Rough Collie Judge Ms Cheryl Lockett (Cheryldene)
BEST IN SHOW BHYLLSACRE BABYCHAM
RBIS/RBB BELDONES PANDORA
BVIS TAKHISIS HIGH VOLTAGE
BPIS BARRENCLOUGH GOLDEN PEARL
Thank you for the lovely hospitality and honour of judging your show ; I was pleased with my final winners, but disappointed in some of the teeth, mouths and movement of some of the other entries. Several significantly overweight dogs were hampered by their excess weight. Correctly shaped & padded (front) feet were in the minority, splayed feet & poor inadequate pasterns seems to be on the increase- not good for a long ,pain free, active life!
Veteran Dog/Bitch (2,1abs)
1st Wray’s’ Takhisis High Voltage BVIS 10yr young, upstanding b/m boy, presented in super coat, with good weight for height, excellent rib & balance, moving true both ways, good use of ears, eyes of good shape, round muzzle, beginning to show his age a little now but a very handsome, sound dog to be proud of.
Minor Puppy Dog (2,0)
1st Rocks’ Rashel One Moment in Time, tri baby presented in lovely coat & condition, stood & showed well, rather up on the leg at the moment, good length of back and neck, longer head, well used ears, needs to firm up in rear movement .BPD
2nd Boyles’ Barrenclough Crescent Moon, although moved true was unable to handle him today, very unsettled, very pleasing type who I hope calms with age, very nicely balanced head with good expression
Puppy Dog (2,0)
1st Boyles Barrenclough Diamond Days, young s/w dog who is quite narrow through at the moment , lovely head & rounded foreface, rather small in eye but of correct shape, a rather tight expression, would prefer better length of tail. & needs more training to improve stance behind. Promising boy let down again by presentation.
2nd Dunlop’s’ Essanjay Sundown, much bigger boy with a lot of daylight as yet , carrying good body & weight, nicely presented, moved true both ways, but head needs to mature, rather high between the eyes at present & lacking in stop which detracts from his other attributes.
Junior Dog (3,0)
1st Pages’ Lynmead Amalie Bring Me Back, Very handsome s/w, beautifully presented dog who would benefit from more training. Deeper in stop than ideal for me, giving impression of a 2 piece head rather than true parallel planes, but has a very pleasing expression & a lovely rounded foreface. Good mouth & lovely teeth. Well placed & used ears and appealing outlook. Good length of back, spring of rib, good bone, well angulated stifles. Moved true & freely. Showed well.
2nd Barrenclough Diamond Days
3rd Miles’ Corydon Sayems Victory, Very nicely presented tri, hampered by overly heavy ears & rounded eye. Better training & attention to rear stance would improve his chances, more strength needed going away.
Novice Dog (3,0)
1st Rashel One Moment in Time- moved much better in this class, as settled to job in hand.
2nd Barrenclough Diamond Days
3rd Corydon Sayems Victory
Graduate Dog (2,0)
1st Lynmead Amalie Bring Me Back -balanced male
2nd Kenny’s’ Lanlin Benji at Leesaund, s/w Head handles very well, with lovely foreface, shapely dark eye, good ear set and use, pleasing expression ; presented in nice coat , good length of back and nice rib, Needs more power, reach and drive on the move .
Post Graduate (1,0)
1st Wray’s’ Takhisis Trick or Treat RBD well known upstanding tri put down in lovely coat and condition, so well trained, nicely balanced body and one of the few with correctly shaped feet and defined pasterns. Well developed thighs, good rib, nice sweep over the croup, moved quite well , bit heavier in head with more breadth than ideal for me ,but all fits the picture well, good planes to his head & well shaped and set eye. Attentive showman.
Limit Dog (3,0)
1st Pointons’ Bently Blue at Monsolana of Aldreen JW ShCm, lovely coated & presented b/m boy who was carrying far too much weight over the ribs & shoulders, which showed in his front movement, stance & feet. Lovely planes to his head with rounded foreface, nicely shaped & set eye. But wide low ears spoilt the picture a little. Moved very true going away. Would like to see him at his correct weight.
2nd Slaters’ Danfrebek Double O Seven at Stanlox JW s/w Eye-catching attractive male with lovely coat and rich colour, who did not move to advantage either way today, detracted also by his high flying tail. Too deep in stop/head for me, preferred the balanced correct head planes of 1.
3rd Lynmead Amalie Let Me Go
Open Dog (4,2)
1st Boyles’ Barrenclough Moonglow JW ShCM BD,s/w boy with a very pleasing head & expression, head handles really well .lovely planes and smooth flat cheeks, well rounded foreface, good tight lips, Good teeth & mouth. Nice size, elegant styled dog of correct weight and proportions, with no exaggerations, carrying a good length of coat, but spoilt by poor presentation. Lovely body to go over, well-muscled, lean, lythe & athletic build, moved ok, better presentation, correctly cleaned & groomed must surely be to his advantage!
2nd Skinners’ Nikal It's Gud To Be Black. Well-presented tri boy of good body proportions who put in a good performance, nice spring of rib, free mover ;good planes to his head and correct eye, but lazy ears today spoilt the picture a little, nice neck, not the set of shoulder of 1, but a pleasing dog non the less.
Minor Puppy Bitch (5,2)
1st Rigby’s’ Eximer Fortune of Love, very sweet feminine s/w baby, quite raw and in need of time, but a really good spring of rib and length of neck, level top line, nice size for age with well set back front legs and short hocks, good length of back and nice height to length balance. Sweet head with lovely rounded foreface.
2nd Randalls’ Fata Turchina Ladnar Di Cambiano b/m, totally different type, quite rangey with long hocks, beautifully presented in lovely condition and superbly schooled. Quite well broken colour, was not moving to her advantage today, favouring one front leg. Preferred shoulder placement of 1.
3rd Williams’ Ingledene Seasons in the Sun at Essanjay –reluctant mover today
Puppy Bitch (1,0)
1st Boyles Barrenclough Golden Pearl BPB/BPIS, like the others from this kennel, has great appeal for type, well balanced head and good expression, correctly set & used ears, very feminine girl, with refined foreface. Nice size for age, good length of back, in good coat, very appealing just wish wasn’t let down again by such poor presentation- front feet could be tighter ,needs more attention to reach her full potential and rear movement needs to firm up.
Junior Bitch (6,3)
1st Wrays’Beldones Pandora RBB/RBIS, refined s/w youngster with well-balanced head of good planes, lovely smooth cheeks and rounded foreface, good eye and soft expression, good ear set , attentive show girl shown in lovely coat and presentation, quite glamorous, level top line, good bone, well-muscled, nice thighs and strong stifle, moved ok, nice rib, little short in back, but good neck and stands well, pleasing bitch. Stands foursquare very ell-schooled.
2nd McDades’ Beldones Sweet Illusion with Lyndale – litter sister to 1, but quite different type, deeper stop & steeper in skull, not the planes of 1, but very appealing and feminine. Excellent size and good neck, preferred front movement & lay of shoulder of 1. Moved ok, but standing gaiting behind today.
3rd Barrenclough Golden Pearl - didn’t move as well in this class.
Novice Bitch (2,0)
1st Barrenclough Golden Pearl
2nd Ingledene Seasons In the Sun At Essanjay –not the head and expression of 1.
Graduate Bitch (5,2)
1st Cozens’ Bhyllsacre Babycham BB/BIS, A lot to like in this s/w bitch of nice proportions, good length of back & neck, nice height -level top line, good sweep over croup and nice tail, well-shaped ribs with good heart room, good straight front legs and quite good shaped feet. Balanced one piece head of good planes, smooth cheeks and well moulded foreface, head handles nicely, correct almond eye lacking in many , well set and placed, pleasing expression, ears a bit wide as not on her toes indoors but put in a good performance, moved freely, presented in good double coat of correct texture .Not overly woolly like some . Well balanced girl. An easy winner for me today. Well done!
2nd Randall’s’ Ladnar Inkheart JW, young tri bitch superbly schooled on standing and presented to advantage; bit longer on the leg for me, moved freely but rather fond of her tail, Shorter head ,although has much appeal prefer the eye shape and set 1 .Shown in good coat ,very attractive and eye-catching but preferred the longer body balance & lay of shoulder of 1.
Post Graduate Bitch
1st Cozens’ Bhyllsacre Babycham
Loved both of these 2 tris, but neither moved very well today. Both have really lovely one piece heads of lovely balance.
2nd Pointons’ Aldreen Dressed to Impress, has the edge, She had for me the most appealing head and expression of the day , loved her super femininity, lovely eye and expression ,but her huge coat, excess weight and reluctance to move spoilt her chances, love to see her again when she is more on form .Really appealed
3rd Skinners’ Samhaven Time is Money with Nikal, not moving well in front today & too fond of her tail.
4th Rigby’s’ Kourika Krushed Krystal at Eximer
Limit Bitch (2,0)
1st Slaters’ Amalie Lynmead Lets Go Alexi to Stanlox- s/w girl of lovely size, beautifully groomed & presented in good coat, really good neck & top line, well carried head of good planes, with lovely rounded muzzle. Nice dark eye of good size & shape, disappointed in movement on the floor today going & coming.
2nd Williams’ Essanjay Moonlight Shadow- 5 yr old Tri girl, nicely handled & presented, good length of head with good foreface, moved ok but lacking reach & drive, somewhat matronly in outlook, reluctant showgirl today, but was down on pasterns with rather flat front feet.
Open Bitch (3,1)
1st Annables’ Danfrebek Magics Wildspice with Avisette, Very feminine 5 yr old s/w with huge excessive coat which detracts from both shape and movement, Nice size & neck, good rib, level top line and good length of tail, quite fine foreface, good dark eye, wide set ears, would prefer better mouth & tighter lips.. Reluctant mover & showgirl today.
