Collie (Rough) BITCHES CRUFTS 2016
It was a pleasure and an honour to be invited by the Crufts Judges Committee to judge Rough Collie bitches at Crufts 125th Anniversary Show 2016.
I would also like to take this oportunity to thank my two stewards Mrs P Lewis and Ms J Stevens who did a sterling job and kept the classes
flowing
I had a great entry of 163 all in excellent condition, with all my winners outstanding specimens of the breed, movement certainly had
improved since I last judged the breed, it was also evident the bitches are now coming up to the correct height 20/22inches which is certainaly
good for the breed.
On health issues all passed with flying colours, however I feel it necessary to point out to exhibitors/breeders I found 5/6 exhibits
with missing teeth which is hereditary and should be taken seriously in future breeding programmes,today all missing teeth were in the upper jaw
directly behind the canines, so check it out.
For Best of Breed either dog or bitch could have graced the big ring unfortunately only one can go through, so after due consideration it was agreed
with my co-Judge Mrs E. Kitchen to award B.O.B. to Mr L Kelly's dog, Clowns Come On Over To Ballahanna. For the first time in a number of Years the
Collie was short listed in the Group which was exicting to see and good for the breed. Best Puppy was from P.B class, Miss J Hodges, Jopium Love Heart.
Finally I would like to thank all the exhibitors, especially those who travelled this Year from all over Europe, many thanks for entering under me
and accepting my decisions in the sporting mannor that you did.

S/W In lovely condition, excellent head pattern, correct eye and ear placement giving a true collie expression,a good reach of neck into well laid shoulders, straight front, good spring of rib and length of loin ,good turn of stifle with hocks well let down, having all of these attributes resulted in her moving with ease around the ring, nearly 9 year old who does not look her age, showed none stop, a credit
to her owners.

B/M Another true collie in every sense of the word, 10 years old, steel blue with an excellent head, ears well placed, correct angles at shoulder,nice bone, excellent feet,good spring of rib, lovely confirmation, nice angles at rear, moved with drive holding a level top line, in excellent condition a credit to her owners, handled to perfection.

B/M Coming up on 9 years old she was in lovely bloom and excellent condition, her head was balanced with a good eye and well placed ears and excellent underjaw, excellent reach of neck,good shoulder placement into straight front, good spring of rib, good overall body shape, nice angles at rear,another who moved true holding a level top line.

Tri Lovely headed puppy having an excellent almond shaped eye, ears right on top,good shoulder angles leading into straight front well sprung ribs.nice confirmation, excellent angles at rear with her tail reaching the ground, keeping the tail down as she steadly moved around the ring, one to look out for in the future

S/W Not the same head properties as 1st but with a lovely eye and ears in correct position which she used non stop, good overall confirmation, she had the most rich sable coat in excellent condition and moved around the ring with ease.
3rd 14647 MR C P BARTRAM - AMBARTR BORN TO FOLLOW
s/w Another which did not have the same head properties of 1st , ears were correctly placed which she used non stop, straight front with good spring of rib,good level top line, a puppy which was in good condition, moved well.
