BORDER UNION AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW 2017

My thanks to the sporting exhibitors for such a good entry and to my considerate helpful Stewards on what proved to be one of the hottest days of the year. I enjoyed my day and had some lovely exhibits to judge, at times I wish there had been more places as the quality especially in the bitches was very good and meant splitting hairs at times.
MINOR PUPPY DOG: 1

  1. Procter’s OUT OF THE BLUE FOR CATHBRI,7mth. b/m stood alone but not disgraced. He has a balanced head with good ear carriage, sweet eye, nice reach of neck, good shoulders and overall angulation, coat of good colour and texture, moved well fore & aft.

PUPPY DOG: 3
Wray, TAKHISIS DREAM WEAVER, 10mth. g/s, no mistaking his sex, head of good proportions, well rounded muzzle, sweet eye, good ears, good reach of neck and length of back, shoulders well angulated, with deep chest, coat of good texture, moved effortlessly around the ring. B.P.D & B.P.I.B

  1. Hawkins & Foy, BELDONNES TOM WOOD, 10mths s/w,another promising male, clean wedge head, sweet eye, good ears which he uses, nice arched neck, good balance overall, moved well.
  2. McLaughlin, MOONDANCE De CABRENYSSET FOR BRIHOW (IMP. FR.)

JUNIOR DOG: 4 (1a)

  1. Lockyer, GATAJ BEAU OF SUPRISES ,a promising tri with a super rich tan markings, loved his head and expression, uses his ears well giving true collie expression, good reach of neck, sound front and shoulders, good length of back, with deep chest, angulates and, moves well, very promising.
  2. McEntee, GERIAN SUNCONNECTION, a lot to like about him, good head, sweet eye, arched neck, sound overall, just a little unsettled today, probably the heat.

  1. Iley, LYNMACK TOMMY HILFIGER BY ILEYDA (J.W) g/s of good size, true male, head handles well, dark almond eye, sweet expression, ears well placed, good reach of neck, depth of chest, good length of back, angulates and moves well.
  2. Hassock, CAMANNA CAST A LONG SHADOW, attractive tri, with correct head, well filled muzzle, sweet eye, good ear carriage, nice reach of neck sound in shoulder with good deep chest, balanced overall, moves correctly. I think he has some of his sires attributes and should do well.
  3. Carmichael, KILKRENAN KELTIC BRIER (J.W):

POST GRADUATE DOG: 4 (1a)

  1. Jones & Blackburn, ERJON EARLY EDITION, s/s/w, just coming up 3yrs. My type of male, no mistaking his sex, lovely head and expression, sound front and good shoulder angulation, deep chest, correct length of back to height, angulates well, moves with true collie style, keeping a good topline, his handler certainly gets the best out of  him, couldn’t resist giving him the R.D.C.C.
  2. Blaikie, KOURIKA KOSTA KOFFEE, tri, just coming up 3yrs. A lot to like about him, balanced head with good foreface, uses his ears well giving a  sweet but masculine expression, well bodied  a  good topline, moved well, just preferred 1 on the day.
  3. Finney, BAHATIVIEW BAD MANNERS.

LIMIT DOG: 14 (1a) a lovely class

  1. Randall, LADNAR MOONDUST, tri, definitely all male,just turned 2yrs. Head of correct proportions, good foreface and underjaw, correct eye placement giving him a masculine but soft expression, his ears are correctly placed and he can use them, but is no showing fool ,lovely arch to neck, deep rib, sound in front, correct ratio of length to height, long tail, good topline and rear angulation, presented immaculately, moves as a true collie should in perfect timing with his handler, couldn’t resist him for  D. C.C. & B.O.B. hope he has more to come.
  2. Ross, AMBERWISH FRANKIE FREDERIX, s/s/w, liked this male as well, lovely head, sweet eye and expression, sound in front with deep chest and correct balance overall, moved well.

  1. Tipper, TIGANLEA TOO GOOD TO BE FORGOTTEN, and so he is, He was not in his best bib & tucker today but this meant he couldn’t hide anything. I have loved this dog since I first saw him. Lovely moulded head, sweet eye but masculine expression, good ears, well filled muzzle , neck of good length, deep rib, sound in front, balanced overall, strides out well.
  2. Collins, CHELBOURNE SOUL DESIRE for TRIBURLE,  another nice male just preferred head and expression of 1. He has a sound front, deep chest, correct length of back, in good coat, he moved keeping a good topline
  3. Walker & Ritchie, STARLENGA DIZZIE RASCALL.

VETERAN DOG: no ent.
MINOR PUPPY BITCH: 8- A lovely class of promising bitches for the future.

  1. Hawkins & Foy, BELDONNES BARLEY SUGAR, gorgeous s/w, lovely balanced head with sweet eye giving that melting expression, nice reach of neck, sound front, deep chest, good overall balance and angulation, moved very well, she is such a cheeky little madam.
  2. Randall, SAMHAVEN HOPEFULL LADNAR, quality b/m with plenty of charm, clean head with correct eye and sweet expression, uses her ears well, sound front, deep chest, good length of back, moves well.
  3. Johnston, RIVERSIDE SONG MILKY WHITE WAY (IMP. ROM.) T.A.F..

PUPPY BITCH: 5 another impressive set of youngsters.

  1. Walder, BELDONNES LA VITA BELLA FOR HANVALE, 10mths. g/s, what a sweetheart, correct wedge head with sweet eye and dreamy expression, uses and carries her ears well, good reach of neck leading to sound front and well angulated shoulders, well balanced overall with deep chest, carries a good topline on the move which she does well. B.P.B.
  2. McDade, FRIDENS CAPTIVATION WITH LYNDALE (IMP. RUS.), 11mth. b/m of good colour, lovely head and expression, good reach of neck, well balanced overall, angulates well, coat of good texture. Moves with drive.

  1. Brooker, GERIAN SUN KISSES OVER CORISIAN J.W., g/s, lovely head and expression, good sound front and shoulders, nice length of neck, deep chest, well balanced overall, sound on the move, immaculately presented as always from this kennel.
  2. Fort, DANFREBECK DUST AN ILLUSION BY SHULUNE, b/m a lot to like about her, clean head sweet expression, sound front with deep chest, well balanced body with good angulation, moved well.
  3. Johnston, SEA DREAMERS WALKING ON SUNSHINE (IMP. NED.)

  1. McDade, BELDONNES SWEET ILLUSION WITH LYNDALE, and she is, g/s very feminine bitch, balanced head with sweet eye and dreamy expression, correct ear carriage, lovely reach of neck, sound in front with deep chest, good overall length of back to height, moves well keeping a good topline.
  2. Fox, ERJON EUPHORIC FOR ALANITA, tri, who is just turned 2yrs. And has really come on since I first saw her, Lovely head pattern with good expression, nice length of  neck, deep chest, angulates well, strode out on the move, can see some of her sires influence in her.
  3. Steven, CARIADHAF COOKIES AND CREAM.

POST GRADUATE BITCH: 8(3a)

  1. McGowan, BARRENCLOUGH GOLDEN CHARM AT WESTOAK, she certainly charmed me. Just tuned 3yrs she is coming into her own. I have watched her mature and improve since coming to this kennel. Lovely head and expression, dreamy eye, good foreface, nice arch to neck, shoulders angulate well, sound front, deep chest, good on the move, immaculately presented, couldn’t resist her for R.B. C.C. hope she goes onto higher things.
  2. Sibbald, TELFORTH LITTLE MIX (T.A.F.) another sweetheart just unfortunate to be against 1. Nothing exaggerated, sweet dreamy expression, good ears very sound, moved and presented well.
  3. Fort, SHULUNE CAST A SPELL.

LIMIT BITCH: 13 (5a) another quality class

  1. Tame, RHALISSA LOVE SONG (J.W.),g/s of 3yrs. Loved her, so feminine but with strength. Head of correct proportions, good underjaw almond eye giving that soft melting expression, well filled back scull, correct length of neck, sound shoulders, correct front, deep rib, lovely overall balance and shape, carries a good topline on the move which she does in true collie style, immaculately presented, could have taken her home. Pleased to award her the B.C.C. and really pleased to know afterwards that this gave her,the title of champion, subject to K.C., well deserved.
  2. Lockyer, GATAJ SWEET SURPRISE, another lovely bitch, lovely head and expression, uses her ears well, sound in shoulder, deep chest, correct balance, she moves well.
  3. Collins, TRIBURLE ZEETA.

OPEN BITCH: 13 (4a) another super class.

  1. Shipp, PRINCE OF SUNLIGHT NAOMI AT TREMARO, (IMP.HUN.), lovely bitch, g/s of 3yrs.with the most dreamy expression, clean wedge head, well filled foreface, ears perfectly tipped, correct length of neck and deep chest, lovely topline, she is a feminine size with nothing exaggerated. Moved effortlessly, considered her for the res. CC.. Hope her day will come.
  2. Walder, CH. HEART OF GOLD de CABRENYSSET FOR HANVALE (IMP. FR.)

Another lovely bitch, nothing exaggerated, very feminine and completely sound with good shape and angulation.

  1. Fox,& Moore, DANFREBECK AMAZING GRACE FOR ALANITA, g/s just into veteran, pleasing head and expression, sound overall, good topline on the move which she does well, presented in good coat, she moved soundly. B.V.
