qualities or on the move as my winner but has a nice dark eye and good expression nevertheless.

Class 4 Junior Dog.  1 entry

1st:  Brown and Jopsons Lillyway Lattimer at Nithview. 13 months old tri. He has a nice head pattern with good underjaw, good eye and ears giving a sweet expression.  Very attentive to his handler, stood and moved well.

Class 5 Yearling Dog.  1 entry

Proctors Wilmaranna out of the Blue for Cathbri.  18 months old blue merle of good colour. Nice type with good head pattern, would prefer ears a little tighter.  Nice reach of neck and good shoulder, moved well.

Class 6 Maiden Dog.  No entry.

Class 7 Novice Dog.  1 entry

1st: Shanaburn Clan Chief.

Class 8 Graduate Dog.  5 entries, 3 absent

1st:  Ileys’ Jack Black Ileyda.  3 year old tri of good size and quality.  Masculine head with good underjaw and neat ears.  He has a good reach of neck and good shoulder, good length of body.  Well boned with neat feet and moved well, carrying his tail correctly, jet black coat and rich tans completed the picture.

2nd:  Paterson and Blaneys’ Wilmaranna forever in Blue.  3 year old blue merle of good colour, loved his head qualities,  moved well but was a bit proud of his tail on the move.

Class 9 Post Graduate Dog 2 entries

1st:  Ileys’ Lynmack Tommy Hilfiger by Hilfiger.  3 year old sable and white of lovely type and quality with lovely expression he has a well  moulded foreface with good underjaw, good stop and lovely dark almond shaped eye, neat ears and good reach of neck into good shoulder.  He has a nice depth of chest and good length of body. Lovely bone and feet and good rear angulation. Moved freely. Reserve best dog.

2nd 13: Watsons’ Meryctin Knight of the Dance 2 year old sable and white.  Another quality dog with good head pattern, good stop, underjaw and lovely eye, good front and length of body.  Moved just a little close behind.

Class 10 Limit Dog 1 entry

1st: Carmichael’s Kilchrenan Keltic Brier. 3 year old tri of lovely type, would prefer ears a little tighter but otherwise he has a lovely head pattern with correct stop and good underjaw, lovely dark eye , neat ears and a good reach of neck, good shoulder and length of body, good bone and feet. Moved well.

Class 11 Open Dog. 4 entries, 1 absentee

1st:  Reids Ronansprey Ronan Kisses. 5 year old tri in full coat.  Super dog. Standing his outline is lovely. Masculine with a well moulded foreface, good underjaw,  correct stop, dark eye and neat ears. He has a lovely reach of neck into good shoulders, good depth of chest and good spring of rib, well boned legs, neat feet, and  good length of body. He has a good turn of stifle and neat short hocks. Moved with drive carrying his tail correctly. Jet black coat and rich tans set him off beautifully.   Best dog and rbis.

2nd:  Ashes Forrestwalk Rocket Man.  4 year old sable and white, nice type with good head pattern, loved his expression,  good underjaw, correct stop, dark eye and neat ears. Good bone and angulation, just moved a little close behind.

Class 13 Minor Puppy Bitch 3 entries, 2 absent

1st:  Hodges Jopium Secrets in the Mist. 6 months blue merle. Super blue merle puppy bitch with  beautiful head and construction, excellent colour, on her toes, completely in harmony with her handler and so confident for one so young, moved soundly and never stopped showing. Best puppy in show.

Class 14 Puppy Bitch 3 entries, 2 absent

1st:  Brodies Shanaburn Soft Sweet Kisses. 10 months old tri. Good head pattern with lovely eye and neat ears. Nice length of body and good black coat. Moved well but was a bit unsettled today.

1st: Hobkirks Chantique Love n Kisses. 19 months old sable and white.  Feminine girl with lovely head pattern and sweet expression. Nice construction, moved and showed well.

2nd:  Paterson and Blaneys Wilmeranna Blue Diamond. Feminine blue merle of good colour.  Nice head and expression and moved well, just out of coat today.

1st Hodges Jopium Secret Fantasy. 3 year old sable and white bitch. Stunning girl with everything to like, beautiful head with good underjaw, well moulded foreface, dark almond shaped eye and neat ears which she used all the time.  Lovely reach of neck into good shoulder good depth of chest, and spring of rib, well boned legs and neat feet, good length of body with slight rise over the loin. Moved soundly on short neat hocks, absolutely loved her. Best bitch and best in show.

1st:  Melvin and Jopsons Lillyway Lovin’ you at Nithview. 4 years old tri bitch of  lovely quality, with nice head pattern, good underjaw, lovely dark eye, good stop and neat ears.  Good reach of neck into good shoulder, good length of body. Good rear angulation and moved well.

Class 22 Open Bitch 6 entries 2 absent

1st:  Hodges Jopium Love Heart.  3 years old sable and white bitch, by the same sire as my best in show winner. Another high quality bitch with lovely head pattern and super conformation, moved soundly and never stopped showing. Was splitting hairs here between her and her sister.  Reserve best bitch.

2nd:  Brodies Shanaburn Magical Kisses. 6 years old tri bitch, lovely feminine girl with beautiful head pattern, good stop, dark eye and neat ears, lovely outline. Good angulation and jet black coat.  Moved well.
