London Collie Club Open Show Special Award Classes

I would firstly like to thank the committee of London Collie Club for their kind invitation to judge at a wonderfully organised and friendly show. I was quite overwhelmed at the number of entries for the Special Awards classes, and consider myself extremely fortunate to have had a great selection of
quality dogs to go over on the day. A sincere thank you to all of the exhibitors who entered, and to everyone for their positive comments afterwards.

Special Junior Dog or Bitch
1. Wray’s Beldones Pandora
11 month old s/w rough bitch presented in excellent condition. Good head proportions, with a nicely sized and placed eye resulting in an ultra-feminine, sweet expression. Nice reach of neck, and good rear angulation contributed to a pleasing outline when stood. Covered the ring with ease, excellent movement for her age, holding her topline well.
2. McDade’s Beldones Sweet Illusion with Lyndale
11 month old s/w rough bitch and litter sister to (1). Well groomed coat that is a shade darker than that of her litter sister. Nice length of head, just the right amount of stop, good ear carriage and again lovely eye giving a wonderful sweet expression. Well balanced when stood, just slightly finer in build overall than my class winner. Moved well, but the cleaner rear movement of her sister meant that she was just pipped on the day.

1. Skinner’s Samhaven Time Is Money with Nikal
2 year old tricolour rough bitch, a really classy looking lady. Her shape really appealed to me when I first saw her stood in the ring and she did not disappoint. Lovely rounded foreface,clean wedge head, and correctly sized and placed ears which she used well. Beautiful soft
expression, and no exaggeration of any head qualities. Really nice length of back leading to a well angulated rear, good bend of stifle. Moved out well, and gracefully covered the ring.
2. Page’s Lynmead Amalie Let Me Go
3 year old shaded sable rough dog who I have always admired from around the ring. He has the most outstanding temperament. Good length of head and lovely flat skull. Nice eye which gives him a sweet yet masculine expression. Used his ears well, and very attentive to his handler. Nice fitting coat in gleaming condition and well put together throughout. In proportion making for a lovely picture overall, I would just prefer there to be a little more of him all over. Moved well.
3. Daley’s Tremaro Tainted Love at Rahlissa

Special Open Dog or Bitch
1. Maxwell & Wallis’ Trenley Tatenen at Hamisks
Almost 4 year old shaded sable rough dog with bags of character. When he is concentrating, he is quite the showman. A very pleasing head with lovely rounded foreface, and well shaped and set dark eye. Very masculine, whilst maintaining a wonderful sweetness to his expression. Good reach of neck, shown off by a flashy white collar, creating a beautiful outline in profile. Well sprung ribs, good topline and good angulation to the rear. Moved well, really covering the ground with drive as he went.
2. Benton’s Oakestelle Venus de Milo
3 year old blue merle smooth bitch, completely at one with her handler making a lovely picture. Showed non-stop, ears permanently on top. Dark eye and sweet expression. Lovely overall shape and outline when stood. Particularly well angulated rear construction which meant she moved effortlessly around the ring, it was a joy to watch her.
